Replacement Speedometer Cable + Gear?

The speedometer on #2196 occasionally is jumpy, and driving home from work on Friday, it began to squeal a bit, thankfully just a mile or two from home. It was a hot day, and I was running 55-60mph for about 45-50 minutes. I drove the car to a local car show this afternoon (hot again), and the noise did not return.

My guess is that the cable needs lubed, but in poking around, I saw that CVOA used to (still does?) offer a repro unit. Are those still available? If' I'm going to get into it, I might as well replace with new, and then refurb the old one if it's not too far gone as a backup.

I'd like to also see if there's an adaptor or something I can use to have the speedo read closer to my actual speed. Since the car has the 4-speed with a 4.10 rear end, it reads quite a bit high, which of course will mean my indicated miles will accumulate a lot faster, too. I understand the proper gear is NLA (or maybe it is? links?).

Really enjoying the car so far - an instant crowd is always guaranteed!

I do not have a source, but today I saw a post that says Roy Linenberger rebuilds these transmissions. He may have a source. A good transmission shop should have one, or know who can get it. Tell them it is for a T-50 transmission used in the late 70s H-body cars.
