Don Hawbaker posted this on Yahoo in June of 2005: I was at the local cruise night tonight with #3004
as I just put the 3 piece Astre rear spoiler on it and wanted to show it off. A young man came up to me
and started asking what a NICE low mileage Cosworth should sell for. It is black with a white interior ,
has all the original paperwork , including window sticker and glove box items, about 23,000 miles, the
car is almost all original now, but has a new stripe kit and a NEW in the box Hutton Weber carb kit
including installation instructions and informational brochure. He is the second owner and said he
bought it from an 80 year old man who was the original owner. Said he had put about 2,000 miles on it
since he bought it and it starts right up every time. The muffler and tires are the only thing not original
on the car. It is number 0463. Said he was looking for $7500 for everything, Hutton kit and new stripe kit
included. I said that since he lived in the Green Bay area he should bring it to the round‐up, and he did
know it was going to be in Milwaukee. I can't afford it, but posted this in case anyone is interested.
Contact: Chad Maskrey at 920‐362‐7001. That's all I know. Contact him if interested. Didn't sound like
he would sell the Hutton kit or stripe kit separately. Don Hawbaker

Monday(April/5/2004) I checked engine/antifreeze/coolant/level again for second time ever... And it
was same as (April 1988appx. ‐43 degrees below zero)....I also checked floor/pans for
(first)(time)(ever)this Monday/ April/5/2004 (lh & rh) (front and rear) (after checking engine for rotation
on Monday/April/5/2004) and (as best as I could see and feel for underneath car...floor/pans were
okay...(car still has full‐original carpet over floor/pans inside of car)...has never been worked on or
started up by me...only parked by me because I had too many project cars when I purchased this car and
could never get around to working on it. I have driven and owned many GT "Vegas", since 1981, having
driven a Vega every day since 1981 and still drive a 1973 GT Vega, as my only licensed car.......but the
standard Vegas were powerful enough for me is probably one of the biggest reasons I never had time
for this Cosworth with working my regular jobs also......doing engine‐work and body‐work as a
hobby....my health is declining with my aging and I must sell this car as now I will never be able to do
this one! The man whom I purchased this car from, a reputable auto business owner, told me the
individual he purchased the car from had the car parked for approximately five years......his local garage
was unable to get this car started again...so it remained parked in his garage for approximately five
years, and since my purchase of this car in April of 1988 until this day of listing has been parked by
me...that’s all I know about this car.....it is a (all) original un‐tampered with and no‐ modifications
to......this I know from actual observation of the car. It has a factory‐original four‐speed manual
transmission with shifter.......the only missing parts I have been able to determine are the (spare‐tire),
(jack), and # (3) (spark‐plug‐wire/with boot).......all (4) tires are now flat...the car has a lot of surface‐rust
and some bad rust‐areas of which I have attempted to show in the photos with this listing...spare ‐tire‐
well is also rusted/away as can be seen in one of these accompanying photographs......the car is straight
and true and all original!....appearing to me...to never have been in a wreck....but a tree‐limb fell on and
across the right‐hand side of the hood onto the driver’s side/end of windshield knocking this
left/side/section of windshield out, as can be seen in some of the photos with resulting cowl/damage
and top of dash rusting.....most definitely will require a good amount of work to restore....interior is
complete and should clean‐up nicely in my opinion from it’s appearance...the only interior/damage I can
see is the damage on the driver’s side/seat/ back/rest/lower/left/side shown in one of the photos........I
repaired one this bad years ago when I was much younger and in better health....e‐mail me with any
questions........I would greatly appreciate it......if you would only bid on this car if interested in buying
it......I am requiring a (non‐refundable) (25%) of total sales price deposit within (3) three days of end of
auction by (pay/pal)(bank/certified/cashiers/check) or (money/order) and full‐payment by same method
type and pick/up of car from my local/monthly/rental/storage/facility within absolutely (10) ten days of
auction’s end unless other arrangements can be made with me! Buyer is responsible for pick/up and
removal of this car within ten days of auction’s end. (Sold for $350.) Ed.

Appeared on eBay in June of 2005: You are bidding on an extremely clean, low mileage Cosworth Vega.
I acquired this car from the 2nd owner. He owned the car since 1985 and only put on 3,000 miles. The
car has always been garaged and covered. It took first place in 1990 in Green Bay National Cosworth
association in the 25,000 miles and under class. This is a true survivor. The only things that have been
changed on the car are the tires, and the muffler. I still have the stock muffler (has a split in the seam of
it). This car comes with TONS of press release material, all records of service, original window sticker,
and brochures. It also has the factory GM tent option for the Cosworth Vega. This is an extremely rare
option. It is in like new shape. The body on the car is a 9 out of 10. It has a couple small dings but that is
it. I can have them fixed by a local dent man for a small fee. The paint on the car has the usual black
lacquer check. It is very presentable. I have a full set of NOS Cosworth Vega decals for the complete car.
The interior is perfect. It is white which I am told is a rare option. Car runs perfectly. Leaks nothing, has
never been torn apart. This is one of the cleanest Vegas you will find period!!! It has no traces of rust
anywhere. It was driven only on weekends and shows. If you are into Vegas don't let this one pass you
up. It has every piece of literature that you could image. This car has been babied its full life. Car was
classified a 2 on a scale of 1‐5, 1 being perfect. It is simply an awesome car. It needs nothing. I would not
paint car as it will decrease the value. It will make someone a nice addition to their car collection. Check
my other auction for a HUTTON Weber carb conversion for the Cosworth Vega. It is new with all the
manuals, gaskets, and related materials. Good luck and please call with any questions. Chad 920‐362‐
7001. VIN is not listed. Mileage is 27,500.
Bought by Steve in Indiana.

Hi ! My son & I are attempting to bring my 75 Cosworth back from the grave. It hasn't run in about 10
years. We hit a snag when we removed the fuel tank for cleaning. It's very rusty and must be replaced.
Also the sending unit and in‐tank fuel pump are ruined. I have a good tank and sending unit that was
removed from a regular Vega. It does not have the internal baffle and the return line is not included
with the sending unit. The tank has a port on the side which I assume is for the return. Has anybody
made this swap ? If so what are the cons ? Also is the in‐tank fuel pump on the regular Vega compatible
with the high pressure Cosworth pump? If not what is recommended for the in‐tank pump? Thanks for
your help. Jeff Corkren, Raymond, MS. #0477, VIN 1V77E5U246781.
I have a mint condition 76 owner's manual that I would like to trade for a 75 owner's manual. Or if
someone has a 75 manual for sale then please contact me. Thanks! Jeff Corkren #0477, Raymond, MS

According to an August 2005 Chat, this car is located in Coeur d Alene, ID. Supposedly the car is
completely stock, no rust, last ran about 2 years ago, and only has 32k miles. It has a black vinyl interior
and an 8‐track player. No rust, some chips and scratches, all glass intact. Two years ago it drove, after
sitting for 5 years, after a new battery and fuel. Car does not smoke, and no oil leaks. Some rear carpet
fading, no tears in seats. Dash is not cracked or faded. Owned by John Gilbertson, cdajmg@aol.com
