Advertised on eBay in 2011: 1976 Cosworth Vega #2987. Dark Blue Metallic with White Vinyl interior. Purchased in late 1980's in Clemson, SC. Restored/Rebuilt in the early 1990's and was first shown at the CVOA meet in Atlanta/Doraville Round‐Up. Odometer reset to "zero" and only 9999 miles since. This Cosworth has been driven at least to the Corning, Green Bay, and a brief cameo at the Louisville CVOA Round‐ups. Also, this Cosworth, outside of the awards won at Atlanta, has been personally held out of the Concours Judging at other CVOA events to allow others to wins awards. Even so, this car has won several "People's Choice" Awards. Car was also featured in the
December 1991 issue of "All Chevy" magazine. Goodyear Polysteel Radial 195/70R‐13 tires including
spare. Goodyear 2nd generation tires that I purchased new with a near identical sidewall profile as the
OEM BR70‐13 tires. These tires have been driven on since the car has been rebuilt with no issues. Mainly
used to drive to the golf course on weekends or weekend late afternoons to "row through the gearbox".
4 Speed, AM/FM Stereo, Rear Defogger, Aux Lighting, Floor Mats, Swing‐out Rear Quarter Windows,
Factory Tinted Glass. Driver's door has original VIN & Tire Pressure stickers, hood has original (not
Osborne repro) "XB" emission decal. Minor issue with the right rear quarter panel bodywork. It has been
like that since rebuild. Never tried to repair this area. Will include the remaining DuPont Lacquer paint
used to refinish this car. Engine has a minor rear seal leak (rope seal). Since car has been driven, there
are several small paint chips on the front end bodywork. Mainly the lower valance panel that can be
repainted. Still a very sharp looking car sitting in the garage or outside.

November 2003. This white Cosworth with an unknown interior was offered for sale by Mike Pratt,
formerly of Ohio and now living in Santa Ana, CA. He reports that it is stored in Indiana and has very low
miles, having been seldom driven since his marriage in 1977. It is one of three cars (0023 and 0088)
being offered by him. 714 558‐1055. gasmixer@pacbell.net

Don posted in October of 2013: Ok, here is the deal. Have 2 Cosworths I need a good home for. I am out
of room at my house and the city just gave me 30 days to get rid of them or get them in a building. Hate
to pull them out to the farm and let them set there in the tall weeds. Number 3004 is a dark mahogany
car with black vinyl. Have changed the driver's seat cover as it was really torn up. Complete and ran till I
went to back it into place . Shut off the radio and it died. Could not hear the fuel pumps run after that
when the key was turned. Has some rust around the windshield, but the rest of the body is pretty solid.
It ran good till it died and I just have not gotten back to it as too many other projects going on. Has the 3
piece Astra rear spoiler installed and one of Wheaton's front valences and full front spoilers on it. Has
new carpet in the hatch area and I will throw in new carpet for the floor and another new front seat
cover. Ran really well before it pulled this stunt. Has had a new in tank pump, fuel lines, fuel filter, shift
knob and has a Pioneer cassette AM/FM radio in the original space in the dash. Current registration and
license. Both cars still have the fuel injection but no pulse air tubes. Will throw in a 76 or 77 regular
Vega rear end out of a 5 speed car. Trans, driveshaft, trailing arms, shocks, GT wheels and tires, and
torque arm all go too as well as some GT wheels if wanted, and a spare set of Cosworth wheels. Titles in
my possession and they are clear Iowa titles. Gave $1300 for the car when I bought it. Since the city has
me over a barrel, make me an offer on the whole kit and caboodle and will see where it goes. I know I
won't get anywhere close to what I have in the 2 cars, but can't bear to see them go to the scrap yard.
Have pictures of 3004 if wanted. Contact info in the CVOA Magazine under Region 9 director. Located

Car was bought by Donald Hawbaker of central Iowa and is in his possession in January of 2004. He wrote:
“Bought #3004 last fall for $1300. Is in the low category for condition. Paint poor, rust around windshield, but a
fixable and complete running car. Plans are for #3004 to be a slightly modified car. As of October of 2004 he plans
Webers and a 2.25” exhaust. It is a mahogany car and it will be repainted in bc/cc and will retain the stock wheels.

Yahoo message 1304.
Here are some September, 2003 photos of the CV. It is number 3004. As you can see the paint is original
but in bad shape. The car was from GA and the fellow I got it from had it undercoated when it was new.
The body is very nice over all. Floors doors fenders are all solid with a few spots of surface rust. The
problem spot is around the windshield it has started to rust and you would have to remove it and repair
the damage. Here is a list of the parts I replaced over the last few years. They have no miles on them I
think I drove the car less then 500 miles since I got it. In tank fuel pump, HP fuel pump (rebuilt), cap,
rotor, plug wires, coil, coil /distributor harness, K & N air filter & exhaust. When I went to start it today
fuel started squirting out of the fuel rail/injectors. The seals have dried up from sitting too much. I did
buy of the o‐ring seals but did not put them in. I do still have them. I also sent the ECU to HME and they
tested it and it was ok. They also sent me their test kit and I swapped out the MAP, water temp and air
temp sensors and it did not fix the stalling problem. I have the build sheet, a reproduction window
sticker, assembly manual and some literature, as well as a bunch of stuff from the last owner and
receipts ... To make the bargaining less stressful I have asked $1600.00 for the car and I am very firm on
that point. If I can’t sell it I will store it until I can make the time to finish working on it. Thank you for
your interest and if you want to talk to me you can call at 608‐963‐0925 or email me your number and I
will call you. Steve Prouty, proaginc@jvlnet.com

Pretty solid car has some surface rust but not full of holes. Solid floor pans also. Would make a great old school hot rod. Title is currently in the mail should be back any day. Then Chris Wheaton posted this item for sale in May of 2004: “This dash number plaque is from Cosworth Twin
Cam Vega # 3014. The car was cut up but the dash plate still lives on. The gold is a little worn but as you can see
in the picture, it still looks fine. Chevrolet made 3508 Cosworth Vegas and each one was given a dash plaque like
this. This also comes with the 2 original mounting nuts attached. Add this to your collection of automotive
history. Thanks for looking.” Not sure what the answer is. Ed.
