I just (late 1999) bought a 1975 black on black cloth Cosworth Vega. I saw how much effort you have
put into yours. My Vega is exceptionally straight and original with no dents or previous bodywork. The
engine is original, and needs a tune up. I think my problem is in the carbs. Can you give me any advice
on where to get some troubleshooting material on the engine and car? My first car was a 1973 Vega.
This car is 10 times the car. It is #1164, VIN 1V77E5U242854. I would sell the car after the tune‐up. Any

Byron started restoring 1165 and then sold it back to Chris Wheaton in 2000. In 2003, the car got a custom silver stripe kit, front and rear spoilers, and polished wheels. The engine was also rebuilt and is awaiting completion as of February 2014. The VIN is 242884

When the original engine from 2301 seized, RAM pulled the motor and installed the motor from 1165 into 2301. Soon after, the 5 speed in 2301 went out as well and Chris Wheaton purchased the chassis of 1165 from Bob Maloy of RAM to get all of the parts to convert 2301 to a 4 speed.

RAM Engineering got this car from Charlotte Kastner out of Wisconsin. Her, and her husband Joseph Kastner Sr. brought the car to Hemet, California in 1984.

According to a Tom Hutton Fall, 1999 newsletter, Jerry Bailey of Manhattan, Kansas once owned this car
(and three others). Jerry moved to Belize, Central America in 99.

According to Robert Bowen’s January, 1978 Registry, this car then belonged to John Sinden of 5954 N
Kansas Ave, Gladstone, MO 64119.

According to a February 1981 Clark Kirby Regional Newsletter, this car belonged to Brian Hurst of
Mineral Wells, Texas.

Unknown Date. You are bidding on a 1975 twin cam Cosworth Vega engine complete with the original Saginaw 4 speed
transmission and original matching computer. My brother and i just pulled this out of the vega. We are
doing a v8 conversion on the car so the motor, transmission and computer are here for the taking. The
engine and transmission both are original to the car and are complete with the original computer (see
pics for number matching) 107,000 original miles. VIN # 1V77E5U243811. Dash tag 1191. We started
the engine before taking it out of the vehicle and it made no smoke!! This is a rare one. Only 2061 were
made in 1975. The starter is included as well. If you have any questions at all please feel free to email
