#3136 Engine Update
Well, started the engine tear down after breaking the cam belt. Pulled the cam carrier cover off, and found this. The intake cam broke! I also found two tappet bucket shims cracked. After pulling the head, I found at least 4 valves were bent. Luckily, the bottom end is still good. No damage to the pistons. So, I'll be getting a new intake cam (430 lift Crane Cam), and replacing the valves. This is a 2.4L engine with a ported head and 11 to 1 compression pistons.

David, Interference will always depend on valve lift and piston design. Running stock cams and moderate compression pistons - 10:1 - there should be no interference, assuming your piston designer did a good job with valve reliefs. You are in luck though, as the Morgan designed flat top pistons that he has made do provide adequate clearance with stock cams. Anna is running these in her CV and they work very well.
