The sunroof IS installed, 0002

Wow, what a job this was! Getting the glass into it was NOT easy... I was worried that I was going to break the plastic frame AND was not even sure I was going to get it in. It would be interesting to know how they did it back in the day. I feel like there had to be a better way than bending and forcing it into the plastic frame, but have no idea what it would be. After installing the glass I did have to do some touch-up painting on the frame. In hindsight, I would have installed the glass before painting.

The Skytrends Sunroof is a cool vintage piece but not a very high quality product. There is quite a bit of touch up painting that will need to be done on the cars roof. For some reason this surround has a little bit smaller footprint than the one that was originally installed. I highly doubt this thing is water tight (I do not plan on driving or having the car in the rain anyway). The glass rubber seal is hard as a rock, but intact.

I will now begin installing the in tank Fiero pump and repair the fuel level sending unit. Thankfully the tank is clean so once the sending unit is all together I can install the tank and move on to the power plant. I fully anticipate many mechanical issues to deal with as I move forward.

THANK YOU for accepting this piece of CVOA history for a project. Your restoration standards are so high, I was afraid that this "mess" would be too much. You have exceeded expectations already!
