This is my third Cosworth (#0856). I bought the first one, #1428, on July 6, 1976 (I had turned 17 that day and it was my first car). I purchased it at Malcom Konner Chevrolet, which was known as a performance oriented Chevy dealer. Unfortunately that one was wrecked the following year. I had it repaired but it was a botch job and I don't see any record of the car still existing today. The second one was #1488, which I bought from David Dempsey. It ran well but needed more bodywork than I was ready to put into it. It is now in a museum in Israel (with bodywork completed but to a so-so quality level).
Thank you for serving as president of the COVA. Your service is important and meaningful to all Cosworth Vega owners.
Best regards,
Gary Cohen

Unknown Date. Hi, My friend in Israel Ami Lapidot contacted you at my suggestion as he needs the two fuel pumps for his Cosworth Vega (#1488). I sold him this car some years back which I originally bought from David
Dempsey. After I sold #1488 I replaced it with #856 which had less than 1000 miles on it when I bought
it. I'm a member of the CVOA.
If it makes things easier I can buy the two fuel pumps (the one in the fuel tank and the one under the
rear seat) and I'll get them over to Ami. Can you let me know if you have these available, and if so, how
much they cost? I can then pay you by PayPal or send a check or use a credit card if you accept them.
I had also owned a Cosworth Vega that I bought new in July 1976, #1428 (it was a 1975 model), that was
actually my first car. I worked five years to save enough for it, and unfortunately it was wrecked 10
months later (due to a drunk driver on the road). It was repaired but not well and I had to give it up. I
still have the 1978 Nova (305 V8, 4 speed, posi rear, F41) that I replaced it with.
Best regards, Gary

According to a December 14, 2007 email, this car is now owned by Derek Marks. He wrote: I have
purchased a Cosworth Vega # 1430. I have not received it yet or seen it yet. It appears to be a car in
good shape but in need of some restoration. I purchased the car on a whim because I remembered
them when I was in my teens and liked their looks. golfderek@hotmail.com

Offered out of East Windsor, CT in November of 2007 on eBay. “This is a limited edition auto that has
been in my family for 18 years‐ runs good, original paint is fair to good, two very minor dents and one
fairly substantial one on front left fender. Last registered two years ago. Needs some attention but is
very drivable as is. Car #1430. Body has two dents Dentmaster could take out, and one dent visible in
picture that would require body work‐but the floor, trunk, and interior are good. If you wanted a show
car it would need paint. Starts, runs, charges, looks good, good tires and brakes, engine logy at low rpms
and hunts at idle. This car has only been run about 3000 miles in 18 years so fresh gas and tune‐up
might cure.” VIN is 1V77E5U255741. The mileage is listed as 92,974. According to an email from the
owner, Scot Stanton: “I bought this car about 17‐18 years ago from a Reggie Smith who owned a gas
station in East Windsor, CT. I'm not sure where he lived but I think it was Tolland, CT. He was dying of
cancer and closed his business and sold all his "toys". At that time he told me he bought it from the
original owner and I don't remember who that was. During the last 17 years I sold it to my brother
Thomas L Stanton and then bought it back. I have a box of information on this car and will look to see if I
can identify the original owner. Both my brother and I have been members of CVOA, so you might
access some info that way. Thank you. Scot.”

I have my car listed on the registry. It’s 1437 and I have own it since ‘89 i think. I was a member back then and recently been on the CVOA FB page. I have a ton of questions once I try to get the car back on the road and save it from rusting away. It’s now or never!

Hello Roger,
I completely understand! Just know the CVOA is here if you need us down the line for anything. Do not hesitate to reach out to myself or Bryan Pridmore, he is the CVOA West Regional Director.
Just a quick question. Do you still own a Cosworth Vega? If so, what dash number is the car? (Or, if you sold it, do you remember the dash number?)
Thank You,
John J. Cowall

This was one of the three cars (#0279, #1440 and #3028) sold to Bill Hutton, who pulled the engines and
sold them to Oldsmobile. This shell was purchased from HME by Paul Wicker who, somehow, obtained
one of the three engines, but not the proper one, from Oldsmobile and installed it in the car. The other
two engines landed back with Bill Hutton and moved on from there to parts unknown. Paul has the car
in storage with less than 1000 miles as of 2000.

EBay ad. This car is a complete car. I have a parts car to go with it, a 1976 Vega. The Cosworth was a
driver, it developed a miss, and it had a burnt valve. I pulled the cylinder head off and couldn't find 2
exhaust valves, so that’s where it stands. The engine however was sound, no smoke‐ no knock. The car
on a scale of 1‐‐‐10 is about 5. It has some rust in the usual places, the interior is in pretty good
condition; it's white, the car is black. The production number is 1441, there were only 2061 of these
made in 1975 and 1446 in 1976, so there aren't too many of them around. It would make an excellent
project car for someone who has a shop and plenty of time to tinker around. I don't have that anymore,
so I would like to pass it on to someone that does. If you would like to see more photos or have any
questions, e‐mail me. Please do not bid on it unless you intend to pay for it. It is sold as is‐‐ where it is.
Buyer has 7 days to pay in full and arrange for pick‐up, no exceptions. Both cars have clear titles.

Appeared for sale on eBay in July of 2005: For sale is this 1975 Cosworth Vega. This car does not run but
is really good shape considering it has been sitting outside since 1984. The body is solid except for the
battery area, which is in pretty rough shape. Just surface rust on the rest. Interior is complete but filthy.
The engine in the car is frozen but I have another engine that is complete but disassembled. I have the
part to fix the battery area of the body. I also have an extra tranny/bell housing, exhaust and so on. Also
have extra Cosworth specific gas tank. I also have some parts the car needs, blower switch etc. Wheels
are not stock but have four bead blasted stock ones that will need refinishing. Car rolls freely, the
parking brake even works. Car sold as is. It did not sell and he scrapped it.
