Here's a link to a thread on the h‐body forum telling of a couple unregistered CV's, #0927 and #1245.
#1245 was parted several years ago, VIN unknown, and #0927 is the current project in a high school
automotive shop class. I have asked for other info on it. I believe the school is somewhere in NY.

Would there be any interest in the Club donating parts to the school project? VIN ‐ 231095

This car’s nameplate appeared on eBay in June of 2009 with the following explanation: Cosworth Vega
name plate. This is an original part for Cosworth Vega #0930! The car is long gone and this is the only
hard evidence this car ever existed. Great for a collector!

My Father(Fred Hacke), a long time CVOA member, passed away and I am looking for help in finding a good home for
his Vega rebuilding project. I’m not a car enthusiast by any means, so please bear with me...I'm not
really good with this car lingo. I live in St. Louis, MO and the car is currently in Bethalto, IL at my
mother's house. Here's a list of what I've been able to identify so far on the Vega and prices if I know
what was paid for them or about what they are worth. I really appreciate any help networking with
people that you think might be of help in selling it. Feel free to give my contact information out in
regards to this issue. I've been told that selling it as a package deal might be easier than piecing it out,
but there are some parts that are not original Vega parts. For some reason, he got a Vega body and all
the pieces (down to weather stripping and little Vega emblems) to go with it, but was going to put a
Buick engine in it (I thought because it had a little more pep to it, but I'm being told that there were
some problems with the original engines). '75 Cosworth Vega ‐ 2‐door hatchback, purchased
3/23/89. #0933, odometer 47,000, hauled from New Mexico‐great condition, just needs some
paint. [Dad paid $850 for it] * Radiator * Custom Built Radiator Heating Core‐High Efficiency [Dad paid
$189.71 to Ruckman's Welding and Radiator Repair to re‐core] * Push Rods * Piston Rings * Engine ‐‐
Buick, has to be a V6 or V8...not really sure * 2 sets of aluminum wheels/rims [Dad said $300 for 4 rims]
* Swing out rear windows * Unused weather stripping, weather stripping for both doors * Exhaust
manifolds * Polished aluminum manifold with 4 barrel carburetor (Carter AFB, 600 CFM electric choke)
* Intake with Carburetor * Pistons/Rods/Rod Bolts ‐ brand new * MSD (Dilbert) Electronic Ignition 6AL ‐
Good unit, never used [$220 for a new unit??] * Low mileage transmission (Saginaw) [$250??] * Borg‐
Warner super T10, 4 speed transmission rebuilt by Lenco‐never used. Has long, 4 speed shifter‐brand
new [$1000??] * There is also a new clutch set with the transmission. * There's also an old engine that I
think is the one from his first Vega that was totaled when it was hit sitting in front of their house. I
know he had everything he needed to put it together. There are radios and even a glove compartment
in the basement that I've seen. Dad kept everything and was quite a packrat. He kept all kinds of parts
as "extras" and there are a lot of items that I'm sure about. Please let me know if you would be
interested in any of these items or know someone that might be. Thank you in advance for your time.

The rumors of the death of this car have been vastly exaggerated. In fact it was purchased by Bruce
Cummings of Las Vegas and will be restored to drivable condition. In October of 2004 he listed this car
as one of his in an email to Mark Rock. When Mark indicated that he had the car listed as RIP Bruce
wrote back: “I bought the dash and exhaust off e bay some of the other parts was sold also. The car
was in Iowa. I called and made a deal for the leftovers. When I went to PA to pick up #1852, I brought
back #0941. The VIN for #0941 is 1V77E5U231825. It is black with cloth, swing outs, am/fm, and rear
defogger. I have just about all the parts needed to make it driver one more time. I don’t want to see cars
like this cut up for junk. Bruce

I just brought home Cosworth Vega #0941 from a junkyard where it has been for a year and a half. It
previously sat in a cow pasture for 15 years. This car is in bad shape. I only brought it home to clean it
out and check it out because I might be trading for a 76 with 7000 miles on it. This car is maybe a
number 5 on the 1 to 6 scale, lots of rust, head off engine but with car, someone added swing out rear
windows other rear windows with car, has 4‐spoke stamped steel wheels on car but also has 5 six spoke
wheels that need refinishing stored inside car. The steering wheel is so sticky that it has dripped on to
the seat. This car would cost too much to restore but is there anything of value here to resell?

As far as valuable parts, usually the aftermarket parts are the most valuable AC setups, Weber carb
setups, HD blocks, fast ratio steering, spoilers and air dams. If the car has been sitting for that long, my
guess would be that this is a stock car with not too much in the way of extras. Stock items would be the
EFI components. If you don't mind, would you please email me the VIN and interior color for that car so
that I can update my database. My email is CSWRTH1@aol.com. Thanks, Chris.
Dash and other parts for this car appeared on eBay in August of 2003. Seller represented he is parting
out the car.
