Tony Rish recently (December 2003) sold a 76 block. It came out of a car with the VIN 1HV77O6U178376. The body ID tag of this car was 1HV77U160445. The dash plaque for this car was #2568. According to Tony, this car was “Swiss cheese” and was “cut up into little pieces” and became the donor for a standard Vega shell converted into a Cosworth replica. The Tonawanda number for the head off of this car was #2521, and the head had a production date of 5-15-75. This black car had a black and white cloth interior.

need to find this Chevy-Cosworth Vega #2572 a new home. I have had the car for 40 years. However 20 years ago the electronics began to fail and back then spares were rather hard to find. My solution was to transplant a 4.3L Chevy V six. It took me several attempts to get it just right but it turned out to be a real nice driving car. I want $17,000 for the car however I will consider any reasonable offer. Moving overseas. The last project was to install a 2.54 ratio gear set with a new posi carrier to make it hi-way friendly. Nearly complete 76 CV drive train. Previous owner stated 40 years ago that he had the block sleeved. The engine turns over easily by hand. $1000 but you will need to come and get it all. OR you can buy the car that the drive train came out of and you can have the drive train with the car. $17000. Chevy 4.3 V6, 4 speed trans with Hurst shifter. A lot more fun to drive. PM for details. According to a February of 2014 email from Chris Wheaton, this car belongs to Jeff Kienzle in Northren California. The VIN is 1V77O6U178732.

Current owner is Robert Felker in Missouri.

According to a Facebook post in July of 2013, this car is now owned by John Danek of Detroit, MI. Photos of the car reveal that the side stripes are not stock--there are three, and together they are as wide as the lettering is high, tapering to a point in the front and back.
