Offered for sale on eBay in December of 2002. Car is in good condition for a 1976. Miles are very low—28,000. It runs well and can be driven anywhere. It's been in many shows. It is number 2585 of very few made. It has a four cylinder all aluminum dual overhead cam engine. It has MECHANICAL fuel injection like the 327 fuelie Corvettes. That means it revs high and makes tons of power. It has a 5-speed overdrive transmission and a posi in the rear end. Has new tires, exhaust, and many other new parts. Can be restored easily, almost no rust on the car. Has never seen snow! Please email any other questions. Good condition, low miles. Does not have a warrantee. Car is available at all times for a test drive. I have done my best to represent this car well, please come see it if possible! Located in Fancher, NY. Fastcarfanatic.
NOTE TO BOB, CHRIS AND STEVE—THIS CAR WAS PREVIOUSLY LISTED AS #0585, BECAUSE THAT IS THE NUMBER THE LISTER USED IN THE TEXT. The real #0585 has now been located in Pennsylvania, unearthing this error.
According to info provided by John J. Cowall in early 2014, the VIN of this car is unknown, thought it is believed to be a Firethorn car once owned by Robert Bickerstaff.

Offered for sale on the Yahoo Group site in June of 2007. “I want to sell my 1976 Cosworth Vega, #2594. It ran good when parked 12 years ago. It's a factory 4 speed, it's black, original wheels, and all the glass is good. It has original paint and has never been wrecked. The body is straight but has the usual rust. The interior needs TLC. I have a late model GM 5 speed spare cam tower with Crane cams, cam gears, valves and more spare parts. I'm open to any reasonable offer. I'm in the San Diego area. I will transport it any reasonable distance. Dan (danheimbaugh@yahoo.com)”

Appeared again in February of 2008 with the following text: “Here at auction is a stunning 1976 Cosworth Twin Cam Vega with only 8963 original miles. This car has been in me or my partner’s hands for many years and was bought from the second owner. It has always been a garage piece and driven a few hundred miles a year to keep it "happy". It has only one interior flaw...the threads on the driver seat back have come loose. The other obvious imperfection is it could use some detail work under the hood. This car runs and drives as a Brand new Cosworth .I have owned several of these cars and this one is a keeper. Unfortunately, I have a new Hemi crate motor to pay for and need cash, so the Cosworth has to go. Will make a dandy weekend cruiser! Drive it home to California...It's that good!! 30+ on gas economy.” Seller’s eBay handle is rocketman4parts and says the car is in Cleveland, NC.

Appeared on eBay again in January of 2007. The ad read, “Here for auction is my original Cosworth Vega with only 8962 actual miles. I drive this car once in a while in the fall. It was in MSO title until 1992.I had this car stripped and repainted Basecoat/Clearcoat just this last spring. The original paint was starting to show some deterioration. This car has ZERO rust. It has only a small separation in the driver’s seat from the threads letting go. (Pictured). The underhood insulation is starting to look poor and needs replaced. Otherwise the car is nearly perfect. It runs, drives, shifts and stops like a new car and needs nothing but a new owner/driver. I love this car dearly, but I need to sell some of my collection to facilitate a few new business deals so it goes. Thanks and check out my other auctions. YOU'LL LOVE THIS LITTLE RIDE. IT'S A BLAST TO DRIVE!!! QUESTIONS, CALL KURT HUNTINGTON @ 704-278-3222.

Offered on eBay in February of 2004 as follows: This is a rare 1976 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega with 7408 miles. The dash number is 2597 of 3508 built in 1975 and 1976 with only 1447 being built in 1976. The car has a four-speed, swing out side windows, am fm Delco radio, rear defogger, rear seat speaker, and auxiliary lighting. I don't know the rear end ratio or whether it has posi, it does leave two black marks but one is lighter than the other. The car runs strong and will chirp the tires shifting into third gear. The car also drives like a new car from the 70’s. The overall condition of this car is very good but this car is not perfect. The paint is dead on this car; it looks good from 25 feet but to be a #2 car it will need a paint job. To be a driver, just paint the hatch door (the paint is crazing on the hatch). This car has a few very small dings in the doors, the wheel of the spare tire has some rust stains and corrosion caused buy a cloth bag that got wet when the rear window leaked. The carpet is faded to a charcoal color from the sun. It sat outside one summer in Phoenix, and it has a small tear in the carpet at the top of the rear seat. The clock does not work, and it sounds like the water pump is starting to make a little noise. The air tubes are off the car but go with the vehicle. There are two boxes with new fender stripes with the Cosworth Vega logo that go with the car. I also have the glove box manual and misc. paper work showing previous history such as a bill of sale showing the car sold in September of 92 with 1233 miles on it for $6,500.00 in Vermont and is listed as new. There is some surface rust on the bottom right corner of the windshield and the bottom right corner of the hatch window--see pictures. These can be an easy fix when painting the car. See pictures. This car should appreciate in the future but I have too many projects so it has to go. The reserve on this car is lower than the last Cosworth Vega that didn't sell on eBay. This one would have sold.

A black car purchased by Jim Rigg in February of 1976. He reported in his May of 1991 newsletter: “I have a black 76 (2607) which I bought in February of that year. I was living in the San Francisco area then and was sure surprised to find that someone who lived just 3 blocks away had bought a 75…. ( # 0125 ). The car has always been fun to drive and I have put some long trips on it. I moved to Denver and drove it through the winters and kept up on the washes. Denver winters can be a bit much. I recall one morning plowing through 4” of untracked snow on the freeway onramp at 4 AM and nearly buying a light post because the front end was not moving as fast as the back end wanted…The Cos was a shop hound at first. Between warranty work on the “paint” and a computer glitch it was not unusual for me to only have it on alternate weekends. Then two things happened. First, I discovered that the people in the shop did not want to work on the car and second, I got in touch with CVOA. So, what have I done with my car? When the clock quit, I put an oil pressure gauge in. It was fate because the clock quit about the same day the tech bulletin arrived. I also rewired the amber taillight section. I refinished my wheels and replaced my timing belts, fuel lines, and injectors to name a few all with the help of the CVOA. I now have my car repainted and re-striped. I have installed Pontiac Astre taillights and an Astre three piece spoiler. With a JC Whitney louver over the back window and tinted side windows, it all looks pretty good. I also have either a dead spot on the starter or the starter solenoid to work on.
19 years later: The starter problem was a bad fuel pump. The original 5-speed seemed loud after the first year (1978 ). I swapped it out for a '79 some years ago and it was just as loud. So back to the original. It gets out in the winter here in AZ about every other week and in the summer if I can be home before it hits 95 degrees. 120K miles and I have to say it has not had any serious problems ( Tap on my head ).
