This car belongs to Gerald Cross. #2504 sat in a barn for 15 years in Providence RI. It has 29,000 miles on it (Nov 2002) and when the engine's injectors were replaced, and the sleeping engine properly prepared for a restart, it started immediately. It is now awaiting some finishing work on its new brake system and a full repaint in 2003. (former Bob Quindazzi car?)

#2504 First known owner was Bob Qunidazzi, SCCA racer and builder of the CV GT3 car that successfully ran in SCCA national events. The car was last driven in 1985 and then parked. It was acquired by Chris Wheaton and Mark Swartz 2000 when they purchased the Quindazzi stock of racers, turbo cars and racing parts. Wheaton sold the car to Gerald Cross in 2000 when he and John Williams helped sort and load the Quindazzi collection for its shipment back to California. The car was gradually returned to running condition and put back on the road in 2018.

The engine from this car appeared on eBay in April of 2007 with a starting bid price of $4000.00! The ad read: “This beauty is a 1976 Cosworth Vega 4 cylinder engine fully rebuilt. One of only about 3500 built it was rebuilt 20 years ago by Astral Engineering and has been sitting packed in my basement ever since. Astral Engineering was the best at the time to remove the fuel injection and replace with duel Weber carbs. So those of you who would be interested in this know it was done by the best. You all had so many questions I'll try to answer them. I cannot find the stainless steel header pipe but am still looking. You should see the VIN# on the original invoice. I am the original owner of the car which no longer exists. No part #'s have all original bill's put part's list in photo. Compression ratio stock, cam is modified. Magnaflux: crankshaft, connecting rods. Re-sleeved they had no oversized pistons at the time original pistons. Cylinder- cleaned all parts, pressure tested, replaced valve guides, modified valve guides for premium Teflon valve stem seals. Valve job and so on...In Dec. of 1976 Car and Driver modified a Cosworth for racing. I used the carb set-up they used from Hutton motor engineering. I have all original articles, bills, invoices etc. You will get all that stuff also. It is a whole binder full of stuff. It's cool. As far as shipping you'll have to get it, but I'll work with you. I think the original car # was 2511 I can't seem to retrieve that. I have the bell housing. I hope this is helpful.” The engine is located in Wareham, MA. The VIN of this car is 1V77O6U175411.

Belongs to Tony Musto of Florida. He wrote to his RD: I have to admit I have not been too active in the club or with the car (a 1976 Florida antique white, with black interior, #2515). I'm in the process of trying to get it back on the road after leaving it idle for a couple of years. I appreciate the effort you have put into getting the Florida region up and humming and in greatly improving the Internet access. I have to admit your efforts and the obvious interest shown by Vega owners and suppliers have rekindled an interest in the car on my part. I would like to get more active in the hobby. I noticed from your comments about your 2474/3241, that we are facing some of the same issues (laid up for a long time, rusting battery tray area, engine bay clean up, etc). It would be interesting to trade notes. Ironically, I almost bought a "straight" Vega back in 1976 in what I am guessing is the same color (but it was either going to have black or beige interior (I can't remember). I bought a Pinto instead, but my wife bought a 1976 green hatchback Vega that we drove for 5-6 years before "retiring" it. If you care to get in touch my email at work is tony.musto@lykes.com. Day phone is (863) 465-4127. Evening phone is (863) 471-1303. Tony
