This is my third Cosworth (#0856). I bought the first one, #1428, on July 6, 1976 (I had turned 17 that day and it was my first car). I purchased it at Malcom Konner Chevrolet, which was known as a performance oriented Chevy dealer. Unfortunately that one was wrecked the following year. I had it repaired but it was a botch job and I don't see any record of the car still existing today.
The second one was #1488, which I bought from David Dempsey. It ran well but needed more bodywork than I was ready to put into it. It is now in a museum in Israel (with bodywork completed but to a so-so quality level).
Thank you for serving as president of the COVA. Your service is important and meaningful to all Cosworth Vega owners.
Best regards,
Gary Cohen

Unknown Date: 1975 Cosworth Vega, numbers matching original engine, rolling chassis, body is complete and solid. Have lots of parts. Was going to be a project car but started too many projects and job keeps me too busy! Would make a nice restoration project or maybe a turbo hot rod or a really nice sleeper! It rolls and steers so no problem getting it on a trailer. She will be very nice when finished so I hope someone will give her a new home. $1200 or best offer, but please no low ballers. There are not many around and it would be a unique addition to someones stable of hot rods.

975 Vega Cosworth with v8 conversion. Car runs and drives but is an old hot rod. New radiator has been installed now. Has some flaws here and there on the body and interior but it is 50 years old it’s not a new car. True Cosworth body which is rare to find in good shape. 7k obo only trades considered at the moment would be for a nice camper no goosenecks or fifth wheels can’t pull them.

This car is owned by Steve Schott of Springfield, MO in August of 2011. He had it for sale on Craigslist, but is reconsidering. According to Steve, the previous owner had let the car sit for many years, then needed some money, so sold it to his brother-in-law who happened to be a used car dealer. The brother-in-law could not get the car to run, and it was sitting on the lot when Steve saw it. Steve's father almost bought one when they first came out, and Steve decided to buy it. He considered the EFI components trash, so fabricated a sheet metal intake and mounted a 600 cfm Holley carb. Steve is a former Yamaha mechanic and used to race motorcycles. Steve also installed a 3" exhaust on the car. He has been able to get the car to run on the carb, but has not really driven it around. He did think he lost some torque when he went to the larger exhaust. Having found the Club website and done some reading he has pretty much decided to keep the car and get it running. He has a friend who is making a Cosworth into a V8 car, so he bought the motor and trans, with the complete EFI setup, from him to have as a spare. His telephone number is 816-387-9168, and his eddress is bigsuzuk@ponyexpress.net.

According to CVOA Facebook posting this car went to V8 land so if anyone is looking for a Complete low mileage drive train let me know. Only had 34k original miles. Pulled the plugs tonight, tops of the pistons look brand new and the motor turns over like a dream. Oh and of course it still had the original plugs in it and they looked new as well.

Unknown Date. I would guess that is dash number 1517. The VIN is 30 cars before 1518 and that is the average gap between dash numbers. Chris
I had read John's article about your work with the CV registry and it stuck in my mind. Just last week the wife and I were on a short vacation trip to New Mexico, when I spotted a Cosworth sitting in a field along side the road. I stopped at a near-by house and finally found a fellow working on a trailer in an old barn on the far back side of the property. He stated he owned the CV and had it for about 10/15 years. He purchased the car from a salvage yard, the car was not running when he bought it, but he planned to get it running some day. The engine was totally disassembled and he said the parts were stored in different sheds located on the property. He ok'd me looking at the car, so I drove back to where the car was and took some pictures. As you can see the car is in really bad shape. The plaque has been removed from the dash and the vin # cut out of the tag on the door. But the Vin plate was still on the dash. The Vin #, in case you can't read it in the picture is 1V77E5U258816. The owners name is Aaron Mounier, and the closest town to him is Tatum, NM, but I think his property was on the Texas side of the state line. He gave me his phone number 806-456-3581 and said to leave him a message as he was hardly ever home to answer the phone. Thought you might like to have this info.
