converting from fuel injection to webers

hi, am doing the conversion to hutton intake & webers. reading the article in our Teck section about the safety relay and my question is- is the fuel pump in the tank not good enough? is it recommended to run a aftermarket pump and if so where would be best place to mount it? i was going to check my in tank pressure. thankyou

I think the in-tank pump is fine with with Webers. In my case the in-tank pump being inop was one of the fuel system problems I was having in the 80's when I swtiched from EFI to Hutton Webers. In my case I opted to put a Facet type low pressure pump in the location of the EFI high pressure pump and power it with the high pressure pump wiring since the in-tank pump is harder to get to. The down side is to not let the tank level get below a quarter tank since an external pump alone can have trouble pulling fuel up and then down to the high pressure pump level if tank gets low without the in-tank pump. My 40 year old Facet pump is still in place and working great with my Webers.
