VIN verification
I recently purchased #594 with vin #1v77e5u216669 and when trying to decode the vin or body panel numbers I can’t verify that it’s actually a 1975 Cosworth Vega. I’ve tried using the vin decoder on CVOA but am having no luck. When using other online vin decoders I get the error indicating I need to enter 17 characters not 13. Can anyone point me in the right direction for verification of the vin. Thank you in advance. Tom

Yes that is a Factory Cosworth Twin Cam Vega . The Car and its owner from about 8 years ago is listed in the CVOA registry. 1975 vehicles only used 13 digits. Increased to 17 digits in the 1990's/2000's. This car was restored by the owner listed and he also fabricated and installed the turbocharger system on the car. He recovered the cloth front seats with reproduction Camaro vinyl covers therefore, they don't match the rear seat cloth fabric.
