John, assume this is in your 75 CV. Is the original 4 speed shifter hole modified? Have you installed without the shift boot in order to check for clearance? It sounds like the reverse lock out may be hitting the bottom of the tunnel not allowing the little lever to rotate. A NY chance you installed a new trans mount with the new trans? New mount could be a little taller than an old worn mount.
