According to a February 2013 email, this car now belongs to Brian Couch, of Couch's Body and Frame
Shop, Clarksville, IN (812‐944‐4044).  He wrote:  I am restoring CV # 0079 that I have owned for the last
year and a half. Do you have a suggestion of who I can find to remove some scratches and polish out
these aluminum bumpers?  I have been in the body shop business here in Southern Indiana for over
thirty years but have never tackled polishing this much aluminum surface area. We tried a scratched
area and sanding thru the anodized layer is as far as we went. Appears to be very time consuming
without proper polishing equipment. Any suggestions would be appreciated.  We have stripped the car
.Disassembled the body. Fixed the body flaws. Then painted original black while disassembled.  Sanded
flat and buffed slick as glass. New seals and w/strips. It deserves good looking bumpers.  Right now we
are starting with 80 grit to remove the anodizing , nicks and scratches. It's a pretty good bumper to start
with. Graduating the grits in 200 grit increments appears to work decent. Regular buffing with rubbing
compound and then by hand with aluminum polish is doing a decent job. This car is in excellent
condition now. I may let it go at that and someone else can re‐anodize if they want. I need to recon one
set of wheels and buy the stripes from Phoenix graphics. Then it's done. With real slick paint and new
exterior parts, seals and weather‐strips etc. I hope to turn the car for 10‐12k.I'm sure I'll have all of that
invested in it. It may be at Mecum Auctions in Indy in mid May.

Tim Coughlin- Lousiana - Here are some pictures of 0081. I don't remember how I got in touch with the
owner, but in 1985 it was owned Jamie Hurry in Donaldsonville, LA. The car had a lot of work done to it. 2L
high compression, webers, BD3 cams, HD block. Inside it had a roll bar. Fiberglass bumpers. I do not know
what happened to the car other than it was sold

This car is located in Kansas City and is owned by Bob Harwood (aka bossnews1 on eBay).  He writes:
“Hi Mark, I'm selling CV #82.  Currently it is using the ECU out of #1459.  I'd like to keep 1459’s ECU with
it.  I've done a lot of tinkering with #82 and can't pin down the reason it won't rev past 4500 RPM.  It
runs just fine until you try to take it past 4500, then it just flatlines.  I've pored over the two volumes of
Tips & Tricks, and gone through my copies of TCT, and can't seem to find the right heading or entry.  I'm
sure this is because I'm in such a hurry to find the answer I'm reading right past it. Any direction you can
give me as to the problem or where in the T&T or TCT would be greatly appreciated.  If you have sold
the ECU is there someplace else I can send it? I have a friend who teaches electrical engineering here at
K.U.  Do you know what piece of equipment he would need to test it? Thanks for your help Mark.  Bob.
He then wrote, after receiving a suggestion that he check the TPS, that, “Hi Mark, I swapped out 1459s
TPS. The result was smoother operation throughout the RPM range up to a little over 5000 RPM. After
that it kicks and sputters as it did before. Jumped tooth on the timing belt? Went to the muffler shop
only to find #82 has a Cherry Bomb straight line glass pack.  So I was able to eliminate the muffler
theory.  I now have a much bigger issue with #82.  Our freshly retired, long time chancellor at of the
University of Kansas left his mark on #82 when he drove through a stop sign, striking the right side just
behind the door & going to the bumper. The nice police officer gave him a ticket. I will welcome ALL the
input I can get from anyone on how to position myself for a settlement. This is the first dent on the car.
The car is no longer a low mileage, low number, high optioned, undamaged original, historical,
(priceless? LOL) car. The damage really isn't that bad. But it's across the wheel opening‐ a bad place. My
goal is this; to keep it out of the hands of the insurance company. No question, if the insurance company
takes the car, they will simply throw out all the provenance I've collected on this car and sell it to the
highest bidder for who knows what purpose. I'm sure the insurance company will total the car because
the car desperately needs paint anyway. So any repairs will require a complete repaint of the car. I had
just written an ad for Craigslist to sell the car next week and had at least two serious buyers lined up to
deal with. I suppose if I get back what I have in the car and get to keep the car I could live with that.
However, I believe the car has now lost some of its value because of the damage. It's no longer a"
survivor".  I guess what I'm saying is I want to maximize the opportunity and preserve the car. I may be
challenged by the good chancellor. He told the officer he came to a complete stop‐‐‐ it wasn't even a
rolling stop, he just drove through it. And that's the way the officer saw it as well.  Back to the car. If the
timing belt has jumped a tooth, then I've gone as far as I'm going to go to correct problems, at least as
far as spending money is concerned.  The GM shop supplement says the TPS is not serviceable. True or
false?  Would a parts store be able to get one through Bosch? I'd like to open up the TPS off #82 and
take a look at it. Has anyone successfully repaired one? Regarding the ECU question, the only thing I
might have that might be of interest to you is the original never been out of the trunk (until now) spare .
It's just new. At any rate, monetary expenditures on# 82 are on hold until the insurance issue is
resolved .Thanks in advance for your input. Bob Harwood”
