My first Cosworth was #3069. Present whereabouts unknown. I am following a lead. It was a parts car
when I sold it. The original owner totaled it within a few months. His name is Kent Sanderson and he
literally broke the car in half. It was then clipped from the firewall back and a shoddy job at that. I
originally bought it from a car lot and joined CVOA when I found out about it. I lost track of the car in
Clanton, Alabama in 1987 or so. I'm going to see if it still exists and buy it back. I rebuilt the engine in
#3069 and put a 5 speed in it. The engine was a breeze and ran w/o a hitch. I did blow 2 computers. I
may still have one and know what caused it. The fusible link coming from the starter had a break inside.
I got an occasional jerk when I drove it. Blew one computer. Put the other one in before I found the
intermittent miss. I had to park it at the time. I may have one of them and please correct me if I am
wrong but, I think there is a diode or circuit that blows to protect the rest of the computer. Billy

According to a couple of emails from Billy Ray Doose of Alabama in January of 2008, “I have been
looking for a Cosworth for awhile. I once owned #3069. The VIN was, going from memory,
1V77O6U216410. I sold #3069 some time ago instead of watching it rot. #3069 was first owned by a
guy named Kent Sanderson aka rich daddy. He nearly broke the car in half by hitting a tree sideways on
the right side. I spoke with someone who saw it. It was new and almost totaled. The only original parts
of the body left were the cowl, left door, left front fender, hood and maybe the right front fender. The
rest was a clip so obvious I caught it when I first saw the car. It was traded for a VW in early 80's at
Midfield Volkswagen in Bessemer. I bought it from a little second hand lot next to them. They paid
600.00 for it and I gave them $1000.00. I didn't want it to get away. It was the first one I had ever seen.
The last I hear, it was somewhere around Clanton, Alabama.” 205‐267‐6792.

im guessing that most of the cosworths have been found or a counted for so I'm just putting this out there.
1976 cos. Number 3071 is sitting in one of our buildings, it's not for sale and hopefully be rebuilt one day. My
brother has owned the car since around 1981 or 82. has not been on the road since 84 maybe 85. We had
two of them a 75 and this one. I know the 75 had the motor pulled and a small block put in it, lost contact
with that car years ago. Jeff Melton, Rootstown, Ohio – Facebook Post on Cosworth Vega Owners Page

I took this car in trade when I sold my low mileage Cosworth Back in April or May. It came
out of California and the interior had been changed to Black since the original Buckskin Interior had
turned to dust (as they all seem to do). The original engine had been replaced due to a thrown rod
which basically destroyed the engine. I sold the engine out of the car back two months ago and have the
EFI System currently listed on eBay. Sold for over $1500.

Bought by John Dubovsky and will be used as a daily driver. No rust, not even under battery! Sat in a
warehouse for 20 years with a bad motor. Prior owner had it. Piston went bad. Bragg did not take the
motor when he bought the car, so it is long gone. It is a 5‐speed.
Traded to Tim Morgan in a deal for “Queenie”. Tim removed and sold the engine, and is parting the car
out on eBay in November of 2005. The EFI system is being offered complete, and the body and trans are
being offered separately with the following ad: This is an Orange with Black Interior 76 Chevrolet
Cosworth Vega Rolling Chassis. The car has a 4.10 open rear end, Borg Warner 5 Speed Transmission and
Cosworth Vega Cast Aluminum Wheels. This auction is for the car only NO ENGINE OR EFI SYSTEM is
included!!!!!
