I was digging through some old pic's last night and found a pic of the dash plate from the cosworth i stripped for parts 25+ years ago so if someone wants to update the database it was #0637. Now i have not been able to find the dash plate but i still have the dash so i either lost it or the guy i sold the motor to used it in the one he rebuilt, i just cant remember so if it turns up on a car somewhere its not on the correct car as i know #0637 went to the crusher. hope this info helps you guys.

This is a 1975 Cosworth Vega not running and needs much work. There are great parts on this vehicle. In fact the dash is perfect. Sears are in great shape and other parts.OK I took the wheels off in order to put tubes in the tires that’s why there’s a separate picture.
This is number 0639 made Cosworth so it’s one of the first. Back right wheel is frozen either brake or wheel not certain. The car has no transmission and body has much frame and torsion rot

Found on Facebook Vega Groups page- listed for sale for free - come pick it up- Located in Missasauga, Ontario
I called on it, owner's name is Steve. 905-874-2363. Turns out Steve found the car sitting behind a local car repair shop. (Steve actually is the one who bought Britt Guerlain's 74' GT Racecar off ebay a while back with a Cosworth engine in it.)
He got the car from the shop, dragged it out of the mud and muck. He took the engine, trans, dash and a few other things. He then asked a friend to list the car online expecting a scrap dealer to come get it. The car is toast, rusted from the middle of the car down. The interior is completely torn apart. Turns out, about 10-15 years ago the towing company found the car sitting on the side of the road, came and picked it up, and no one ever came to claim it. So there is no title, no other history known. (whoever ends up with this car is just going to find a couple usable pieces, maybe.) see the two pics of the car.
Steve is a racer, runs a Formula Ford 1600 car. He going through Britt's Racecar, and plans to use it, but not sure exactly how yet. He plans to get in contact with a few people in the Club, possibly even join. He knows of Frank Sloan and Sonny Rossi, and asked some performance based questions about the Cosworth. He didn't even know if the engine in Britt's racecar was a 2.3L! (at least I think it is? Chris, you may know more about that.)
Anyway, Just an FYI, anther CV found. John J. Cowall

Bruce Weller put a Wanted ad in the Youngstown Vindicator and received a reply regarding this car. It is
owned by a fellow that collects cars. Bruce’s e‐mail says: His name is Mike Badila (330) 530‐1487. It is
a 75, black #0642. He has 12 vintage cars, and picked this up cause he used to build Cosworths, but they
are not in his collecting interest. 53K, needs repainted, cracked windshield, project car. Asking $2000
OBO. Could probably pick it up for $1500.
In July of 2013 this listing appeared on eBay: You are bidding on a 1975 Chevy Cosworth Vega #0642, a
4‐speed. This car is a barn find and will need some TLC. It will start if you spray fuel in the intake, so it
has a fuel problem.. The car is all there, pretty solid. Passenger fender has a little rust in front, but I
have new one that goes with it. The driver's door has rust at the bottom. I have a very nice door that
goes with it also. One extra Cosworth rim too. Windshield is spidered. This is a good solid car for its
age; the, trunk has some rust where the spare tire goes, other than that, floors and frame good.
Quarter panels are nice‐good. This is a pretty rare car.. Please ask any and all questions before placing
any bid. You can call me at 330‐268‐1158. This car has 53,000 actual miles

Offered for sale on eBay in October of 2002, this is a black/white interior car missing the pulse air tubes. “Listing for a friend, please contact him directly with questions at jackoliver@juno.com. This is a 1975 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega. Chevrolet only built these cars in 1975 and 1976. They were the first electronic fuel injected overhead cam, 4 values per cylinder engines produced in America. When first sold they were priced as much as a new Corvette, around $6500, compared to a regular top of the line Vega at around $2800. Production was very limited and the two‐year total was only 3708 produced. Each car was given its own production number that was stamped on the unique gold dashboard, this is unit 0644 Car is a Hatchback, Black and gold, with the rare white interior. Dash number is 0644. The engine is a 4 cylinder, 16 valves, dual overhead cams, with electronic fuel injection, designed by Cosworth Eng of Great Britain. The engine is 20 yrs ahead if its time. These type engines are standard in a lot of cars now days. Ok guys, I have pretty much lost interest in the stock restoration I started on CV #0646 a few years
ago. The car has only about 51k miles on it, if I remember correctly. It's been a while since I actually
was in the car. The car is solid. The only rust in the body was the battery tray and the frame horn
below, and the driver side c‐pillar on the outside. The frame has been repaired using a section from a
rust‐free Monza, and the lower radiator support was grafted in from a rust free '74 Vega. Some pictures
of this work can be seen on my web site. http://www.pinn.net/~ss396/ The car was stripped to bare
metal and prepped with ospho several years ago, and is only showing minor surface rust in some
areas. The pass door looked like it was targeted by every shopping cart in Wal‐Mart, but it is solid. The
driver side rear quarter panel was replaced by a previous owner. The car originally had white interior,
but it had turned to powder. I have collected all black interior panels with the exception of door
panels. The car ran great when I pulled it into the garage to start the frame repair. That's when the
"restorationitis" kicked in. I think that was back in '95, but I have had it running again since then. The
only mods that I’m aware of is the vacuum advance I installed, and the twin K&N filters on the throttle
body in place of the factory breather box. I do have a digital camera and can take pictures of any part of
the car you want. I want this car to go to another Cosworth enthusiast who will at least make it into a
stock weekend driver. I have a 327 and a t‐10 tranny that are just begging to be installed in a
lightweight Vega with a 3.73 posi...the car is located in south‐east Virginia, Franklin to be exact. I know
what this car is worth, but more importantly, I know what it's not worth. Make a reasonable offer via
email and the car is yours. My email is: cozwurth@yahoo.com or ss396@pinn.net. Dave
I sold the car this evening (November, 2003). I will be passing all of the CVOA contact information on to
the new owner. He seems excited to get started working on the car

There really has not been much, if any, progress on the car since those pictures were taken. I did
manage to get the remaining paint stripped off and treat the body with OSPHO, but that's as far as I've
gotten. That OSPHO is pretty good stuff, the body has been bare metal for over 3 years and is just now
showing the first signs of surface rust, and that's mainly from handprints where I've had to push it
around. I've moved twice and had two daughters born since the web site was updated. I agree that it's
long overdue for an update. The Cosworth has taken a back seat to a couple of other projects that I
have going right now. I just finished installing a TBI 350/TH700 in my dad's S‐10 Blazer, and I picked up a
'79 Monza wagon that I intend on building for my daily driver. An old neighbor also gave me two old
Chevy pickups ('49 3/4 ton long bed parts truck and a '54 1/2 ton short bed) that I plan on building
eventually. I am thinking seriously about selling my Cosworth (#0646) since I have too many projects. I
think I have everything to replace the powdered white interior trim with black. I just don't have the
drive to work on it right now. Thanks for your interest. David B. Daniel ss396@pinn.net
