Thanks David. Several very knowledgeable mechanics I know have given me very similar information. They are not comfortable with full synthetics on pre-1980 engines. That's how I ended up using Valvoline VR1 20/50 in several of my cars. It's a high zinc oil, the only potential concern I have it is low (or maybe even no) detergent which I understand can lead to carbon buildup over time. I'm not going to start with a full synthetic on this car. I appreciate your input.
