In June he posted: I've got a 76 Cosworth for sale. #2881. Black w/gold. I've got a 76 Cosworth for sale.
Still has the catalytic converter, and in dash, factory, AC. Delco AM, FM, 8 track. Not a mark on the
interior! I'm looking for $15,000. ronsfastt@aol.com

In March of 2007 Ron posted: Hi: I recently acquired a 76, black Cosworth # 2881. I'm looking for the
interior R/side door panel (black). It's the only thing wrong with the interior. The chrome Mylar is
falling off. The car has 26,325 miles on it. It's just about perfect. It's been in a warm, dry garage for the
last 20 years. It is for sale in case anyone is interested.

This vehicle appeared for sale on eBay in November of 2006. The ad read: “I have a vehicle that I believe
will be recognized as a Great Investment! Up until now, the Cosworth Twin Cam has gotten very little
recognition, but I think when people realize that it's been 30 years since this vehicle has been built,
and Chevrolet only built 3,508 of them, people will get interested quickly! When this car came out, it
was priced $600 less than a Corvette. The ad for it said, “One Vega for the Price of Two". It was far
ahead of it's time! It had Cosworth Motor (well known for building Race Motors for Formula One Cars)
Dual overhead Cams, 4 valves per cylinder and fuel injection. (This was 1976.) I found this car in a
garage where it has been sitting for the last 25 years. (Dry and mouse free garage.) It has 26,325 miles
on it, and has been untouched except for occasionally starting it. I was afraid to look at the oil, but was
pleasantly surprised to see that it was beautifully clean! I'm shocked at how original this car is, right
down to the original, in dash, Delco, AM, FM 8 Track Player. It still has the original Delco Freedom
Battery. This Cosworth is # 2881 (# on dash). The dash is gold fish scale with all the gauges. I'll show
you the pictures, but before I do I'll tell you about the few flaws this car has. It is completely rust and
dent free! It has had some questionable paint work on the sides. (The sides are as straight as they can
be, see for yourself, and my magnet sticks everywhere). The wheels are scruffy and should be redone.
(It has the original gold anodized aluminum wheels) and the chrome Mylar is peeling off the interior
passenger door panel. If I don't sell it now, I'll take care of the paint, wheels and door panel and ask
more for it in the spring. Any questions, please email me at ronsfastt@aol.com Thanks for looking.
Ron.”

According to the spring 1991 Region 4 newsletter, this car was then owned by Mark Davis.
This is a Firethorn Cosworth belonging to Gary Bean and his son. They live in Randleman, NC, not far
from Richard Petty. The car runs poorly, and may be mistimed and may have the cam belt off a tooth.
They are also looking for a new dash pad for it.

This car is blue with a white interior. Joe bought it on 7/20/04. It had been stored for 26 years and only
had about 11,000 miles. He removed the front end (but not the fenders) and cleaned and painted
everything, and cleaned and detailed the engine compartment. See the photos in Photo Registry. The
car is super sano now (November of 2005). Ed.

In October of 2005 Joe wrote: Dear Mark, I e‐mailed you previously regarding my Cosworth Vega in
which I was looking for help with an "add coolant" light that stayed on. My local mechanic was trouble
shooting the problem and noticed that the ground wires were corroded. He thinks that the engine was
being ground through the clutch pedal. He cleaned the wires and reconnected them to the fender and
frame. When restarting the car, the "add coolant" light was not lit but the gauges were not functioning.
He replaced a broken fuse and tried to restart the car. The engine will turnover but it does not fire up.
Do you have any thoughts on what he should try next? Do you think it is computer related? Is there a
way to reset the computer? How do you pull back the codes? Do you know how I could get a wiring
diagram? My mechanic needs a "road map" to try to solve why the car will turn over but not run. I hope
you can help as I appreciated your assistance last fall. Thanks. Joe #2890. Problem turned out to be a
bad HP fuel pump.
