Yahoo posts. Was (is?) a part of The Auto Collections, the world’s largest classic car showroom, located at the Imperial
Palace Hotel in Las Vegas. www.autocollections.com. It is billed as: 1976 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega ‐ ID#
1V77O6U182958 ‐ 45 original miles! The Cosworth Vega is truly a milestone car. 1st Chevrolet with
electronic fuel injection. The dual overhead cam engine is by Cosworth engineering of England. This car
is number 2653. It is simply the best Cosworth Vega in the world. Chevrolet dealer owned since new. A
special one of a kind car for the buyer who wants to own the very best.
I recall the 50 mile CV in the Imperial Palace collection. It was far from showroom condition when they
had it on display. The paint work was screaming..... SOMEBODY PLEASE TAKE CARE OF ME! Ollie #1134
The Imperial Palace Cosworth was priced at $21,500. It sold for $18,500. Bruce

May, 2003, owned by Dave. Kt250dave2001@yahoo.com He left it running and the oil gauge line broke
and when he came back outside it had bled almost dry and stopped running. He wrote, “I was a
member of the CVOA but have foolishly let my membership lapse, with plans to join again soon. I'm
really looking for an opinion on my problem...I was warming the 76 up in the yard, came outside to see
smoke coming from under the hood. (not a lot) What happened is the aftermarket oil pressure line had
melted (it was ran on the head above the red hot headers!!!) The motor was not running when I came
outside... Do the Cosworths have the same kind of sending unit that shuts down the fuel pump when
the oil pressure drops?? Could I have done a lot of damage to the motor or should I just run copper
tubing for the gage, fill up the motor with oil and run it??? (This is the opinion part!) I have a sleeved
block with Cosworth 10/1 pistons, Webers, light flywheel etc. Thanks kt250dave2001.” He also wrote
that there was about a quart and a half of oil remaining in the pan when he checked.

Offered for sale in April of 2007: “You are bidding on Cosworth Vega #2665. This car is my baby but
unfortunately it has to go. It is dark metallic green with a white and green interior. It runs and drives and
only has 56000 original miles on the odometer. I bought the car October of 1998 and it has been in a
garage wrapped in an air‐tight "car‐capsule" ever since. I usually bring it out once or twice a year. It has
always started and ran very well but it has recently developed a fuel leak back by the tank and did not
want to start a few months ago. This Vega has a 4 speed trans, and a 3.73 posi rear. It has door edge
guards, rear defroster, tinted glass, pop‐up windows, the aux. lighting package and an am/fm radio with
single rear speaker. All the rear brake lines have been replaced, along with all the rear brakes
themselves. The engine has new cap, rotor, wires, and plugs, new fresh filters and fluids, new cat
converter, an Accel ignition module, all new fuel lines and hoses, and has also had its clutch replaced by
the previous owner. The tires also have been replaced. It needs a little work to be really road ready. It
needs the front brakes and shocks replaced and again, it needs all the rear fuel hoses replaced as well. I
have all the parts for the front brakes, shocks, and bearings. The winning bidder also gets a new carpet
set, and a clean clear NJ state title. Car must been seen to be appreciated. Cash only please, car must be
picked up no later than 14 days after close of auction. Looking for a shell to build a v‐8 Vega? Please look
elsewhere.” Sold for $4000.

1976 Chevrolet Cosworth #2666 Vega. Although this is a true Cosworth, a 1963 Buick 215 aluminum V-8
(less than 1500 miles on rebuild) with a 3 speed automatic transmission (350 turbo w/shift kit and stall
converter) has been installed. D & D Fabrication parts were used for the installation of the drive train.
The original Cosworth engine/transmission 5sp and rear axle (410 posi) goes with with the car and can
easily be re-installed for the "purist" at heart. This was a on/off 3 yr restoration/build (2009-2012), baseclear
paint, underbody/engine compartment was media blasted-primed and painted. New carpet, NOS
dash, restored wheels, hrs of labor and over 12K budget on the build. The automatic shifter was modified
so that it looks as though it's the original 5 speed. Only thing not refinished was the bumpers. The car has
always driven away with a plaque or trophy at the local car shows, and has driven 3 amazing laps at
Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn Mi.
For questions please call 517-749-5968 or text. This car is is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end
the listing at anytime. Video being uploaded from the 3 laps at the speedway on Youtube, type (CV 2666).
The buyer is responsible for shipping/transporting. A deposit is required within 24hrs of the
purchase/auction, paypal is accepted. Thank you and good luck bidding!

Just spent the weekend stripping #2667. My boss got tired of looking at it and threatened to have it towed off, so the pieces are going up for your consideration, and then up for auction.
Lots of good stuff, including: quick-ratio steering box, swing-out rear windows with seals and hardware (seals worn but servicable), interior plastic (black) in really nice condition (everything but the door panels and front kick vent panels), front grill, rear side marker lights, tail lights, and license plate lights and wiring, complete dash assembly (minus clock) with all wiring and fuse block (bezel badly faded, otherwise in good shape), perfect black dash pad, glove box with aux. wiring and light, 4 good '76 rims, sway bars, engine wiring harness (minus EFI wiring, car was converted to Webers and all EFI wiring removed), great seats (front and rear), 4-spd trans, both doors (no rust and no door panels). There may be other stuff, but you get the idea. I'm after fair market value for all parts. If anyone needs any of the above, or other stuff I haven't pulled but still could (hatch and windshield glass, springs, etc.), let me know. Please email me (see my profile) rather than reply to this post as I check my email more frequently. Thanks, Eric. Yahoo post 5/19/2002

The more I dig into this car, the more rust I find, and not just surface rust but what I consider major
structural rust. If someone really handy with a welder wants a project, I'll sell the whole thing as a roller
(no motor or trans) for $500, otherwise I am going to pick the carcass clean as a Thompson’s gazelle
after the hyenas, and eBay the important bits. The body will be scrapped if I part it. The important bits
include a good 4‐spd, a 3.73 non‐posi rear end, black interior parts, good vinyl seats, dash with gauges
(bezel has no gold color left), steering wheel, good set of restored '76 rims etc, etc. The only body parts
that don't have rust are the doors. If anyone is interested in anything before things go to eBay, drop me
a line. Please note my email address is now eandcchapman@attbi.com. Yahoo post 12/18/2001

It is a 5‐speed, black/black vinyl, sunroof, am/fm/8track, and has 42,000 miles. The price of the car is
$450!!!!! There is rust around the windshield, rust on the rear deck, and rust around the sunroof. The
doors are solid, no rust. There is a rust hole under the battery tray. The wheels are very dirty but
should clean up he says. The car runs, but somewhat poorly. It will start and run briefly, then quit, start
again and run longer and longer each time. Then if it is shut off, the process must be repeated. I spoke
to James about joining the CVOA, and he says he will if he buys the car. Chris, his phone number is 707
328‐0561 if you need it for any reason. Mark

Robert Spinello recently wrote: My first Cosworth Vega #2673,a 1976 mahogany metallic 4-speed with buckskin vinyl, positraction (& all options) , 25k-miles pictured here in 1988, sporting a new set of Cosworth Vega wheels (NOS in GM boxes - I paid $1,000) and an NOS set of Goodyear BR70-13 Steelgard radials. I had the car refinished in its original color with "factory pack" acrylic lacquer (when it was still available) and new stripping (NOS in GM boxes). The car attended the 1987 CVOA Roundup; took third place "Best Restoration." The car won several Super Chevy open class first place awards in the 80's and was featured in Super Chevy magazine January 1988 issue.

Over here in World Series 25 Time Champ Land I am trying to save the fate of 76‐2673, which was
abandoned by its former owner (a club member). The current possessor wants to sell it but can't
without a title. He honestly would rather drive a payloader over it than do anything with it. If things go
my way I might be paying storage for it and my wife would be murderizing me. It gets to be a shame
sometimes. Also, he would sell it for $2800 disassembled (He is a partner in a used car dealership).
