#1990 According to Duke Williams' June 1995 Regional Newsletter, "Jim Pierce recently awoke #1990 from eight years of hibernation. Jim had to repair significant fuel system damage beginning with the fuel tank and there were two bad injectors, but the good news is he was able to resurrect them. This was once one of Chris Wheaton’s enormous collection of Cosworths.

As of early 2003 it is owned by Robert Hakala of CA, and he is putting the last touches on the car. Black/ Black Vinyl VIN- 272822

#1991 According to Robert Bowen’s January, 1978 Registry, this car then belonged to Mike Lowery of 632 Carol Dr., Tunnel, GA 30755. VIN #1V77E5U272851.

I have some info on it like I stated, but it is in the attic and will have to dig it out. I currently have this title registered because #616 still has original title. I bought the car from my cousin Clayton Gann in 1997. It had a fresh rebuild on the engine. They drove it around the block but they never registered the car. He is located in Dalton, GA. This car has some damage on the passenger’s side quarter. It is very fixable just needs some TLC. Car was disassembled when I got it. Ronnie”

#1997 Owned by Mitch Stott of Asheville, NC in January of 2005. VIN is 1V77E5U273024. The car is not running, the battery tray area is rusted out, the paint is very bad with lots of surface rust, and the intake manifold is “off” the car. There was some serious rust in the windshield channel above the windshield, but that has now been repaired. Mitch is planning on restoring it and may give it to his daughter to drive as her first car.

Offered for sale on eBay in 2012 as: 47652.8 ACTUAL MILE COSWORTH VEGA 2.0L TWIN CAM 4 SPEED. When many of us think of the seventies, we're reminded of government regulation, scarce fuel and poor performing cars. Despite the general consensus that everything coming out of Detroit was a gaudy stripes package, the 1975 -76 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega was a formidable performance machine which could be considered a forerunner for today's wave of compact performance cars. This all original 1975 Cosworth is one #1997 of 2,061 cars produced for the '75 model year, has only 47652.8 actual miles, and has most all of the rare and difficult to find Cosworth Vega parts right where the factory installed them less a few engine and interior parts. It’s the perfect car for any Cosworth enthusiast who wants something that's both unique and cool to restore!

This vehicle was delivered On September 17th 1975. Invoice #2452052 to: NUZUM-CROSS CHEVROLET INC. Corash Ave & B St Box209 Newton, NC 28658 Under the hood is the cars original limited production twin-cam engine which features an aluminum block designed by Chevrolet and 16 valve aluminum cylinder heads developed by Cosworth Engineering of England. With 110 horsepower and a 6,500 RPM redline, the Cosworth Vega was one of the hottest performing cars available in 1975 and featured a hand-built mill from GM's Tonawanda engine plant that was individually signed by its builder on a sticker that occupies the cam cover. Measuring in at 122 cubic inches, and wearing a correct partial VIN of 73024, this Vegas DOHC inline four features sturdy forged aluminum pistons, a heat-treated forged steel crankshaft and forged connecting rods that both reveal the engines racing ancestry and assure high performance durability.
To meet ever increasing US emissions standards, a custom designed stainless steel exhaust header and Bendix electronic fuel injection with pulse-time manifold injection, four injector valves, an electronic control unit (ECU), five independent sensors and two fuel pumps were installed. Thanks to this revolutionary engine, the Vega was the first Chevrolet car to feature electronic fuel injection which warranted an HEI distributor for increased spark and a heavy duty radiator for increased cooling. At the bottom of this sophisticated Chevrolet, an original Saginaw 4-speed manual transmission, sends power to an original 10 bolt rear end that's packed full of stout 3.73 gears. Holding that sports car drivetrain off the ground is an original F41 heavy duty suspension which includes a 'torque arm' rear end for optimum rear axle power control, larger rear stabilizer bars, Vega GT springs and shocks, provisions for the Vega's "fast Steer" option and front disc brakes. At the center of the car, an original single pipe exhaust system snakes spent gases along the floorpan to a factory muffler.

And 13 inch British-made, gold-painted cast aluminum wheels with new 165/70/13 tires around chrome lug nuts and satin finished Chevrolet center caps. Now for the Nitti Gritty on the vehicle: I purchased the car from a local Florida auto dealer and it had no title just a bill of sale from the prior owner who he had purchased it from. I have done everything possible to get a Florida title to the car and it seems like I need an act of “GOD” to get it titled and registered in Florida. I have contacted the prior owner on the bill of sale and he stated he purchased the car from a guy in NC without a title because the guy had lost it and now that person cannot be found or contacted. I contacted the State of NC and did a title search and got the complete title history and copies of every title ever registered to this vehicle right down to the last and first title issue stated “Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin to a Motor Vehicle to the dealership. I was able to locate the last persons mailing address whose name was and is still on the last registered title. I have mailed him several certified letters trying to get in contact with him via phone, email or letter and he refuses to contact me back. I was told by the DMV of NC that I could get a title if I placed a Surety Bond on the vehicle.

The state of Florida will not accept a Surety Bond so I am left with selling the vehicle to someone who can obtain a Surety Bond in another state which then a title can be applied for. The vehicle has had a theft back ground check and comes up clean via NC DMV. As for the vehicle it’s all original including the miles. It has surface rust all over the body but nothing bad from what I can see. The floors and frame rails are in great condition. The only rusted out areas that I can find are in the spare tire trunk area, hood, battery tray and in the lower passenger door panel. The motor looks to be missing some nuts & bolts but seems to be mostly intact. I have no way of turning the motor over to see if it is free, (NON-RUNNING) the radiator is also missing. This is a cool and rare numbered #1997 car out of 2061 produced in 1975 that would make a great restoration project for the right person who can get a title and bring it back to life. I have additional photos that would not fit in listing, the car is really solid for its age. Purchaser is responsible for the transporting of the car once sale is final. All payments including deposit and final payment will be sent through PayPal before car is picked up. Would consider trade for 1970-73 Camaro in same condition. “ALL SALES ARE FINAL, ASIS NO REFUNDS”

On May-29-12 at 15:44:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Many of you have asked if the motor is locked up. I placed a 3/4 socket on the crank pulley and was able to roll the motor over with ease. I even put in gear and rolled the crank and the car moved forward. The car has a lot of red NC clay/dirt all over the car which makes it look like rust. Yes there still is rust but mostly surface rust with the three areas mentioned above in listing." The VIN is 1V77E5U273024. In my opinion, the car body is parts car only. Full of rust! According to a telephone call and membership application in June of 2012, this car is now owned by Jerry Whitaker of East Palatka, FL. He confirms that the condition is as poor as described.

Offered for sale in DavidsClassicCars.com: 1975 Chevrolet Other Additional Info:
Happy New Year and thank you for viewing my listing. This is a rare 1975 Cosworth Twin Cam Vega with only 989 original unrestoredmiles. 1975 was the first year of a two year run of the Cosworth and this is #2004 out of #2061. A rare opportunity to purchase a Cosworth Vega that has never been titled before. Whose to say this could be one of the remaining few in this condition and current title status, if not the only? I purchased this car two years ago from the Chicago area from the estate of a gentlemen who inherited the car from his father, who was a Chevrolet dealership owner. After meticulously going through the car cleaning and making sure professionally that all mechanical components work properly, it is time to let it go and move on to another bucket listcar. Lacquer paint is in factory original state with no rust issues. Only visible apparent rust is on undercarriage components that were never painted originally from the factory. Interior is absolutely new condition except for sagging roof liner. For an original 43 year old car, it isin amazing condition. Original tires are still on the car with some fading of the gold paint on the mag wheels. Please feel free to contact me with any questions on the car. Phone or text 763-286-5159 is preferred. This caris museumworthy with innovative technology for its time. Many additional pictures can be viewed on the following photo website:http://jalbum.net/a/1852355

2004 This car is located in Minnesota. Belongs to brother-in-law of Keith Johnson (Keith’s cell is 612-910-5455). It has about 700 miles on it. It sat since 75. It is being restored to life. The belts have been replaced, the tank cleaned out, and the injectors rebuilt. However, it won’t start. No signal to the injectors. ECU suspected, as the fuel pump relay has also failed. VIN is 1V77E5U273223.
