Offered on eBay in March and again in June of 2007: “Up for auction is a very nice and very rare 1975
Cosworth Vega. The coolest thing about cruising this car to the root beer stand is that it will be the only
one there, and it's an affordable muscle car to cruise. We get lots of people commenting that you don't
see many Vegas anymore. This one is a 26,501 mile original survivor. It is # 0432. It runs and drives well.
The body has only a few flaws including door dings, light scratches, one missing decal (left front fender),
and a couple of rust spots on the inner wheel lips of the rear quarters. (See pics.) I believe that the car
has either been repainted once or maybe touched up. Original door decals are still there. It has the pop
out rear quarter windows. Recently replaced gas shocks on hatch so it holds open like it should. The
interior is very good, black vinyl except for the carpet, and the plastic tabs that hold the seatbelts to the
top of the seats which are available new. The original AM/FM radio plays. The wiper switch works fine
but is loose in the dash. The worst fault on this car the original radiator, fan shroud, and battery box
where missing when I got the car and have not been able to find good parts. It came with a radiator
from another car wire tied in place. It is functional but not correct. It has the four correct aluminum
wheels, but the spare is a regular Vega rim. With a little TLC this car would be a great investment.
Interest in these cars is growing. The only thing holding them back is parts availability. As I stated before,
this muscle car is affordable to drive on regular pump gas where most muscle cars are not. For the
beginning car collector this car has great potential and for the time being can be purchased at
reasonable prices. $ for $, no other collectable or rare car with this kind of investment potential can be
purchased for less than $10,000.00 in today's car market. Please call Leon at 219‐608‐0925, or email
with any questions you may have before bidding. Please only serious bidders.” The VIN is
iV77E5U245261 and the car is located in Union Mills, IN.

This car appeared on eBay in Corydon, IA in November of 2009. It is listed as a parts car with 39,771
miles and no title. According to the listing, “This Cosworth Vega Parts Car sat near a steel mill in
Pennsylvania for too many years. The under carriage, though, is quite sound. The battery tray is rusted
away. You will see a picture of the passenger A Pillar with a rust‐through area. The car comes with a
working computer. The computer was tested in a running Cosworth before I bought the
car. The muffler is the original as can be seen by the double‐barrel exhaust pipe. The car comes with
four regular Vega rims with tires and five aluminum Cosworth rims. All sixteen lug nuts are in a bag in
the trunk.” The VIN is 1V77E5U245318. Seller also responded to questions with the following answers.
“The glass is fine. I know the wipers have been taken from the windshield, but I don't think the wipers
were run in that condition. I don't know what the engine needs. The former owner just told me that the
engine had a problem back in the day and it was allowed to sit unrepaired for several years. Back then,
people didn't know much about electronic fuel injection. I haven't tried to turn the engine over myself.
The floor pans and trunk should be fine. I took pictures of the wheel wells which show essentially no
deterioration. The doors may have taken some water being that they were outside for several years. I
believe the purpose of the auction is to give everyone an equal chance to bid on the car. It wouldn't be
fair to others to end it early. I have never tried to fire up the rusty car. I understood from the previous
owner that the engine had some problem and was allowed to sit unrepaired. In those days, people
didn't know much about electronic fuel injection. Now days, it may be no big deal. I don't have any idea
what the problem was though. The car does have the Cosworth Positraction 3.73 rearend.”

Hi everyone, thought id post and thank everyone that helped along the way with the attempted restoration of #0440 but, after close observation and financial/feasibility studies, I have determined that she is just too far gone to be saved. Extensive windshield area rust and various mechanical issues too numerous to mention as well as sitting outside for far too long before i got it have taken its toll. So i have decided to use her for parts. Having 6 Vegas to my name that are ongoing projects means that the cars organs will be harvested to move along the other cars I’m doing. However,
this being the only Cosworth in the bunch, I’m hoping I’m still going to be welcome in the group. One of my cars I’m working on is a 73 GT with a Cosworth driveline in it using Webers so does this still keep me in the Cosworth category? I certainly hope so. I have 2 complete fuel injection setups for sale reasonable to anyone that might need them so let me know if you want to stock up on some extra parts. Has anyone put the Cosworth engine in an older car? Did you encounter any problems if so? Thanks again for all the help! Warmarkclassics

Appeared in classiccartradersonline.com in March of 2004 with the ad reading: “1975 CHEVROLET
COSWORTH VEGA, # 0441 great condition in and out, no rust, #'s match, 2400 miles, 60 series tires,
stainless steel exhaust to rear, pop out wind, $6,300. 215‐937‐0774 Philadelphia.
Then in June it again appeared: “1975 Cosworth Vega # 0441.This Cosworth Vega is # 0441 of 2041
produced in 1975. This Vega has absolutely no rust, it was garage kept, all of its life and it's clean in and
out, interior "like new", the car was Ziebarted when bought new, paint shines like new (some nicks here
and there), but overall #0441 is a beauty. Original spare and jack (never used), CD player w/remote, no
holes or cut‐outs to interior when installed. Engine was steel sleeved (for reliability), car only has 24,000
original miles, and rims are powder coated stainless steel exhaust. #0441 is in great condition, kept very
well, I have all original literature and all receipts. Apart from the car I have lots of spare Cosworth parts.
Just to name a few: Engine, trans, rear fenders, hood, doors, hatchback. Basically I have a disassembled
Vega with crate full of parts, all included with the purchase of #0441. Any questions or want to see
more pics, email: fastidio77@aol.com.” Mileage is listed as 24,000.

Appeared again in February of 2004 as: #0441 is a trophy winner!! Very low number to find, you don't
see low numbers very often. Engine was steel‐sleeved, and rebuilt at that time. Only has 1,300 miles.
These engines must be steel‐sleeved, or they are not very reliable. #0441 was z‐bared when new. I have
replaced exhaust system with a 2 1/2 stainless steel inch pipe that is run the exact way the original
exhaust pipe was ran. Stereo system, includes CD player w/ remote, w/ no hole or cut out's when
installed in car (to keep car in stock condition). Original spare tire and jack (never used). Numbers
match; have all receipts, books and literature on this rare car. This 1975 car was the most desirable of
the two years they were produced. This car is a stock car with no parts interchanged with other year
parts, like some Cosworth Vegas, listed. Also, included is a truckload of parts. That include, engine,
transmission, posi rear, fenders, hood, grill, front and rear bumpers, doors, rear hatch, stainless steel
exhaust pipe, header, four rims and I still ten box full of parts (too many to list). Basically, a second car in
parts. All original Cosworth parts. #0441 is in great condition!!! Clean in and out, interior like new, paint
shines, with some small nicks here and there. There is absolutely, no rust! She has been garage kept,
and well taken care of. Clean inside and out, original mats.

John reported in Cosworth Chat in April 2003 that he had the engine completely redone, to the total
tune of $4000 and more than 6 months of time. He had it done by the folks at his local NAPA store, and
he is mightily pleased with their work. It had one bad exhaust valve, and the tops of the pistons in holes
3 and 4 looked as if they had been sandblasted! [Ed.]

Owned by Ron Byers of Largo FL as of 09/05. Sleeved block, bored 0.125, custom JE pistons and
lightweight pins, lengthened lightweight rods, Hutton massaged head, lightweight valves and Webers.
Custom designed (by me) cams which I finally got right after one serious misstep. Car sits on old Gabriel
shocks and 205/50:13 tires and still doesn't have enough suspension. I have a Hurst shifter which I have
never installed. Please don't ask to buy it. Car was originally raced successfully in showroom stock.
