I bought this project from Joe Lathrop in July 2019. As of this 1/13/2021 date, the car is 90% complete with a nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. The engine in the pic is stock for weight and balance setup and initial shakedown at the New Orleans Road Course (NOLA). Engine development is underway to produce around 275 hp with 200 lb-ft torque. The car is built to run in Group 8/B-Sedan Challenge in the SVRA series.

Correction, Sonny still has the 140 cu in Vega engine parts - only all the CV parts were sold.

Pseudo road racer like for solo through the cones and/or maybe track days. Nothing competitive, I'll put a passenger seat in it so the wife can ride along if allowed. I'd build a rally racer if an event came close but I'm in the roundy-round southeast. Never on a Vega Dragster, or me put a V-8 in a Vega, much less a CV - NEVER!

Caught in the act getting this heap home from NC to Mobile, AL. This is CV 2716 and unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with what I found when I arrived at the previous owner of five years farm. The pics currently in the registry on the CVOA site are from the previous owner to my seller. Those along with pics sent from my seller had me hopeful for a restore candidate, but the poor thing has seen far to much recent abuse from the..., adolescent group of about five I was introduced to at the farm. They have scratched, mangled, tore, or abused every inch of this CV as evidenced in this pic by the tailights, which look like one of them took the time to tap two artistic holes in each of the tailights. Thankfully, I have since got it home and found only surface rust and NO through rust holes. The engine fires and has oil pressure and runs by spraying fuel in the butterflies as the fuel lines are gummed and/or the fuel injection is INOP. Although abused it's all there and really unmolested but as I said I won't be restoring it. The wifey says build a race car and that will be the future of CV 2716. With that said, I'll be selling everthing a race car doesn't need to race, so imagine those items and if you need something let me know. These might include the hood, front sheet and grill but not the whole clip, rear hatch, seats, dash, brake systems, 5 stock wheels, complete fuel injection, etc. Thanks for reading and thanks to the helpful CVOA guys I've talked to so far like Tim's as in Coughlin and Morgan and JD Smith the CVOA website guru. Thanks guys maybe I'm getting little ahead of myself. I'm leaving in the morning to go get the car so I don't have anything yet. I don't anticipate much in paperwork to come with the car. Late model cars are much easier to get a window sticker reprint, like after 1981 directly from Chevrolet. I'd prefer official info coming to me, i.e. in that direction. Later models have the sticker with all option codes listed on a sticker in the glove box. I wonder do CV's have those? Probably not I've never seen a reference to one. Anyway, I'll follow up after I get the car home. Thanks again.

Okay great Jack. My CV is a 1976 black one #2716. So I understand, can you provide the options included in my particular model? That's what I'm really looking for, i.e. the actual OEM information that came on the original window sticker based on the VIN. So far I've found that I can get a window sticker made up from a template, but I need to provide the info, but truly that info is what I'm looking for. Thanks
