New business item CV' getting V8
While I understand the concern, there is really nothing that can be done as a club to make this not happen. If there is a silver lining to the issue it may be the fact that at least it improves the pool of spare parts to keep other cars alive or possibly bring some back to life.

Without getting into the realm of a certain Cosworth Vega owner (0078), I'd say just the VIN and the original Cosworth of England head (certainly the cam carrier cover that says "Cosworth Vega") makes the Cosworth Vega identifiable as a Cosworth Vega. As for trying to prevent owners from using their Vega (Cosworth or not) shells to put V-8's into, you might as well stop the tides. Yes, promote the Cosworth Vega for what it originally is, as any other Vega with a V-8 in it is a V-8 Vega. I encountered several people at car shows saying that the build of the Cosworth Vega is perfect to put V-8's into them. Somehow they don't realize that 76-77 Vegas pretty much has the same suspension as the Cosworths. My final word about V-8 Cosworths is from our founder, Bob Maloy, "As more and more poor examples of Cosworth Vegas either are taken off the road by neglect, or poor maintenance, it will make those samples that are kept in good shape more and more valuable." The same is true for those Cosworths which have met the fate of being converted to V-8's.
