My 3452 ( I hope my memory is not fooling me, I going to go thru my old records to see if I can find
anything on the car ) was a daily driver when I lived in Calif. and was in excellent condition when I sold it
in 1984. Only problem I ever had with it was a sudden shutdown while driving, before it turned 12,000
miles. I eventually found a cold solder joint on the computer at the output harness that fixed that issue.
My son & I own a SCCA road race car (Spec Ford). He's a two time NE Division champion and I'm a
former California Pro Rally Series champion so I have no urge to race this car.

I know of an original owner (sold the car long ago) who bought a CV without U‐76 (radio Ed.). The
dealer drilled the fender for a mast antenna. The owner had them fill it back in and install a windshield
with the built in antenna. This particular car was wrecked in the mid‐eighties, after my friend sold it,
and repaired, albeit, poorly. I recall looking at it and driving it when it was for sale after being repaired.
The chassis was obviously bent and it drove very poorly. I doubt if this car is still around, which is too
bad. It had the best OEM paint job I had ever seen on a CV. I have the ECU from this car. It would
occasionally go dead, and after replacing virtually every EFI part they finally figured out that there was a
bad terminal crimp on the EFI power harness. I managed to recover the ECU from the dealer warranty
scrap pile. Duke. See Yahoo Message 9830. 11/15/2002

Was going to V8 it but hate to do it to a Cosworth. Will trade for a V8 car / project OR something interesting!

“anyone know the whereabouts of #3460? I used to own the car and sold it to a guy in Florida. I have tried to
keep track of it in case I could by it back. I currently own #3233. The last I knew of it was he was trying to sell
the car through a dealer that was eventually shut down because the owner was arrested on Federal charges.
My guess is that it might have been confiscated as evidence as part of the investigation. Either still being held
or sold at a government auction”

Unknown Date.. based on next entry guessing 30 days prior.
This car appeared on eBay out of Stuart, FL at a used car dealer, Blue Marlin Motors, USA. The VIN is
1V77O6U234911 and it has 62,700 miles. The ad reads: "Cosworth Vega #3460! You are looking at a
VERY rare, late production run, 2 owner Cosworth Vega #3460! It left the factory with some very
desirable features including Firethorn Hounds‐tooth cloth interior, and (RPO M75) Borg‐Warner five‐
speed manual overdrive transmission with 4.10 posi‐traction rear axle. The car was kept in air
conditioned storage for 25 years by the first owner. The second owner was just as fanatical as the first.
Upon purchase, he sent the Vega to Terry Winters in Ft. Meyers Fl, and had the car "gone through" front
to back. The fuel tank was dropped and flushed. New brake lines and fuel lines were installed, the
brakes including calipers were rebuilt, and the original radiator was re‐cored. The original engine
received Indy Racing Cams, and a 2 1/4" exhaust system was installed. Current estimated horsepower is
160‐170. Those are the only mechanical modifications done to the car. The original AM radio does not
work. The seats and rear area carpet are original. The air dam is a dealer added option that looks quite
nice on this car. Now for the fun part! Included in this deal are some nice extras:
Cosworth crate engine with ZERO miles! Rebuilt at Canadian factory with steel sleeves and dual Weber
setup.
Extra set of wheels
NOS front bumper still in the wrapping
RARE Cosworth tool kit sent to dealers to work on these engines.
Assortment of literature and manuals.
If I were purchasing this package, I would find a solid Vega Wagon and create a one‐off Cosworth Vega
Wagon using the included spare motor! Late production run Cosworth Vegas with these options and in
this condition are almost non‐existent! The limited edition 1975 to 1976 Cosworth Vega was a special
performance version of the subcompact introduced long before cars like the Golf GTI or Mitsubishi
Lancer Evolution. Only 2,062 were built the first year. It was fitted with a fuel‐injected DOHC 2.0L 16‐
valve version of the engine designed by Cosworth Engineering in England, which was famous for its
racing engines. Built by Chevrolet at its Tonawanda engine plant, the engine was fed by Bendix
electronic fuel injection controlled by a computer in the glove box. Engine production rate was 30 per
day with hand assembly teams of two or three workers per engine in the Tonawanda, New York engine
plant's "clean room", a special facility originally devised for the ZL‐1 all‐aluminum 427 cu in V8." From
the photos, the Pulse Air tubes are missing. The tailpipe is twinned, which is wrong for a 76. It has fixed
quarter windows. The tail panel stripes are wrong. The red carpeting is full of holes in the hatch area.
The cam cover has crinkle paint on it, that is flaking badly. It has blue plug wires; but the dash bezel is
pristine. AM radio. It was built in 06/76 according to the door sticker. Aftermarket floor mats. The
carpeting has completely torn away from the top of the back seat. The car appears to have been
repainted.

Offered for sale by John Dubovsky in September of 2010. RARE MAHOGANY/BUCKSKIN 1976
COSWORTH VEGA. This is a mahogany/buckskin combination 1976 Cosworth Vega with less than 1,600
miles! The dash no. is 3466. This Cosworth Vega has been owned by the current and previous CVOA
Presidents, so its pedigree is well‐documented. It is affectionately known as "Queenie" by members of
the CVOA because it is a trailer queen, being towed rather than driven everywhere it goes, and this is
why it has such low mileage. A numbers matching, fuel injected, dual overhead cam, 4 cylinder
aluminum engine powers this car, and a 5 speed manual transmission and a 4.10 rear end complete the
drive train. The paint is all original and in excellent condition. There are no door dings, and only one
small hood ding that is about l/8" round. The only other noteworthy thing is a crack in the right corner
of the front valance, which is about 1" long. The buckskin interior is in great condition, which is
remarkable for this color, because most of these light color interiors deteriorated over time. There is a
slight amount of sun bleaching of the plastic panels and carpet in the hatch area, because the car sat on
the dealer's lot for awhile before it was moved indoors. The car was Ziebarted by the original dealer,
and much of this has been removed from the side panels of the motor compartment. The rest of the car
still retains its undercoating. Other than the Goodyear Integrity tires, reconditioned wheels, high
pressure fuel hoses and some clamps, and an NOS high pressure fuel pump, this car is like it was when it
left the factory. Included with the car is the original owner's manual, consumer information booklet,
original Goodyear warranty pamphlet, maintenance schedule, build sheet and a copy of the original
MSO sheet. It also has the slip‐on sun visor sleeves describing the unique starting procedure for the
Cosworth, and the guide to the ignition lock system. Though a bit tattered, the car still retains its
original window stickers. Also included will be a set of four of the original Goodyear BR‐70 13 tires that
came on the car from the factory. FYI: The NADA guide for a High Retail Value of a 1976 Cosworth Vega
is $12,425.00. The description for a High Retail Value car is: "In excellent condition overall. It could be a
completely restored or an extremely well‐maintained original vehicle showing very minimal wear. The
exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are not in need of reconditioning. The interior would be in excellent
condition." INSPECTION: If you wish to inspect the vehicle, you may do so prior to the end of the listing.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an all original, but none‐the‐less, a used vehicle, and there may or may not be
scratches, scuffs, scrapes, chips and other possible paint defects or imperfections, as a result of use and
age. Vehicle is being sold "As Is/Where Is," therefore; there are no expressed or implied warranties on
this vehicle. Potential buyers with a rating of 10 feedbacks or less need to contact me prior to bidding,
or their bid will be deleted. WINNING BID: I require a $1,000.00 deposit within 24 hours of the auction
end via PAYPAL. The remaining balance will be due in full within 7 days of auction closing. PAYMENT
TERMS: I accept for payment cash, bank wires, or cashier checks. No personal checks or money orders
will be accepted. TAXES: Buyer is responsible for all applicable taxes, title costs, etc., as set forth by
their state of residence. SHIPPING: The buyer agrees to pay all shipping charges. The seller will assist
you in your attempt to make shipping arrangements. I assume no responsibility for this vehicle once it
leaves my possession; therefore, I would recommend that you secure insurance coverage prior to
vehicle pick up. Thanks and happy e‐Bay bidding!!!!!!
The VIN is 1V7706U235411 and the mileage is 1593.

Mon Dec 15 2003 05:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)
Offered again in December of 2003 as follows: 1976 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega – Dash # 3466 with 1500
original miles, Mahogany Metallic Paint, Buckskin Interior and 5 Speed Transmission. The car is 95%
original with the following non stock items – High Pressure Fuel Lines and Clamps, muffler and tail pipe
(original included with car). It has won it’s class in almost every car show in which it was entered starting
in 1995 (when I first saw the car) with the Cosworth Vega Owners Association National Round Up in
Detroit and most recently the 2003 National Round Up in Austin Texas (It also won its class at the 1987
National Round Up in Gettysburg, PA this was before my time). It is an excellent example of the RARE
“Color” Cosworths with almost all of the Factory Documentation (including Build Sheet and a Copy of
the MSO) and Shop Manuals. I am the third tilted owner of this car; the first owner purchased it from
Sunderland Chevrolet of Lemoyne PA at an Antique Auto Auction on June 18, 1984 with 109 miles on the
odometer. This car spent time on the lot at Sunderland Chevrolet as indicated by the sun fading of the
interior panels and carpet in the hatch area. In addition there are some very minor dings and chips in the
paint as a result of the car being outside and also being transported across the country in an open
trailer. The second owner (A CVOA member I have known since 1987) purchased the car on June 24,
1984 with 1,344 miles on the odometer; however the 2nd owner never transferred the title into his
name. As a result I am shown as the 2nd owner. PLEASE NOTE: the Powder Coated Wheels and OEM
Goodyear Tires shown in the pictures DO NOT COME WITH THE CAR (see “Buy It Now” note). Use the
“Buy It Now” Feature and I will include a rare Hatch Hutch Hatch Tent, A New Reproduction CVOA
Molded Hood Pad, the Powder Coated Wheels with OEM Goodyear Tires. In Addition if you use the
“Buy It Now” Feature I will deliver the car within a 750‐mile radius of Houston Texas for FREE. If total
distance is over 750 miles an additional $0.50 per mile will be charged for the miles in excess of 750
miles.
