1976 CV #2196 For Sale (Autox Prepped) $7,750
I bought #2196 with the intent of enjoying it a couple years, and it's now time to (reluctantly) move it on as I'm retiring at the end of the year and we're downsizing out of State to be closer to grandkids.

Sold new in Terre Haute, IN, this car passed to its second owner in that area before being purchased by the third owner in 1987, who eventually relocated to Rockford, IL. The car underwent a bare shell restoration in 1999, including a full engine rebuild, and accumulated about 6,000 miles under his ownership. I am the fourth owner as of 2018 and mostly returned the car to its ex-factory appearance with exception of engine and suspension mods. I've put about 2,800 miles on it (indicated - the speedo/odo is about 15% fast due to the 4.10 rear axle). Paint presents well from ten feet, but blemishes are evident here and there.

Engine, Drivetrain & Suspension:
· Rods polished and ARP bolts
· .030 over 9.5 to 1 forged pistons
· Sleeved block
· cylinder head refurbished
· Assembly balanced
· Total Seal rings
· Converted to 42 DCOE Webers
· 2 1/4” exhaust with 2 chamber Flowmaster
· 4 speed (original from factory)
· 4:10 posi rear (upgraded from factory 3.73 gearing)
· IECO lowering springs
· Bielstien shocks
· Flaming river quick ratio steering box
· Hurst shifter
· Repro GM chin and tailgate spoilers

Two sets of wheels/tires come with the car: (5) gold CV wheels with 1 year old BF Goodrich tires (original Goodyear factory spare) and (4) black-painted CV wheels with an older set of Hankook track tires. I will also include if desired a set of (4) four Firestone white-letter tires that were on the gold wheels when I bought the car (very low wear, but replaced due to age).

Also included are the original springs, steering box, FI system, racing harness mounting bar, and period ads, magazine articles, shop manuals, etc. (the 71VEGA plate is from my first car and is not included, nor is the DeLorean book. There's more than what's shown in the pic, tho).

The only repair I've had to make during my ownership was to replace the starter solenoid and rotate the driveshaft u-joints 180° to remove a driveline imbalance. The (original) radio does not work, and I disconnected the clock to prevent it draining the battery. Always parked/stored inside. Starts easy cold or hot and revs smoothly. I had my local shop fabricate a dual-tip exhaust (like the '75 CV would have), and the car has a delicious, crisp and raspy exhaust note.

I've priced it well below what I have in it (including what I spent on tires, etc.) in hopes of moving it along before Winter. Can deliver within an hour or two of Peoria, IL for an extra fee.

This is a CV you can enjoy driving, whether to Cars & Coffee (be prepared for a constant crowd) or at your local autocross. It's very comfortable running at interstate speeds, although it will be screaming!
