Ken Hart. Sold to Robert Ralphs in Oak Harbor, Wa....#2638 has found a new home. , I took a chance when I purchased it from the estate of the original owner that it turned out to be a mistake (for what I paid for it). Took a big hit, but I hope the new owner will enjoy. (he talked about V8, cutting the roof off and do some other ungodly things to it but that is for the new owner to figure out.. (just kidding) I think it is in good hands. Hope to one day find a replacement vega that is in better condition and one I can enjoy right away. I will probably linger on here for awhile, or at least on the regular vega site (I still want a nice 71-73 like I had just out of highschool. or a nice proven cosworth driver.

Ken Hart Facebook. November 10 at 5:47 PM. With the help of this group Cosworth #2638 started for the first time in 16 yrs.
I bought this back in Jan from the estate of the original owner where it sat since at least 1982, on jack stands partial apart. 3 weeks ago I pulled into the garage to finally start to work on getting running. after chasing wiring and fuel issues I got it fired up today and then drove it up and down the drive a few times to see if it would move. Next is to take it around the neighborhood (2 mile loop). It fought me and did not want to come back to life but I beat it into submission. This was just a few minutes ago, after backing it out under its own power from the garage.

#2641 has a Skytrends Sunroof, black with black cloth interior, and a five‐speed. It currently does not run. It is in a junkyard in Michigan and is for sale, together with #3476 and #1687, for $4,000. From the story related to me by a CVOA member who found them, they are currently in a junkyard, but all are complete cars. The owner thinks he has a gold mine, and does not care how long he sits on them. Yahoo post 9/21/2001

According to an e-mail from Dennis Jenkins in January of 2004, he once owned this car in San Diego, but it burned
to the ground. He rescued the engine and used it for parts for several cars in San Diego. It was a black 5-speed with
a black vinyl interior sporting the “Rockwell Minilite look-alikes”. He “painted the bumpers on [this car] and it
looked pretty nice without the big “chrome” things on each end.” In a subsequent e-mail, he reported that:
“Regarding the cam cover ... Crower helped me build #2644 for SCCA racing (cams, valves, porting, etc.) and he
had some spare cam covers laying around that were warped more than he felt like using on his engines (by that time
he was using the H-8s in sand rails). I took one and machined it down so it was flat and used it on #2644 for a
while. When he finally abandoned his motors I inherited a lot of parts from him, which I gave to another owner in
San Diego at some point long, long ago.” Ed.

After driving the Car for a few days and reading up on its quirks and rarity, I find myself missing the
Torque and the bottom end acceleration that the Buicks I normally drive are known for. I have decided
to let my recently purchased Cosworth go for exactly what I paid for it, which was a bargain from what
I'm told. The car is on eBay under item number 1825115847. The car is a very solid car and 3100 dollars
will take it. It's a 5‐speed with 4.11 posi. Black with hound’s tooth interior that is in EXCELLENT SHAPE.
NO RUST. Car drives like a slot car. Options include the stuff mentioned above as well as remote drivers
mirror and door edge guards and swing out windows. All the glass in the car is new. Comes with an
extra complete motor and trans although the bottom end of the motor is shot due to a rod failure. Extra
tires, header, etc. I'm told by the previous owner that the car has larger front and rear sway bars and
has been lowered. Anyway, thanks for the learning experience on a car I knew NOTHING about until a
week ago. Rob Franklin, Salem, Oregon. Cosworth 2647. Yahoo post 4/27/2002

Hello: My name is Rob Franklin and I just purchased Cosworth Vega #2647. The car is black with hound’s tooth interior and has 5‐speed with 4.10 posi rear. The car is in excellent shape with 80k on the clock and 10k on the rebuilt motor. I look forward to learning about these cars and enjoying the fact that only so many exist and I won’t be passing one on the road every day. Rob Franklin, Salem, Oregon. Yahoo post 4/27/2002

Appeared on eBay in April of 2008 with the following listing: RARE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTED MATCHING
NUMBERS COSWORTH VEGA. There are many restored cars out there, but it's only original ONCE!
Number 2653. Yes, only 52 documented miles. Out of a private collection, it's time to make room for
some new arrivals. This car has NEVER:
Been painted or touched up
Smoked in
Motor removed
Transmission removed
Abused
This car has ALWAYS:
Been stored in a climate controlled facility
Been professionally maintained
This is not one of the $200,000 cars yet, just as collectable at a much more affordable price.
This car is quite simply a time capsule back to the mid 1970's should you remember it.
The car still rides on its 4 original bias ply tires, however one went flat and the spare used.
This car gives everyone the opportunity to share in the collector car hobby.
The Vega has been meticulously maintained and detailed.
Please e‐mail through Ebay any questions you may have and I will respond to any relevant questions
about the sale of this car only. Yes, I know the car is listed in the Camaro section, because there is no
Vega section.
This car has been carefully described to the best of my ability and is exactly how it was in 1976.
This car is listed as being in “Sunny Florida”. In answer to a question, the seller stated, “The car has a 4
speed transmission. As far as documentation I have a copy of the window sticker and a copy of the build
sheet. Some of the other features on the car are as follows: A01 Soft‐ray tinted glass A20 Swing out rear
side mirrors B37 color keyed floor mats B93 Door edge guards C49 Electro Clear Rear Defogger G80
Positraction Rear Axle (3.73 gear) LY3 122 EFI Twin Cam I4 Thanks again for your interest. It's quite
amazing how many people are tracking this little old Vega. I believe it is also a radio delete car. Thanks
again, Steve”
