Topic #3 Need New Website Guru
We are on the look out for someone who can maintain the CVOA Website. Is there any interest? Would need to know some basics on Wix Platforms.

We need to review and work on developing new Members/ Interested Members for the Leadership Roles in the CVOA
1) Regional and Local Participation
2) How can Current Leaders Develop, Identify, Potential Leaders to assume Roles
3) Roles are not supposed to be Life time Appointments. We need Members to step up to help continue this Club
This is a tougher nut to crack. Unless there is someone within a reasonable distance from the directors, it is hard to either delegate, or share responsibilities.
Personally, I know it is nice to have an editor not combined with another position in the club.
A lot of our duties can be handled electronically with spreadsheets and databases.
Some of our duties are a bit more physical in nature and therefore harder to delegate.
Maybe splitting some of the duties would work. For instance, in merchandise I could use someone to do the purchasing of parts and tracking down different vendors for parts projects. This role would be separate from the person selling and shipping the club parts.
Adjusting costs of Merchandise, or adding shipping fees to CVOA Merchandise. (Shawn Parsons can lead this topic) .
What are Members views on this? Any large exceptions?
Shipping cost of heavy or oversize items. This is historical data from the last time I shipped these items. Prices probably have gone up since then. Hood Pad (via Greyhound) $75.00. Hood Pad (via FedEx) $201.00; Headers (via Fed Ex) $75.00. I'll report on shipping a rim in a couple of days, as I have an order for one that I'm shipping out separately.
Flat rate shipping has gone up twice in the past year. The things I ship mostly in a flat rate box are belts (timing belt, distributor belt, water pump gasket combination) in a small flat rate box, and water pumps in a medium flat rate box due to size and weight. I can ship 5 water pumps for rebuild in a large flat rate box (it is a heavy box and our rebuilder is sending it back to us using the same method).
What I ship the most are gasket sets. Upper and lower gasket sets (without any other items in the order) are shipped in a plastic envelope. Head gaskets (due to cost of replacement if damaged) are shipped in a box. The box for gaskets, dash bezels, dash bezel material (all flat but long items) is 20x24x2 and still cost $14.75 to ship. This is our best bargain.
Any discussion, questions, issues regarding Topics from the 2021 Directors Meetings?
1) Aquistion of Hutton Parts
2) New Concours Event Scoring and Guidelines for Annual Roundups
3) Opt Out for CVOA Magazines
4) Website Discussions (Moving to New Topic for 2022)
5) Development for Leadership Roles in the CVOA (Moving to New Topic for 2022)
My thoughts on the old topics.
1) Aquistion went well. Selling through the merch pretty well.
2) Scoring Guidelines worked well.
3) No more needs to be said. IF you want to opt out, the option is there,
4) Moved to new discussion
5) Moved to new Discussion
6) David Bloch, any Movement on getting this going?
Thanks,
John J. Cowall
I do have a concern that we are not reaching the full audience here (for finding that possible/potential person)... I do understand that we are an older group as a whole (myself included), and that is part of my point. I am not sure how many of the younger people are actually looking at OR involved in our Website Forum.
