According to a March 2010 email, this car belongs to a Steve Rheinholt. He reports that he and his son
are “ in the process of fixing up #3287 to get it back to where it needs to be cosmetically as well as make
it road worthy. The paint on the wheels is discolored and we would like to restore them. Does anyone
have a paint code for the original gold color? Someone has to have gone through this before? reinholt@nwi.net

Next, John Cowall posted the following on Yahoo: Chris and everyone interested. The blue with white
interior CV for sale on eBay. Here are the details I know of it. I have seen the car, but that was before it
was repainted. It is an original blue CV, the white interior is in fair shape at best, with some yellowing,
and holes cut into the door panels for speakers as well the rear plastic panels. It had a blue carpet in ok
shape, not great. The car runs well, I even drove it a bit. The odometer may read 36K, but it has
definitely turned over, actual should be around 136K. The owner is the third or fourth owner of the car;
it has spent most if not all of its life here in Michigan. This is the fourth or fifth paint job on a car that the
current owner has done. I have one car that he painted black, #2550. It is not professional, but does
come out pretty good. He paints the cars in his garage. In my opinion, the car is worth about $2500. I
have not talked to the owner in a few months. If anyone has read the Region 8 newsletters, the owner is
Bernie Ellery, who has been active with CV's but never actually joined the CVOA. Hope this might help
any potential bidders. Later, John J. Cowall

Offered for sale on eBay in June of 2004. Car is located in Michigan, but came from Georgia. “1976
Cosworth Vega. Super Rare Blue Paint (3294). White interior. Original from Georgia but is in Michigan
now. Tinted glass, 5 speed, swing outs, am/fm stereo. Runs super, very clean body, new tires, new
front brakes and muffler. Fly in and drive her home. The pictures speak for themselves. I will sell an
extra running CV engine for $400.00 additional.” VIN is 1V77O6U222521, mileage is 36,456.
Then Chris posted on Yahoo: There is a blue/white Cosworth on eBay. The ad says it only has 36k miles.
I show that Cosworth had 98k miles back in the late 90's. The car looked nice from the photos. I wonder
what the interior looks like. I bid on it before I looked. Something to definitely watch out for with these
cars. Later, Chris

This is for Chris and Steve Larson. A new member who lives in Port Huron Michigan, just bought a Blue
CV, 3294. With it he aquired many of the parts from a parted out 75' #0292. I have plenty of info on former
owners for 3294, but do not have anything on 0292. Do either of you know anything about this car? 3294 is blue
with a white vinyl interior, a five speed, and in about a 3 condition. The gentleman plans on driving it
down to Louisville. He also now owns CV 0723, which he purchased off of me.

John,
Thank you for looking into the history of my car and responding. Also thank you for the compliment on my car, I know many Cosworth purists hate my car, but it was transformed well before I took ownership 8 years ago. I have a ton of build information from Danny Mercantini who did most of the transformation, but it was already modified before him. He bought it as a tubbed small block car (and then promptly stripped it completely down and reworked the entire car as it was a shoddy build. What I didn't know was the car spent time in South Carolina and I have no history of it whatsoever until Danny acquired it. As a Vega fan and a Pro Street fan it was a dream to get the car. I have also taken it down to the frame and built back (it developed significant frame damage in the front due to not being strengthened when the changes were made. That is all corrected now. I would love to find another factory original Cosworth to park next to VooDoo in the garage!
thanks again,
John Wales

Hello John,
I do not have much information on CV #3297. Back in 2001, in an Old Yahoo forum, a guy posted that he had bough the engine and transmission from the car, but no state or other locating info was given (not the best record keeping over the years! LOL) Only the first name was given of the purchaser, a Michael. According to the info this Michael was given with the engine was the car was rusty, and the owner was going to part it out.
So, fast forward a few years, the shell was obviously sold on, not completely parted out or scrapped, and the guy who built your car did extensive modifications to build your Street Beast! (yes, i am very aware of your car, the Voodoo Vega, an awesome Machine). Did you collect much info from the guy who built your car?
Does all of this add up for what you have been told about your car? Its possible some of the info is incorrect in our Registry, and if so, I would like to correct. it. (I do show you listed as the current owner of the car.) I show the car was Originally a Firethorn Exterior CV with a Whit vinyl Interior, and was in South Carolina for some of its life.
Let me know if any of this doesn't add up to what you have been told about the history of your car.

Chris, I believe that you may be keeping info on the status of the remaining Cosworths, right? If so, I
have purchased the motor/transmission from #3297. The seller told me that the car had basically rusted
away and that he was selling off the parts. When I go to pick it up, I will see if I can get the VIN and
other notables. If you have any info, can you let me know? RIP #3297. Michael. Yahoo post 12/27/2001

I don't have anything at all on #3297. While you are at it, all I have on your #1995 is that it was in SC
back in 78. Could you please e‐mail me with the VIN, interior, your name and the state you live in as
well? Thank you very much for your help. Chris Yahoo post 12/27/2001

Here are some jpegs of the car. In the first image of the car, you can see where the surface rust is on the
hatchback. I think there is one place where there is a hole. Otherwise, it appears to be just on the outer
surface (doesn't appear to be any rust coming from inside). Donald "Jeff" Duerr, P.O. Box 1668. According to CVOA Membership database his membership expired on May 01 2003. Setting this entry date to Jan 2003.

work done. It's been sitting for 30+ years so it needs some attention. Redid brakes in all four corners,
upgraded the fronts to the Monza vented rotors, along with new rubber lines. Added my NOS IECO
lowering springs front and rear, along with the big IECO sway bars. Lower ball joints, idler arm. Almost
done repairing the battery box, and slowly cleaning the interior. Wheels got powder coated, and added
new 195/70‐13's , Still got some work to do, but hope to be ready when the motor comes home to drop
it in and take it for the first run in 30 some years. Jeff

Purchased by Bruce Crower in 1977 from a dealer in Arkansas. At about 30k it developed a fuel system
problem, and, still in production trim, was set aside. Bruce plans to equip it with a twin‐turbo system
once it becomes emission exempt on its thirtieth birthday. It is an orange car with saddle interior and a
5‐speed.
