I have the opportunity (March 21, 2003 Yahoo post) to purchase another Cosworth‐#1068 (probably just
for parts). The owner was going to put a V8 in it. (I already bought the engine a few months ago) but he
is giving up on it. Just wondering if anyone has a feel for what a parts car is worth. Also, if anyone has
any parts they are looking for that #1068 may be able to provide. Wendell in Salt Lake City.

Hello everyone. I just bought #1068 (75) and can't get it to run. The engine compartment is in excellent
shape with every wire in its right place. I gave the car to my nephew as a gift because he said he has
always wanted to restore one. Little did I know he wanted to stuff a 350 into it. The Cosworth Vega is
#1068 (1975 of course). Jesse Wolfe jwolfe38@yahoo.com

Currently (December of 2007) owned by Tom Needham, who lives about 20 miles outside of Boise, ID.
The car is awaiting restoration. According to Chris Wheaton, “What I show for 1069 is that it was owned
by Larry Hansen in Utah and that it had Webers. I also show Imron, and I think that it had been painted
with Imron paint at one point.”

Posted on Yahoo in August of 2006: We recently purchased car # 1070. We are considering selling the
engine which has 46,000 miles, the exhaust system (GM muffler and dual pipes), wheels and air intake
box. We are selling parts for the highest offer, because we are thinking of putting a V8 in the car. May
consider selling the whole car if the price is right. Fjr1960 (kimhelmsy@earthlink.net)(386‐697‐9294)

This car appeared on eBay in late November of 2005 with the following description: “Here is a very rare
and unique car that has great investment potential. The Cosworth Vega was built in 1975 and 1976 only.
This is number 1070 as indicated by the factory designation on the machine turned dash. I bought this
car from the original owner about a year ago. This Vega is in great condition for its age. The interior is
beautiful and only shows fading of the carpet. There are no tears in the seats or door panels and the
dash pad is nice. Everything is original on this car and even some of the factory hoses and clamps are
present. This is indicative of the gentle life this car has had thus far. The car was repainted in the early
80's and still looks presentable. Vegas are known for their rust issues; however, this one does not have
the typical Vega rust. The right front underside of the hood has a small spot as well as the rear inner
corners of each door. There is NO rust around the front or rear windows, where most are rusty. The
cowl and dash areas are also great with no rust. This car has always cranked easily and runs and drives
well. This is your opportunity to get a unique performance car that will also get great fuel economy. Just
think a very quick car and efficiency in one package. This is a perfect special interest car for today's
economy and fuel prices. If there are any other photos you need or any questions you might have, feel
free to email me and I will respond as soon as possible. This car sold new in West Virginia and has been
here in NC since I bought it. I reserve the right to end this auction if the car sells locally.” Mileage is
listed as 46,350 and the VIN is 1V77E5U236620.

Appeared on eBay in December of 2009 and sold for $5500. According to listing:
You are looking at my 1975 Chevy Cosworth Vega. It is number 1071. The car has the original drivetrain
which is the Cosworth engine with 4spd trans. I have a small car collection of which I am thinking of
reducing and the Vega is the first car I am attempting to sell. “This car is in very good survivor condition
being mostly original with only minor bodywork having been done. The car has been cared for thru the
years by Cosworth enthusiasts. It is not perfect, but really doesn't need much to be a Saturday night
cruiser or only new paint to be a show piece. The car sits under mostly original paint, but has had some
spots repainted on the sides of the car, you really have to look to see them, but they are there. It has a
few surface rusty areas which I have tried to show in the pics, but there is NO rotted thru areas at all.
This car runs and drives excellent and right now only needs to have a small oil leak by oil pressure
sending unit repaired and a new set of plug wires. I have been told the timing belt should be done as
well. I have a new one that only needs to be installed. I also have a few spare parts which I have taken a
pic of. I also have the original invoice for the purchase of the car and some documentation going back to
1975. I also have a CT. title for this car but it will be sold by bill of sale/ signed last registered owner as
CT does not issue titles for cars 25 years old and older. The underneath of this car is in excellent
condition with no rust, interior is nearly perfect with only some sun fading to rugs, etc. Please contact
me with any questions and try to come and see the car in person to insure it is the car you want and
believe it to be, I will try to answer any questions as soon as possible and try to take more pics if you
desire of certain areas. So please ask as many questions as you can think of. This car is 35 years old and
that needs to be remembered, but that being said it is one of the nicest original ones you will find for
the money. The car is sold as‐is where‐is with no warranty. If you need to ship the car I will try my best
to assist you in that process as well, but you must set everything up yourself.” VIN is 1V77E5U236659,
and the car has 55k miles. Seller wrote that all gauges work, the title is signed by the last owner who
needed a title here in CT. so that when the next owner registered it CT DMV actually gave it back to him.
I also have a signed registration from last registered owner (guy who didn't need title) so the title won't
have my name or last registered owner's name on the front it has the transfer to him on the back. If you
want more info I can fax or email you copies of both sides of title and signed registration to verify with
your DMV before you do anything. Thanks for the interest, Rodney

Jay Hovick- Here is what I have pieced together so far with limited documentation. Jay Mathews bought it from Robert Duncan around 4-3-1985. The engine rebuild receipt in 1981 44,000 miles for Bob Duncan AND a receipt for a clutch adjustment on 7-14-1976 with only last name Duncan.
Jay brought the car out to Nebraska from California. In good Original Shape around 1986

The rumors of the impending death of this car were grossly exaggerated. In March of 2008 this car
appeared on an Oregon Craigslist. Ad read: OK. This is a project for someone who loves old factory
hotrods. This car does need lots of TLC but it’s complete down to the factory Mag Wheels. It is not
running at this time. The Production Date is 09/1975 and the actual assembly number is # 1077. The
Price reflects the work needed but we will entertain offers. Call Mark at Oregon Towing OR stop by and
check it out. 8658 SE Division, Portland, 97266. (503‐774‐1113).” The pics reflect a very rough car. Ed.

FYI I found a CV #1077 for sale in Oregon. It is way rough, borderline parts car. It is complete, old paint
job in poor condition. It is a total project car. Engine was rebuilt fifteen years ago but never ran due to
"transmission locked up." Let me know if you are interested. It has a Vega dash and painted on stripes.
Britt, January 2004.
