Here is a blast from the past that will be a hot ticket here at CRUISIN CLASSICS. 1975 Chevrolet Vega Cosworth #0735. Title states Actual Miles of only 4,925. These rare birds were seen on occasion and the owners of them lived by them. The Cosworth was a 4 cylinder, Twin Cam, 110hp, special edition. While not setting records in the quarter mile, it did take the Vega to another level. Back in the day (1969), John DeLorean was given charge of the Chevrolet Division of General Motors. Fast forwarding a few years, the Cosworth was supposed to be the "import killer" with the influx of imported vehicles. They were only made for 2 years (75-76) with a total number for both years being 3057 produced. All were numbered with this one being #0735 out of 2061 made in '75. Unfortunately the popularity for the Cosworth did not come until decades later. There is a nationwide club of enthusiasts out there to keep the car alive.

This car in particular has been repainted and is of driver quality. The exterior and undercarriage show signs of use and perhaps long periods of storage. The unmistakable look of the Vega is masked by the Cosworth badging (mostly decals) and the Gold wheels. The Daytona tires have little to no tread loss so this is ready for the road right now. The interior is in superb condition from carpet to headliner, seats and general overall esthetics. The gold, swirl decal on the dash facia is in tact and also in great condition. In the pictures you can see for yourself that it is like it is supposed to be even as far as the number plate.

In general, the car runs great! No problem with starting, shifting, driving...anything. It is ready for the road. I would suggest that all Cosworth lovers get in line and check this baby out in detail. We welcome 3rd party inspectors and we will also encourage you to come see it in person.

If you have any additional questions, please call one of our friendly sales staff. According to a January, 2011 membership application, this car is owned by Robert Mieyal of Medina,
OH. The VIN is 1V77E5U222136. I met Bob and he shared that this car was put in a barn in 1988 and sat
there ever since. He decided he'd like to try and restore it, and talked the owner, who is coincidentally
88 into selling it. The owner's son and Bob are friends and the son will assist in the restoration. They
already drained the tank and put fresh gas in it, and a battery, and had it running! He has cleaned the
interior, and it cleaned up fairly well, but some mold has left some damage that is still visible. He says
the paint on the hood and the roof is crazed, so he plans on a complete repaint.

This car is owned by Chris Long. It is black/white. Chris says, “I got the car in the summer of 1999 in
Ohio. The person I bought the car from knew very little about the car or the history, just that it was
repainted in 1982. He did not have any papers or literature to go with it, just the title and registration.
The car had 27,9xx miles on it when I bought it. The engine had a complete rebuild before I started to
drive it.” ~CHRIS VIN‐ 222595

I bought my CV (#0755) in 1975 because it wasn't the norm. Today I am in the process of bringing her
back from the dead. Why? Because it still isn't the norm. Anybody can buy or build a Hot Rod. It takes
time and energy to keep something original. To me the re‐sale value of the car doesn't make any
difference. I love the Car. Enough said. Tim Seman. Dagrumps, High Point, NC.
I'm in the process of putting #0755 back together after a complete teardown. I think half‐heimers is
setting in. I have disassembled two Cosworths and I don't remember a "cushion" between the bottom of
the car and the top of the rear spring. The 75 CV Assembly Manual says yes, my mind says no. Who is
right? In order to powder coat the rear track bar (tie bar in the assembly manual), I removed the rubber
bushings. After reading Tips and Tricks I see these were manufactured into the bar. I do see that some
people are using 84 and up Camaro bushings from Energy Suspension. Does anyone have the Energy
Suspension part number or the part name on the Camaro they are suppose to fit? Last question for
now, does anyone have a 1976 Vega proportioning value they would like to sell? I'm upgrading to Monza
brakes and this is the last part I need.
He brought it back, and won the top award in the Concours in 2011 at Carlisle.
