According to a June 2007 email, this car now belongs to David Waxman of Clarksburg, WV. He plans to
restore it. dwaxman@ma.rr.com He reports that the previous owner kept vehicle in garage for 17
years, ran it once a year, never got to restoring it. Roof has primer paint only (previously had rust/leaf
stains), hood has been sanded to bare metal, front quarter panels have 3‐5 inch rust‐through areas at
wheel wells, interior carpeting needs replaced, upper dash is cracked and peeling, 2 fuel injectors have
leaks, but the car seems to start and run well. My first car was a 1973 Vega that I purchased new at age
16. I am looking forward to getting this 1975 Cosworth Vega restored, and having fun driving it. The VIN
is 1V77E5U231892, and it has 35,108 miles. He later added that “I purchased #0943 on 4/13/07 from a
guy in Dayton, Ohio. It had 35,108 miles on it. He had purchased it 2nd (or 3rd) hand. He found it in
someone's back yard with a tree limb sitting on the roof 17 years previous. He had primed the (stained)
roof. He had the hood off sanded to bare metal. He would run it once a year, and according to the title,
only put on 1572 miles over the 17 years. He was planning to restore the vehicle, but never had the
time or resources.
#0943 VIN 1V77E5U231892 “I'll try and attach some photos; I've had the hood primed now. The car
seems to run well. I've had a mechanic doing some work for me. The car would smell bad of gas sitting in
the garage‐ the high pressure fuel pump was cracked (was still working) ‐ replaced, and no more gas
smell, but the new pump is a little noisy (whine). Brake lines and front brake pads replaced. In next
couple weeks hope to get interior worked on‐ new carpet, maybe seats redone. Overall the seats
looked good; just one small tear along the side of the driver's seat, but sun tore up the carpet/ seat
junction on the top/back of the back seat. Dash has serious sun damage on its upper surface; do you
have a moderate priced solution? (Just Dashes wanted >$600 and 10 weeks to rebuild).
Exterior/ repainting to be done hopefully in next couple months.”

1975 Chevy Vega Cosworth #944, super rare odd ball car. Fuel injected dual overhead cam aluminum 4 banger with a four speed and 3:73 rear end . Best used for parts only unless you are a diehard Cosworth fan and want to restore, fair amount of rust and no title or previous reg. Lots of hard to find parts and I have two original Cosworth wheels that come with the car, it has Vega gt wheels on it now. The car does not run, sat out side for a long time, most likely stuck and needs a rebuilt, bring a trailer $1500 obo would trade for a good big block chevy motor ,6.0 ls motor, three wheelers, quads, dirt bikes??

UNKNOWN DATE: Cosworth Vega #0944: Iam looking to sell it preferably to someone who is involved in a restoration of a similar Cosworth. The car is completely intact but suffering from some extensive surface rusting on the body. I also have the original Shop & Service manual for the Cosworth VEGA, which was purchased from Chevrolet when the vehicle was new. The vehicle is at my home in Johnston, Rhode Island and if helpful I can send anyone interested some digital photos. Please contact me at my E-mail address "mbarnes281@aol.com" or on my cell phone at 401-952-8434. Sincerely, Mark D. Barnes

E‐mail received by John J. Cowall through e‐bay 12‐16‐14 Hi John. These cars were #0950 a 75 cosworth
and #2882 a 76. the 75 was bought as a parts car 20+ yrs ago. It had 42000 on motor and about 57000?
on body. motor was replaced with a v‐8 because of under hood fire but was back in car when i bought it.
The 76 cosworth was bought in 1984, orange on buckskin, then the motor threw a rod at about
52000,then pulled. Because of no internet parts were hard to locate. When parts were located and
purchased a lot of time had gone by. Fast forward. Two years ago needing the money these cars were
sold. They reside in the Greenville Michigan area. Hope this helps you. Anything else let me know. Don

This car was listed on eBay in March of 2013 with the following: "Kendall Johnson Customs, we are
CLEANING OUT! We are moving all of our take off, scratch & dent, old inventory, and collectibles. Here is
a 1975 Chevy Vega Cosworth edition number 952. We purchased this car from a lady whose husband
passed away about 20 years ago. The lady had keep the car in their back yard all this time. The car has
rust on all body panels of the car, the engine will turn over and run with starting fluid being used, the
fuel in the car is dead, the fuel pump may need to be replaced as well. The car has a clear title. The
mileage is listed as it appears on the odometer, we are unable to verify if it is correct. This is just a cool
old collector car form the 70's, back then a dual over head cam was state of the art technology. Don't
miss out on this deal! If you have any questions please feel free to call us at (336) 748‐3833.
Car is located in Winston‐Salem, NC.

Jarron Johnston in Australia is the new owner.
I found an old add online from 2006 I believe so was probably imported around then possibly sooner, I got it last year. I would have to check the paperwork in the car to be sure it's with my brother in a different city to me at the moment

This Morrow Bay, California car appeared on eBay in September of 2007. The ad reads: “California
Chevrolet Cosworth Vega Z09 gold engine! Code named XP‐887! This is number 0951 bought and
owned since 1975 by the same owner!!! All original documents included!!! Not reproductions! Only
3,508 were ever sold, compared to the highly sought after 63 Corvette split window, which had 13,000
produced! In 1975 the Cosworth sold for 600.00 less than a new 1975 Corvette! Vehicle had engine
pulled at 50,000 miles by general motors to verify condition and to update excess amount of oil from
pump to top end!! Motor was freshened up and new rings, gaskets, etc. were installed! Necessary valve
work was also performed!! As far as extra parts there are too many to list, such as a complete gold
motor with 2 complete computers (the computers are said to literally be worth their weight in
gold!!) And 2 complete Bendix fuel injection systems!!! There is also an extra set of wheels, a Cosworth
starter, new flywheel, new cams, new pistons, all new complete to assemble gold motor at 12.5:1
compression! No smog necessary! Great vehicle and truly a once in a lifetime chance! Vehicle is sold
as‐is. No warranty, implied, stated or otherwise!” The VIN is 1V77E5U232490.

Offered in the 100th issue of the CV magazine. The ad says it has 75,000 miles. Stored in a climate
controlled garage for 20 years. Supposedly it needs a new fuel line as it won’t stay running—sputters
out after a few seconds. Says it ran very well the last time it was driven, about 10 years ago. Very dusty.
It is in his partnt’s basement. Could be a show car with very little work. Taylor Hood, 336‐239‐0311.
