This car belongs to Dan McNally of Pittsburgh. He has it stored in Pymatuning, PA, and recalls that it was
never titled, though this may not be accurate according to Dick Baumhauer. It may just be a no‐title car,
as it was long ago made into a racecar. Facebook message from Dan on August 15, 2018 says he still owns it.

might be my B Sedan car? Owner / driver was Bob Wood of Bob Wood Chevrolet in Iowa. The name on the door could be B Wood. The B Sedan log book goes to 81. A GT2 log book could have been issued which I don't have. Dick Baumhauer owned it before me. (From Dan McNally)

l only know of it's history as a B sedan. Log book lists 20 races starting in early '76 and the last on in early '81. Could have been a GT2 car after that as B sedan was eliminated. This car will be my next project. Will be eligible for a lot more vintage races than the GT3 car. It was a race car from new. Still on the manufacturer's statement of origin.

I started the Cos. vega 2 years ago and this is how far I've gotten...
Cos. has about 89000 miles on it, and it sat in rain for 20 years here in Oregon, but very little rust, interior is pretty good, needs carpet of course, but the rest is ok..
Clutch and brake were frozen, that took some doing to get them to work, and replace clutch cable, brake were fairly good not perfect but usable...engine was gonna need sleeves, rings, pistons, and 3 or 4 exhaust valves, probably cam and lifters too, why I didn't rebuild, AND I had the 140 Merc. motor...
Those motors have squareports in the head so I had to make the headers, flange, and intake...They are stock with 2gc Rochester 2bbl., and i used a wcfb off early 283 v8 for carb, which the barrels are about same as using 2- 2-barrels, about 400 cfm, thats how I come up 160 hp..
A friend got a set of tires like the original wide radials they came with($600 set)Hope to get it painted this summer and get it on the road...Haven't decide what to do with Cos. motor, might sell it....Dwain...Had a 75 Vega years ago, with some tuning it would go 85 mph in 3rd gear, And I had it to 110 once in 4th.....

Offered on eBay in October of 2013 as follows: 1975 Chevy Cosworth Vega #0490. Car is in excellent
shape. It was repainted a couple years ago and new Cosworth factory stickers were applied. Engine runs
great with only 58,000 original miles. It has a new hi performance clutch, new hi performance exhaust
attached to the stainless steel header. Newer tires and brakes on the stock Cosworth rims. Absolutely no
rust. This is an original California car now registered and stored in Las Vegas. The interior is great . There
is a couple small cracks on the driver's seat, two one inch cracks on the dash, but an epoxy was put on to
stop cracking. Drivers door panel is not perfect but not bad. There is tint on the back windows and when
outside a window shade is put in the windshield to preserve the interior. It has new carpet and new
floor mats. The only thing that was done to it was an am/fm cd player was installed along with a
subwoofer that can be removed. The engine is really clean and runs great. A new sway bar was installed
along with new shocks and a lot of suspension work a couple years ago. Also oil and fluids changed every
1000 miles since it isn't driven much and don't want old stuff in this classic engine. It was in a small hail
storm a couple years ago so there are a couple small dents on the roof, but very slight and can barely
see them. There are a couple of small paint imperfections but that didn't hurt me in the car show I was
in last week and was one of the best 1 cars out of 1100 at the show. I hate to let her go but need room
in the garage and would not think of her sitting outside. One thing there is a very small oil leak at the oil
pan easy fix though. Car is in Las Vegas.

Listed on eBay in November of 2012. For Sale 1 1975 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega. #0490. This Ultra‐clean
example of Chevy's rare performance H‐body features a 2.0 liter fuel injected, dual overhead cam four‐
cylinder with electronic fuel injection. A first for GM in the 1970's. This car was restored by the seller in
2011. The body was stripped to bare metal, straightened, etch‐primed then all body seams were sealed
with urethane Tiger Seal seam sealer before getting painted with a single‐stage Urethane Black paint
that was later color‐sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. The front end has an Unlimited fiberglass
reproduction gravel guard with an owner‐created fiberglass air deflector. It features new carpet, new
weather stripping, new paint, new front and rear glass. The original. low‐mileage engine and drivetrain
work great and don't smoke. The exhaust features a factory stainless header and two glass‐pack
mufflers for a performance edge and nice mellow tone. The fuel tank was removed, cleaned and sealed
with POR tank treatment, then a new fuel pump was installed. The original high‐flow secondary pump
was also replaced with a new rebuilt PYTHON pump. The car runs strong and is the original numbers
matching engine that came from the factory. The motor and transmission rest on fresh motor/tranny
mounts. A new clutch cable has been installed. The entire braking system has been rebuilt with new,
calipers, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, pads and shoes. New 205/60R13 Sumitomo HTR tires wrap all
four aluminum Cosworth wheels. The driver's side upper‐control arm was replaced with a GT control
arm. Both upper control arms now ride on polyurethane control arm bushings. New Monroe shocks are
at all four corners of the car. The sway bars have been removed, cleaned and painted gold then
replaced with new bushings and reproduction factory id labels. The wheel‐wells have been cleaned,
sealed with Tiger seal, then undercoated with rubberized undercoating. The engine has new sparkplugs,
reproduction wires, a new timing belt and distributor belt, cap and rotor. The radiator has been
recored. The interior is mostly original and looks great for it's age. The original build sheet was found in
the driver's seat backrest and is included with the sale. The vinyl on the passenger's bucket is
perfect. The driver's side bucket started to crack, but has been repaired with vinyl glue. The back seat is
original and flawless, with a new vinyl edge installed with a new carpet backing.
The dashboard features a reproduction FPM metals swirled, machine‐turned dashboard face made of
aluminum that was then tinted a deep, golden color. The dashpad looks great with only a small hair‐line
crack near the passenger's handle. The crack has been glued to prevent further spread and a Sunshade
is always used when the car is parked. The dash is full of the OEM instruments, Fuel, Tach, Speedo, Temp
and Voltage that all work great except for the clock, which has stopped working. I installed an
aftermarket oil‐pressure instrument to supplement the factory oil warning light. The SANYO CD/Cassette
stereo sounds clear and loud and bellows out through the hatch‐mounted MTX Subwoofer box.Limo‐tint
has been professionally applied to the hatchback windows and a six‐inch visor strip has also been added
to the new windshield. The windshield is shaded and features a factory‐style radio antenna built in.The
car is not perfect. The car has a few dings from a freak hailstorm that hit California in 2011 after the
restoration was completed, so a purist will want to redo the bodywork and paint. The wheels are the
original Cosworth Vega type, but could also use refinishing. The paint near the gas‐filler has been
damaged by gas‐spilling onto it.But the car itself is a nicely preserved example of a rare automobile.Car
comes with a car‐show display panel and Cosworth Vega service manual. On Nov‐17‐12 at 20:24:47 PST,
seller added the following information:The title is clear and the car is currently licensed and registered in
California until march 2013. Being a 1975, it is exempt from California biannual smog inspections.
On Nov‐18‐12 at 13:26:22 PST, seller added the following information:There are videos of this car running
on YouTube. Search for Cosworth Vega 0490.

Owned by a guy in El Segundo, who got it from someone in Washington state. According to a February, 2011 membership application, this car belongs to Brian Sampson of Chico, CA. In May of 2012 he wrote that #0490 is "coming along" and that he just put a better stereo in it and had the back windows tinted with limo film to save the interior.
