The following message was posted on the Yahoo! Groups board (message # 20742) in late July of 2009:
Hi All. I have a 76 Cosworth number 3263 that is for sale. It does not run at the present time; has a 5‐
speed, swing out windows and spare parts. If interested, let me know. I am in Southern Cal. The car is
in fairly good shape except the Battery box area is pretty well toast. The reason it is not running is the
distributor drive belt broke so I bought the Dist drive belt, timing belt, and a rebuilt water pump, tore it
apart and never put it back together. It has been repainted and could use another. I bought the car in
Santa Marie and believe that it was first sold in Santa Barbara. The color is green with buckskin vinyl
interior. There are 215‐50‐13 tires on it. They have never been on the road. Let me know if you would
like more info. I would like $1,000 for it and the spares. Thanks. Ed

Offered for sale on eBay out of Tyrone, GA in March of 2008. The ad reads: “Up for auction is a hard to
find rust free Cosworth, it has some surface rust here and there but that’s about it, this car was parked
because it quit running about 10 years ago. I put a battery in it and it turns over freely but I didn't put
any gas in it to see if it would start. But all the lights and radio seem to work great. The body looks to be
original paint and the panels are arrow straight. It has tilt wheel, power disc brakes, and it looks like a
factory add‐on a/c but I’m not sure. The car is a great start for an awesome hot rod or restored back to
original. Please email if you have any questions or call 770‐616‐5066. Thanks for looking.” The car has
87,289 miles. It also has red carpet, red dash and white interior, with speaker holes cut in the big rear
plastic panels. The white interior is turning to powder. The door panels look fine. The front seats have
cloth seat covers on them.

According to Chris Wheaton in February of 2014, "Cosworth 3267‐‐VIN 1V77O6U221869. Black with
black cloth interior, swingouts, Skytrends sunroof, 5 SPD. This car had the later design windshield
washer bottle and the later design master cylinder. Build date 04/76. This car was owned by Penman
Dexter D of Garden Grove, CA in the late 80’s and was last registered in 86. He apparently passed away
and the car was sitting for years at a company called R.E. Albright in Anaheim, CA. They asked Chris
Wheaton to pick it up in May of ’07. The car was in pretty bad shape and is in the process of being
parted out as of 2‐14. It should be RIP in the next couple of months."

Hello all. I have decided to sell #3271. It is a restoration project that I've had almost 2 years & not been
able to do anything with. I bought it with the engine & 5‐speed out. The engine is completely apart,
was told head gasket was the reason by previous owner, though it was apart when he bought it, too.
Car looks to be complete to me, except for pulse air. Has swingout windows & Skytrends sunroof, & 5‐
speed, rear defogger. Not posi. Hood & hatch need replacing/rusted. Rest of body is pretty good,
battery tray area rusted (hasn't gone into frame) & a couple other small spots, seats, carpet, dash etc.
would need to be re‐done. I think it's a great project car for somebody with time & money. I'll just have
to get a driver. I'm asking $500 & car is in Santa Barbara, Ca. My e‐mail is in my profile. Thanks. Terry

Appeared on eBay in June of 2010 with the following info: 1976 Chevrolet Vega Cosworth. 37k original
miles. Number 3273 of 3600 ever made. Dash plaque with build number. Absolutely no rust on the
body, good paint, good interior, and detailed engine compartment. High Output DOHC EFI 4cylinder
Cosworth Engine. 4 speed manual transmission. Stored in climate controlled building. Rare Antique
White body color with Buckskin (tan) interior. Car runs and drives great. Has some minor rock chips on
front of car and on the lower wheel wells from driving. Interior has some fading on dash, trunk
carpeting, and some of the plastic around the windows. If you have any questions or would like more
info, call Jason at 612‐518‐3783. It has been repainted, but the paint is older. I would estimate 15 years.
The paint was starting to show its age a bit and was professionally buffed three years ago and turned
out pretty good. The engine compartment and the underside of the hood has been repainted, though,
about two years ago, to help accent the detailed engine. The car has never seen snow or salt. It was
originally a Texas car, but was brought up to Minnesota about 20 years ago, sat in the back of a body
shop for several years, was bought by a guy in Farmington MN who put the car back together, then my
grandmother bought it four years ago. (She wanted an affordable car that she could take to local car
shows.) She moved down south a year ago and the car has been sitting in storage ever since.

In January of 2007 it is listed at that site for $5500. Purportedly it is a Texas car, with the original bill of
sale in the glovebox. It is a white Cosworth with a saddle interior. No swingouts. The engine and Pulse
Air tubes look very clean. The battery is sitting in its place cocked, for some reason. It has yellow plug
wires and the oil filler plug has been replaced. There is no engine build sticker. The coolant hose from
the pipe to the heater core has been replaced. There does not appear to be a hood pad, and it has the
brass proportioning valve. It is hard to tell from the photo, but the seats almost look white instead of
saddle. The armrest on the passenger side is strangely colored. The passenger door panel looks much
darker than the seats, though this too may be an artifact of the photo. There are no floormats. The gas
cap is black instead of body color.

According to a December 2006 email, this car is located in Watertown, MN and is for sale for $6500. “Hi
Mark. Thank you for the reply. The one in the mid‐west is actually listed on the
www.hookedonclassics.com web site. It's a 1976. The dash number is 3273. She is white and just had a
major engine re‐fit. The interior is in good shape and she is a four speed which is making me feel a bit
better about it.”

Offered for sale on eBay in December of 2002 for $5000: 1976 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega #3275. VIN:
1V7706U222166, with 158,000 miles. White Exterior with Correct Buckskin Cloth Interior, 5 Speed, 4.10
Rear End, Rear Window Defroster, AM/FM Cassette Radio, Vintage Air A/C Heater with Defroster, Side
Draft Weber DCOE 45’s, recently rebuilt engine (June 2001), High Flow Exhaust with New Converter and
Dynomax Muffler and Astre 3 Piece Rear Spoiler. The car originally had swing out windows, which will be
included. Also a Cosworth Vega Owners Association COMPLETE Stripe Kit is included. The front end was
rebuilt in 1995 with new bushings and ball joints when I started this project. In addition the brake lines
were replaced with steel (not stainless) reproduction s and so were the fuel lines. I also replaced the
carpet in June of 2001 and added the cloth seats and factory rear window defroster at the same time. I
recently had the car repainted in September of 2002. I rebuilt the engine in June of 2001 with 10.0:1 JE
Pistons, Stainless Steel Valves, Bronze Guides, Bushed Stock Cosworth Connecting Rods with APR Rod
Bolts, Total Seal Gapless Rings, ARP Head Studs, ARP Main Studs, Reground Stock Camshafts and
Milodon 6 Quart Winged Oil Pan. The engine puts out about 150 gross HP ‐ it produced 122 Rear Wheel
HP on a Dyno last February. The wheels were refinished with an OLD Tower Paint Kit and the Tires are
Sumitomo HTR 4’s in size 205 60 13. The Battery Tray area has been repaired and there is a good tray in
place. In addition there was surface rust and rust holes in the driver’s floorboard, which were repaired
before the car was repainted. The driver’s seat has a tear in the inside side panel. This car would make a
good daily driver.
