According to a 2002 email message this car is now owned by Daniel Grassl. His message read: “I am
bringing #308 (not positive of the number, because it has been in storage for about 4 years, and can't
remember the number for sure) out of storage and would like to have all the info on hand that could
help me restore and revive it. My dad bought it new in 75, and has given it to me. I would appreciate it
if you could let me know how to get this book, and how much $ you would like! Thanks for the help!

Belongs to Charlie Watson in Michigan. He is the original owner. He had his deposit down on a new
Cosworth for 18 months before they came out. He just bought a re‐pop hood pad for it in 2003.

This car sat for several years. Since it was purchased, the Vega will start and stall immediately. If the
vacuum line is removed from the MAP sensor it will start and idle at about 2000 rpm. After unplugging
the electrical connector to the MAP sensor, it will crank, but not start. Several well‐intentioned beings
have suggested replacing the MAP sensor. Because that's not as easy as shooting over to the local
Western Auto, I'd like to find out if that's what it really requires. Compression is approximately 170 psi
across the board and fuel pressure is 44 psi regulated and goes up from there. Thanks! Dazzelyr

New owner posted the following on the Yahoo! group bulletin board: “I just bought a 75 Cosworth,
#0319 and really love it. All original with matching numbers and original paint and interior as far as I can
tell. The paint is faded in areas and body has some door dings but looks good for 32 years. 49,000 miles
with little to no rust on the body, except under the battery tray. I realize these cars are very collectible
but is it worth more in original but used condition or in restored condition? Any good sources for
parts/tips/tech besides the Cosworth Vega Owners Association? Where can I get a good appraisal or
value estimate? I live in Alaska. taesterschoice@yahoo.com ” He later sent the following via email: “The
car came with the service and overhaul manual along with the Cosworth supplement. One thing I have
been reading about is the re‐indexed sprockets. Do you recommend them? I have some problems with
idling. During warm up, rpm seems to wander up and down until it reaches temps, and then later I find
that the idle speed I set at the curb idle adjustment varies from one stop to another. Will the re‐indexed
sprockets help with that or am I looking at another problem? I am suspecting the fast idle valve but I do
not know how to test or troubleshoot EFI systems. This vehicle is very clean and in great condition. The
interior is faded, but otherwise in excellent shape with no tears in the seats and no cracks in the dash,
body is in good shape also. I will send some pictures of this vehicle later on. Thank you. Jontae Park, US
Army, Ft Wainwright AK.

Posted on Yahoo in February of 2004: This is a 1975 Chevy Cosworth Vega for resto or parts. We just
found this in a barn in southern Maine where it has been for years. The plate in the back says the last
year registered was 1983. Years ago the previous owner brought the car out and was changing the spark
plugs and broke one off in the head. He started to remove the head and never finished. The car has the
plate on the dash reading # 322 and the original mileage is 43,672. The car has original paint with a
beautiful interior with the original motor and 4 speed tranny. This vehicle’s outside body has SURFACE
rust on the hood, roof and trunk and has a small hole on the right lower quarter and a small hole on the
left front lower fender. We went all over the car and found that it is missing one center cap on the rim
and that’s all. The car is a great resto project and with the limited production is well worth the asking
price. This Vega has factory am/fm radio, rear window defogger and original matching spare. Please ask
any and all questions before bidding or buying, this car is offered very cheap and is worth more in
parts. We don't want any whining or negative feedback because you didn't read or ask questions. You
can call us at 607‐692‐7340 and don't forget to check out our other auctions of our FORD Sell Out. Click
on the "ME" word after our eBay name for more info on this seller.
According to Dick Baumhauer, " this car was just purchased in Hamilton, ON, Canada, as a roller and will
be parted out, badly rusted. VIN 1V77E5U210343. From the H‐body forum."Black/ Black vinyl
