Last weekend I replaced the rear speakers, the radio and Amps worked great!! Some of you may have seen my Facebook post with the radio playing. :)

I got a little over-optimistic and tried to play a cassette tape in the radio. That was a BAD idea!! It did not work and the tape got stuck in the head unit. Yesterday, I removed the head unit and took it apart and finally got the tape out. The job required taking the radio apart twice, but after the second time the radio is working again, no tape player. It is a bummer that the cassette tape player does not work... but since I want to keep this car as close as to the way it was created, getting the radio side of the head unit working is a HUGE victory !!

Today I am starting to clean and paint the spare tire well. I am covering the rust with black POR15. I am going to lose the stock paint look in the tire well, but feel this is an acceptable compromise since I am doing a preservation versus a restoration. I am also cleaning some of the interior plastics in preparation of getting the interior back together. All the plastics are in very good condition and are cleaning up nicely.
