I know this really doesn't apply to all current members, but if you recall, the old site, the join process was dis-jointed from the payment process. After you filled out the form it actually STORED the membership entry and emailed the user their credentials. We had no real way to ensure that they actually followed thru and went to PayPal to make the payment thereby completing the process! Fortunately we have an honest group of folks in the CVOA! Yesterday we rolled out the new Wix version of the Join process. Upon completion of the form, it HOLDS the values in a temporary state, then automatically advances you to PayPal, accepts the payment to the CVOA account, returns to the CVOA website with a go/no-go status. If successful, it 1) calculates the expiration date, 2) sets the Region, 3) sets membership status to ACTIVE, and 4) sends email to the Membership Director, the Webmaster AND the member.

If payment method chosen was Mail In, it sets the membership status to PENDING and does the same as above (settings and notifications). I plan on extending this to also email the appropriate Regional Director letting them know they have a new member in their region.
