Registry currently shows owned by Christopher Gersman, St. Louis, Mo. and is currently listed for sale on eBay.
For your consideration is an incredibly well and highly documented 1975 Cosworth Vega. #446 of 2061 in the total run of first year production in 1975. This is by far and in every way the best one, most highly documented and lowest production number of the 5 that I have owned to date. The car hales from Ken Dixon Chevrolet in Waldorf Maryland where it was purchased new. ( see original invoice and window sticker in pics.) The car was sold to a museum in the Mid 80's where it sat on display until 2 years ago. The gentleman I purchased the car from got it back to running and driving condition where he enjoyed the heck out of it. In doing so, he changed the original fuel injection (yes, every original piece of that comes with the car.) to dual side draft webber carbs and intake, and the ignition to M.S.D. where it wouldn't have an issue running as he was talked into by his mechanic. Along with that, rebuilt the brake cylinders, changed fuel line and filter, new belts and hoses and brand new tires.
The interior is overall excellent.. The driver seat was starting to split along the stiching and were replaced with o.e.m. grade covers. (original ones still go with the car)
As far as the body, It is beautiful and in great shape still having it's original paint on 98% + of it.. The car was polished out and had a new set of both decals and striping added to it. It has a couple small spots (touched up) of paint / rust on the hatch lower window corners as did they all and a few rock chips from not having mud flaps.
The bottom of the car is in excellent condition and shows very well, ( minor surface rust where paint has chipped off) and never a repair anywhere and no rust in the floors or frame ever
Overall, the car is certainly collector grade (and every original part taken off the car comes with it) with some minor touch up and has an incredibly low reserve for the guy or gal wanting to get started in collecting cars on a budget with the value of the car doing nothing but going up, up, up. It's a Great opportunity to own a piece of history... cheap and better than money in the bank..
As always... I welcome inspections (or at least blow up the pictures on your computer) and offers prior to the end of the sale. I am not representing the car as new, It is not perfect, but dang nice all around for a 44 year old automobile.
We've dealt in collectible and muscle cars for 32 years, have a perfect rating on eBay, and still deal on honesty, and a hand shake.
We welcome questions, 4 wheel trades and any inspections prior to the end of the listing. Car may be listed locally and may end early. Clean, clear title in hand. $500 deposit required at sale end. International buyers welcome and have assisted in sending several to different countries this year alone. Deposit only through ebay, balance is wire transfer, bank cashiers check, or cash in person only We offer Shipping $1.25 per loaded mile one way enclosed to your door when available, or gladly assist your shipping company in getting her loaded. In August of 2008, Darren Grayson from Missouri wrote: Description – The body is in real good shape.
There are a few surface rust spots by the back hatch window glass and rear tail lights. When we
purchased the car last year it had been painted, but not buffed (see the pictures in the Cosworth
website photo directory, we bought it from the person who posted those). We had a local paint shop
buff it out and it came out with a good shine, but there are a few areas of orange peel. There are no
decals on the paint. It has the Weber conversion kit and we cleaned the carbs but have not been able to
get them tuned. My son drives the car but it idles real high and is running real rich. We replaced the
exhaust from the header all the way back. We also installed a new master cylinder, front pads and
hoses, rear drums and all of the brake lines except for the flex hose in the back from the chassis to the
rear axle. We also removed the gas tank and sealed it using the Eastwood gas tank kit (it had a few pin
hole leaks). I believe the tank has been changed out with a regular Vega tank because it did not have
baffles I've heard the Cosworth tank had. The sending unit float was totally rusted and unusable. As you
know those are next to impossible to find, so we modified the unit with a new float from a 74 Chevy
truck sending unit part number. We replaced the in tank fuel pump. I also could not get power to the
fuel pump through the harness so I wired a new connection through a relay and a pressure switch that
cuts off the fuel pump when oil pressure drops below 5 psi. The speedometer is not working and I
believe the problem is in the transmission. The interior is also in good condition except for a tear in the
driver's seat and the back carpet is faded. No cracks in the dash. The gold instrument bezel is starting to
fade somewhat. The serial number plate is on the dash. We installed a radio because someone had
removed the unit that was previously installed. The dash had been cut to accommodate the newer style
stereos, or we would not have changed the original configuration. We have most of the original fuel
injection components including the manifold with injectors and air cleaner. The computer is still in the
car, I have no idea if it still works or not. We have a spare serpentine belt. The tires are 90% tread and
match – Goodyear Eagles, white raised letter. The wheels are original. The ignition has been changed to
the high energy system (red box). Options that I know of are rear window defroster (doesn't work) and
rear hinged glass panels. We have the original owners manual and a lot of paperwork with it including
the original purchase order. The VIN is 1V77E5U245689. My son loves the car, but we are not equipped
to fully restore it. We appreciate the nostalgia of these cars and would like to see this one preserved. My
asking price is $4,000.

This car was recently (early 2009) purchased by Jeremy King of Broadway VA. It will be a project for him
and his son. They plan to re‐do it completely, to concours condition or better, and put a 540 hp V8 in it.
As Jeremy said, “I put my oldest son through Wyotec in auto body and interior design and repair so this
is our first project together. I've built 2 previous V8 Vegas and was a heavily trained professional
mechanic for 22 years… Because of the quality of the resto of this car it will take 2 years before it is
perfect. (I mean perfect.) I'll be in touch. VIN: 1V77E5U245836
