According to a January, 2008 membership application and follow‐up email, this car is now owned by
Allen J. Bartlett of New London, NH. The VIN is 1V77O6U196338. It is a firethorn car. He reports: “I
purchased this car in non‐running condition and had it shipped up to NH from Georgia. Snowstorm
delivery after dark on a dead end street was not my idea of fun. Nor was it the truckers’. They were
from Georgia and drove for two days through snow in NY, VT, and NH doing deliveries. I think it was
their first experience with a real nor‐Easter, with wind, snow and cold. I am a neophyte on Cosworths
and will welcome the technical assistance from the CVOA. Will likely need a lot of help in getting the FI
system to work. I have admired the Cosworth since it came out in the 70's. Bought a '76 Pinto (mistake)
instead of a Vega for daily transportation. I have the car in storage and will be pulling it out in the
spring. Al

April, 2004: I have a 1976 Cosworth Vega I’m selling, and I ran across your club's website online. I
would like to know if I can place my car in your classified section without being a member of your
organization. I've recently listed the car on collectorcarsonline.com, but did not get any interest. I know
there is a huge fan base for this type of car, I just need to search them out and find the best tool to
reach them, and I feel your website would be the way. I welcome any suggestions you may have on how
I can go about getting the Cosworth I have into the hands of someone who needs it! Thanks in advance
for you help! Jimmy. Car info: 76 Cosworth Vega, #2804, has 65,000 miles and has been in storage for
15 years. Does not run. Asking $3,300 or trade. <felicimo@access4less.net>

Was an original CVOA member in 1980, and a Region VIII Director. Sold my car in 1982 and previous
owner called me and I repurchased my old CV, #2804, Firethorn. Looking forward to restoring the old
girl (still in original and ok shape) and rejoining the group. Have original papers and build sheet.

Listed by Auction House Raleigh Classics in North Carolina. Someone did some good detail work to the car. Looks fantastic, restored rims, some paint touch up (not much. There was some paint missing towards top of hatch, looks to have been blended, repaired.) For sale at auction May 1, 2021.

I'm located in Atlanta, as was the previous owner. He had registered it w/ CVOA in the 80‐90's. It has
55,659 miles, been repainted once & is believed to have all the original components except for the radio
& speakers. It's factory blue metallic, VIN #1V7706U196560. I am the 3rd owner. The body's VERY
straight and has no rust. Has all 5 wheels...spare has never been out of the trunk. Interior is very nice
except for a small tear in the pass seat (top). Previous owner says he had/has the window sticker & I
suspect the build sheet is still in the car somewhere. The only options I know it has are the pop out rear
windows & 5‐speed tranny. It was sold at Benson Chevrolet in Roswell Ga. I was told that this one's
pretty rare because of the color‐previous owner said only 4 were built or know to exist. I can send non
digital pics as I'm practically computer illiterate. It has been sitting since 1996, but after the injectors
were cleaned, oil & plugs changed it runs great! I'm sorry to say that I have no true interest in the car
other than the fact that I like to find rare cars, buy them & get them to people who enjoy putting them
to good use. Making a little $$ on them doesn't hurt either. I think I know who has the 35K CV & expect
to see it go thru Russo‐Steel auction this month. His name is John Ohler & he collects lots of Yenko stuff.
Let me know if you know anyone that might be interested, or keep a lookout in Hemmings Motor News
(I'm old school & don't use eBay/scam bay). Thanks again, Jude Hettick, novamob2003@hotmail.com

According to an eBay listing in June of 2011, "This is a brass dash identification number badge from a
1975 Chevrolet Vega Cosworth. The #2811 is shown on the right side of the plaque. Information on
these numbers and plaques can be seen on the cosworthvega.com web site. This is an extremely rare
piece as this particular Vega was a limited edition model with a Cosworth engine, 16 valve, dual
overhead cam. This badge came from an original Cosworth Vega, that was totaled in a traffic accident."
Seller is 6alennoxstreet out of Riverview, FL.

The dash plaque and a Cosworth horn button were offered for sale on eBay in February of 2003. This
strongly suggests that the car has been scrapped. A reply from the seller said, “Hey Mark, I bought the
parts at a swap meet in Moultrie GA a few weeks ago. I'm not sure about the car, but the emblems are
nice. My guess would be the guy parted it out. Thanks, Carl Carlson

Offered for sale on eBay in December of 2003. This car is totaled but as it has not been scrapped, it is theoretically
capable of being restored. It is listed as RIP because there is no realistic possibility of that happening—there is too
much work to do and too little value in the final product to make it feasible. Seller says: the other Cosworth is also
a 76. It has been sitting since 1980. It only has 16k miles on it. In 80 it was in a hard left side collision leaving the
body junk. It also does run by bottle-feeding it. The gas tank has been removed but comes with it. This has a 4-speed
tranny. No title on the smashed car.
