According to a February 2012 membership application, this car belongs to Tim Worst of Yorktown, VA.
The VIN is 1V77O6U251458. He says it was in a barn for 14 years. He says it is Orange. He also says that
"one of the very few things discovered modified so far on this car was the sending unit. Someone took
an early model GM non‐electric fuel pump sender and rigged a fuel pump on the sender, drilled holes in
the flange and epoxied wires through the flange to power the pump. He later added, "The car I am
working on is a 1976 dash number 3512, 5 speed, power steering, interior is outstanding I mean almost
perfect. The two doors are very rough, underside is rusted. it was stored in a dirt floor barn for 17 years.
I am told it was the last orange Cosworth produced. 41.7K original miles. The car is very original and
very stock. It has been re‐painted. Am/fm stereo cassette I think original.

Appeared for sale on eBay in mid-November of 2005. Ad reads: “I'm selling a very rare Chevy Cosworth. First,
there were only 3,514 of them ever made, second, only in the last year they were made did you had a choice of
color, cloth seats, pos. rear end and cast iron transmission; otherwise they were black. Built between 1974-1976,
they made the engine special for these cars. You will notice the headers on this power packed engine, these believe it or not, were factory. The car I'm selling is The Last One Off The Assembly Line, Yes, you read right,, #3514 gold name plate right on the dash. It's in good shape and %85 percent complete, engine has new tune up, (cast iron transmission) posi rear end,, and original wheels and center caps. Someone did cut speakers in the back; otherwise the interior is in great original shape. Seats are awesome. Top liner great, carpet needs professionally swept or replaced. As you can see very little rust, needs 1/8" steel plate to replace battery holder--that did rust through. Please feel free to call or better yet come and see it yourself; you'll be very surprised. I can find places for you to stay and eat if you fly in. Just ask. They claim that all information such as where they were made and year etc. are under the headliner, but I haven't pulled this one down yet. I have all the parts to complete, and a very, very rare manual that goes with it in one package deal. Thanks. Brent!!” Car is in Cocolamus, PA. Cloth interior. 4-speed. One piece spoiler. Dash looks cracked.

76 Cosworth with 20,000 miles, never hacked up. all original - 4 cylinder 16 valve dual over head cams, fuel injected, 5 speed manual transmission - all factory. Car has been off the road from 1986. This car needs paint and what ever a car that has been sitting would need - I figure exhaust, brakes and brake lines, battery, complete tune-up. I did drain the gas out of it when I parked it. I was asking $5,000 but due to failing health I need to get ride of most of my toys. If interested call me on the phone, no texting ask for Tony

Cosworth Vega 3517 was purchased new at Ryan Chevrolet in Monroe, La. for about $5000 (yes, paid too much). But I was sure that this would be a special car, capable of beating European competitors. The vehicle was daily transportation through college at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La. but was replaced by an 1982 Audi Coupe to meet daily transportation needs. It is too hot in Louisiana to use the CV for work related trips. The car subsequently became unlicensed in 1992 and further modified to be tailored to area auto-crosses. It competed well in SCCA D-Street Modified. In 1996 the car was moved to its new home in Austin, Texas where it shares space with two daily transport vehicles in a residential garage. The owner and his spouse want to see the car become active again on the track, or else get rid of it. I am working on option A for 2019. The Cosworth has been part of my family before I was married.

As the original owner of 3517, I have restored the car to its original condition, except it has Hutton Webbers. New paint, carpet, seals, etc. and looks very nice. No rust. At this point, I am now ready to part with it after so many decades. It has the five speed in it, recently rebuilt. I have a Saginaw 4 speed that I had used in it at one time for auto-crossing. The engine is Hutton overhauled, Cosworth pistons and Cosworth valves. The cam sprocket upgrade is applied, but also have original sprockets. Wheels are immaculate, having been re-powder coated in original gold. New tires. Also have extra set of wheels and four unopened Toyo R1 auto-cross tires. Has a performance drivers seat, and original is present. I invested about $10K in restoring this car, and will part with it now pending any reasonable offer.

The VIN from #3520 was 252999. Many of the last Cosworths made were Firethorn/Firethorn. 3513, 3514, 3517,
3518, and 3520 were all the firethorn/firethorn color combo. I have a VIN and info on 3515 but no color info. I
would bet it was the same color. They often ran in batches of colors. I don't have any info on any dash #'s between
3513 and 3520 other than those. I really do hope that I can give a fairly comprehensive speech on the production of these cars to educate owners once and for all. Chris

I talked to the original owner of #3518 back in 1992 when I first started looking for a CV to buy. It was
listed in Hemmings. I did not know to get the VIN back then though. The car had spent a few years in
"the barn" next to a Volvo P1800E and they had to decide between the two to restore, they couldn't
afford both. The CV lost. Coincidently, I was torn between the CV and a P1800E at the time as well. Britt

VIN #1V77O6U253411. (Originally listed as #3581). My guess is that it is really dash # 3518. I show that one listed as a Firethorn/firethorn car but I didn't have the VIN before. If someone confirms that, please let me know. I am trying to complete as much of the database as possible so that I can give a presentation on it at the roundup. Any other info you can send to help fill in the gaps would be great. Thanks, Chris

I was looking through the photos for the first time and saw #3520. I don't know the correct number for
the car but I owned #3520 and it was my daily driver for quite a while. The car pictured is not my car;
mine was Firethorn, Firethorn without a Skytrends. It was last seen in a downtown Detroit warehouse
where Paul W. and I stored it after he bought it from me. Storage had been paid and the area was not
the most friendly to spend > time around. The building was condemned and all the power was shut off
before either of us knew about it. The car was on the fourth floor, taken there on an elevator. Neither
of us had a battalion for support and protection to venture into the small, dark stairway, and today,
quite frankly, we don't remember which building it was in. Most have been torn down. The car was
minus the engine, doors, seats and CV wheels when it was stored. We should have taken the dash
plaque too! This was many years ago. Do you know who owns the car pictured? Dick

Once owned by Dick Baumhauer: “I don't think [the car pictured in Photo Registry] is 3520. I owned that
car and it was last seen on the fourth floor of a warehouse in Detroit. The car was Firethorn, Firethorn.
I have some pictures of it somewhere but unknown at this time.” Dick 02/24/04.
