The VIN is 1V77E5U222752. Met Tony today (3/20/2010) as he was here to buy some parts. The car has some rust
issues, he says, in the spare tire well, and in the trailing arm mounting locations.

A young fellow by the name of Brandon Winter (fastman3232@hotmail.com) (440‐781‐5474) called this
Editor in May of 2009 looking for a timing belt for a friend’s Cosworth Vega. Turns out the car belongs
to Tony Dolamore of ??? OH (330‐667‐1325). It was given to him by his father. It has been sitting since
the early 1980’s, and Brandon has undertaken the task of bringing it back to life.

My car is pictured on the registry with the correct dash number which is #0765. Unfortunately it doesn't have my personal information nor does it tell that I am a CVOA member. I will be happy to provide any information you need to enter. Just let me know what you need. Mine is black w/ white interior.

Well, the dash plaque would have a "0" before the the 3 numbers if it was original so I will guess that
this guy bought a CVOA run blank and had it engraved. I would think that this might be 0766 or possibly
a little lower like 0765 but I don't think he transposed the numbers as much as maybe duplicated the
wrong number. I show 0768 to be 224329 so typically I would think the car might be 0765 except for
the fact that he had 776 engraved. I hope that helps, Chris
Craig Amelisko recently bought a Cosworth that had been sitting since 1984. He bought it from
Robert Dibrindisi
21 Mount Tom Avenue
Easthamptom, MA 01027‐2350.
The VIN of the car is 1V77E5U224230.
He thought the dash number of the car was 776, and sent me the attached photo to prove it when I
questioned the dash number.
As you can see, the dash plaque is not original.
I told him that I thought the correct dash number was 0767 (based upon my list of VINs and my
assumption that the former owner transposed the numbers many years ago).
Anyway, he says that Dibrindis was a Club member in 1990 according to a CVOA Magazine he got with
the car, and wants to know if we have any records that might shed additional light on the correct dash
number for this car.
Thanks. MARK (Entered 10‐27‐14)

This car appeared on eBay in October of 2007. “Hello, this is a very rare Cosworth Vega. It is number
0768 and as you can see the car needs a little resto work. Not much, it’s all there. The car has all factory
sheet metal on it and all the floors are in great shape. No holes, no patch work on the floors or the car at
all; it’s very very solid for the age. The car even has the factory cover that you get from the dealer. Just
look at pics. The motor does run, though it may need a rebuild, but you can decide for yourself. It has
been sitting for a long time. It needs a little work up in the spot where they all go bad where the battery
was. The car has all the factory wheels‐‐they need to be cleaned and repainted. If I can answer any
questions please ask, I’ll do the best I can to help answer them. Good luck and happy bidding.. I have
more pics of the rims the factory ones and more of the cover but this is all they let me post.. Know not
100% on the miles of the car so took pic of that so you see. I think it’s original but you be the judge of
that. I’m not 100%.” The VIN is 1V77E5U224329 and it looks like it has 100k miles. It has swingouts and
door edge molding. It is located in New York, NY.

Thu Nov 15 2007 05:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)

Offered on eBay in November of 2007. You are bidding on a very nice 1975 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega.
This little classic is a rare bird and is as original as the day it rolled off the assembly line, the only thing
that has been added is aftermarket oil pressure and water temperature gauges, the dash was not cut to
install these so, it has not been chopped up or cut up like a lot of them I have seen. If you like originality
and maybe you like to collect old cars then this one will fill the bill. It is black on black with gold accents,
it has the original 4 cylinder 16 valve dual overhead cam engine that get's great fuel mileage coupled to
a strong four speed manual transmission, (both operate superbly), it has factory headers, and badging
on the dash that reveals this is #0771 of just over 2,000 produced in 1975, and it is clean, clean,
clean. No disappointments here! The interior is super nice with no rips, tears, or cracks, the exterior is as
original, topside and underneath shows no evidence of rust (ever), wheels are factory and the tires are
in good shape. The buyer is responsible for transportation of this vehicle, I will assist anyway I can. I
expect a $500.00 deposit within 3 days after end of auction and the remainder within 10 days. These
funds can be paid by cash in hand, certified check, or wire transfer however, the car will not be released
until all funds are paid and they have cleared my bank. If you have questions please email through eBay
messages or call (850) 305‐6209 or (850) 683‐1142, ask for Travis. Thanks for looking and good luck
bidding! The VIN is 1V77E5U224499 and the mileage is listed as 49,000. The owner reports that he has
had this car for ten years, doesn’t know the history before that, and that it doesn’t have “any rust to
speak of”.

says, "I am going to do some freshening up on #771 which I have owned for about five years. 1. I would
like to put re‐indexed cam sprockets on when I do the timing and dist. belts." He also wants to install a

So it has now been an additional five (5) years (and only an additional $1,000.00) since my dad’s big
moment with his Cosworth in 2008. I have put less than 2,000 miles on the car since the 2008 show, and
I have decided that it needs to leave my heated garage and go to someone who will drive it regularly
and enjoy it. The car comes with a wealth of extras:
High dollar (indoor only) custom car cover.
“Lots” of spare parts (many NOS). Including:
Pedal pad set (new)
Lug Nuts (OEM)
Spark Plugs (12 – NOS)
Spark Plug Wired (set – used)
Hubcaps (3 – used)
Timing belt (new)
Clutch cable (NOS)
A three‐ring binder (155 pages) containing pictures of the car’s journey, all receipts since 2004, and
detail of all the money (over $23,000.00) spent on the car since I took possession in 2004.
Every issue of the CVOA member’s magazine going back to 2004.
A copy of all literature I could dig up on this very rare automobile. This includes the original Owner’s
Manual, Service Manuals, Body Manuals, Cosworth Supplements, Cosworth Tips and Tricks (three
volumes), Wiring Diagrams, and data from Hutton.
Memorabilia including key‐rings, license plates, winner plaques from Car Shows, etc.

There are no shortcuts or surprises in this car. Its restoration was a labor of love as a gift for my father
(now 87). My dad always told me that I could never settle for “good enough” if “just right” was within
reach. This Cosworth is Just Right. Call (330) 351‐1833 with questions. Thanks for looking.

Offered for sale in 2013: 0776. The VIN is 1V77E5U224732. If you wanted to buy a Vega in 1975, you
could get it in any color but Black. If you wanted a Black one, you had to buy a Cosworth – a $3,200.00
Vega with a $3,000.00 up‐charge for the engine option. That is why they advertised the Cosworth as
“One Vega for the Price of Two”. You are bidding on a pristine and “over‐restored” 1975 Cosworth with
78,625 actual miles. This example is Unit #0776 (see picture of the dash plaque) of 2,061 Black
Cosworths manufactured in 1975. Only a bit over 4,000 of the advertised miles has been added since its
total cosmetic restoration in 2005 – 2006. My father bought this car new in 1978 from a dealer in
Huntsville, Alabama. The vehicle had been sitting on his lot – unsold – for three years. Nobody wanted
to pay $6,200.00 for a “modified Vega” when $6,700.00 could get you into an entry‐level corvette. My
father piloted the car for almost twenty (20) years and 73,000.00 miles always driving it hard and
putting it away wet. During those years he made only two (2) major “non‐stock” modifications to the
car:

The Bendix EFI system was removed and replaced with dual side‐draft Webber carburetors. The work
was done by Cosworth masters Hutton Motor Engineering in Clarksville, Tennessee.
He added air conditioning (lived in Alabama). Again the work was done by Hutton.

He put it into dry storage (running) in 1997 and that was the end of the story. For a while…..

Mon Jun 16 2008 04:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)

In 2003 my father suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and has spent the last 10 years recovering and
enjoying life but he has been unable to drive. So….In 2004 he gave me the command to “come get the
car” and I did. I spent a few hundred bucks changing out fluids and getting it back to road‐worthy. I was
going to sell it “as‐is” at that point but it was just too fun to drive! It sings like a sewing machine at 3,000
– 6,500 RPMs and has a “square” suspension that allows it to handle better than any car I own (including
my 1969 e‐type). I decided at that time that my old man was going to enjoy one more hurrah with his
Cosworth. So I joined the Cosworth Vega Owner’s Association (CVOA) and set out to restore the car to
“better than new”. Between 2004 and 2006 I spent over $18,000.00 on the car (including removal of
the A/C) in preparation for participation in the 27th annual CVOA Roundup that was held in Canton,
Ohio in 2006. This total included $12,000 for new paint – three (3) coats base and three (3) coats clear.
My father and I went to the Roundup and finished third in the modified class (the Webers put it in the
modified class) with 344 points (out of 400) in the judging. I was disappointed and set about addressing
the items for which I received deductions and spent another $4,500 over the next two (2) years in
preparation for entry into the 29th annual CVOA Roundup that was to be held in Detroit, Michigan in
2008. My Dad and I attended the Roundup in Detroit and won Best‐of‐Show over the other 30
Cosworths entered.

I have some very precious pictures of him accepting the trophy.

So it has now been an additional five (5) years (and only an additional $1,000.00) since my dad’s big
moment with his Cosworth in 2008. I have put less than 2,000 miles on the car since the 2008 show, and
