1975 Chevrolet Vega
Coupe Car for sale by Now And Then Fine Automobiles in Greenwood, Arkansas 72936
Available for sale is Cosworth Vega # 1715. An excellent example of these rare cars. A total of 3508 Cosworth Vega cars were made over the course of 2 years 1975, and 1976. All of the 1975 models were black in color and many had black interiors as well. This particular car has the "Tuxedo" interior option meaning it has black dash, carpets, and seat belts, but white seats, door panels and headliner. This was a rare option on a very rare car. This car has been repainted, but was painted in the original color. There are flaws and blemishes, and a small area where rust was repaired in the door jamb for the hatch. The car runs perfectly and still has the original fuel injection and the original Twin Cam Cosworth Engine. The interior is original and near perfect. The wheel appear to have been refinished, and are the correct gold color. This car has 4 brand new tires. The original radio still works and this one has the rear window defroster option (also reasonably uncommon) that also works. These cars were not available with air conditioning or automatic transmission so don't expect to find those. The carpet and seats are beautiful and the color combination really stands out. The price on this car is much lower than book. If you are looking for a perfect example of a Cosworth Vega, keep looking this car is not perfect but the price reflects that, a near perfect Cosworth Vega will set you back about $25,000. I have seen Cosworth Vegas in worse condition sell for more than I am asking. This is a very nice driver quality classic car with a low price. If you have questions please don't hesitate to ask, we are very honest and straight forward about the cars we sell. There is a scratch that has been touched up that is pictured and the top of the left front fender is "wavy" like it had some dents that should have been repaired prior to repaint. This is a nice car!

Offered for sale on eBay in January of 2010. Listing reads: 1975 Cosworth Vega. I have registration from 1981.1986 and 2007 to document the actual miles of 34017 original miles. I have the last inspection report from Connecticut, and the car passed state inspection with new tires and a catalytic converter. Car has clean white interior, no scratches, cuts or scuffs. Carpet is like new. Headliner is perfect. Car was repainted in 2004, has the original am/fm radio, factory rear defrost, and factory opening side windows. All the chrome is straight and clear. Door jambs are perfect. Car starts at 4 below zero (a little hummer). The car came from New York to MA to CT. Now resides in VT. Everything in the car works. The car runs great. Car does need an alignment. This is 34 years old--keep that in mind. The car is registered with the Cosworth car club of America. A car badge; coat patch and paperwork will go with the car. In 1975 there were 2500 built. 16% had the white interior. Rare! The car’s number is 1715. Good luck, happy bidding, you will not be disappointed. Call me, Ed, at 802-343-3811 if you have questions as I will not respond to emails or questions online (I do have a regular job).” Mileage is listed as 34,017 and the VIN is 1V77E5U264664. CV#1723 just turned up in Michigan. It is said to have been in dry storage for 20+ years. The owner wants to sell. It has less than 6500 miles on it. Anyone know if this car ever was registered in the Club? I've got no knowledge of this car up to this point. John J. Cowall

Posted on Yahoo in August of 2005: I am selling #1733, a 1975. It is in Orem, UT (south of Salt Lake City). I am in Texas where I have already started my new job. I have no way to move the car to Texas. In a week and a half, I will bring my family to Texas. I am asking $1000 for it. It was running last fall, but I haven't had the time to look at it this year with the new job and all. It has a Weber set-up, plus a five-speed. The body is rough, but no real rust. The interior isn't bad either. As near as I can figure, the car hasn't been on the street in 15 years. None of the gauges work. No radio. Anybody interested? If so, email me at budthe3rd@hotmail.com William Joblin

In June of 2005 this was posted on the Yahoo message board: “We own #1733, but unfortunately we have to sell it. My husband bought it a year or so ago to restore it with my son, but now we are moving to Texas. It has a Weber carb, and I guess low mileage. It does run, but I can't get to run. The body is pretty good. If you want to seeit or pictures of it, email me. I will consider all serious offers. So if there is anyone out west here (UTAH) dying to get a 1975 Cosworth Vega #1733, please get hold of me. Tks! Anita” artistathart@... I bought #1733 about six weeks ago [posted 12/03]. Hasn't been registered for the street since 1986. Drove it home. I am going to try to get it ready to paint, plus all the various belts, etc. changed, so it can go on the road next spring. I am shooting to have it ready by the time of the Cache Valley Cruise-In, at Logan, UT, July 1, 2, and 3 (?), 2004. There is another CW owner that works at the hospital I do in Sandy, UT. He drives his car daily. It floored me to see him drive into the parking lot the day after I bought mine. Looking forward to learning much more about these cars. W.joblin@comcast.net
