According to John Mathe, “My friend Richard once owned this 1976 White CV. We purchased the white
76 from a CVOA member in Sunrise, Florida (near Ft. Lauderdale). He was fed up trying to make it run.
We tried to convince him to keep it and stay in the Club, but he wanted out. He had too many other
projects to be bothered. The car baffled him as to why it wouldn't run right. We bought it dirt‐cheap.
He had a friend with a tow truck/dolly who hauled it from the East coast of Florida to the West ‐ for
free! As we had diagnosed for him, it was a burned valve on the number four cylinder that was causing
all of the trouble. A new valve and head rebuild later and the car was as good as new. Otherwise, the
paint, stripes, wheels, interior and engine bay were in excellent shape.” Eaglefish1.” Supposedly a
firethorn interior.

hank you for the welcome! I am pleased to make your acquaintance. It is indeed a small world at times, and I have been in your neck of the world several times in the past.

My father Alan was a member of the association long ago before the internet was a thing, so I am somewhat familiar with the group. I remember attending roundups in New Bedford, MA and Indianapolis back in the 80's. I remember my dad meeting with Timothy Foy of Fort Wayne a few times and it's good to see Mr. Foy is still an active member. I was young then and am in my fifties now and sadly my father has passed but he was an avid hoarder when it came to 'car stuff' so I have a veritable treasure trove of things to go through.

Through my father, I own two CV's, the first one being a '76 with the registry #3130. It is black on black and has been sitting for 25 years I'd say. Some of the time outside in the driveway and then maybe 15 years inside the garage now. Needless to say, it needs some love, which is what geared me up to finally join the association. The second CV is also a '76 and Firethorn, although I do not know the registry number offhand as both cars are located in Fort Wayne where he used to live. The Firethorn, while in better condition, he acquired without an engine. The good/bad news there is that he found an engine for it but never did anything more with it. So in short, I have one complete and one mostly complete, but they are both far from being able to attend any event. I will update and contribute as I can but my biggest challenge at the moment is getting everything together under one roof.

It looks like I've come to the right place as your website is a fountain of good information! Perhaps if I can get something accomplished with these two, we can meet properly. I greatly appreciate you reaching out to me!

Sincerely,
Scott Friskney

In restoring #3132, a white 1976 CV, I purchased a pinstripe kit that includes the Cosworth Twin Cam decals with
black background. The car had the decals with the black background and was low mileage (18,000). The lower
section was repainted below the pinstripe so I cannot be sure if they are original. Are the black background
"Cosworth Twin Cam" decals correct on a white Cosworth Vega? Thanks, Bob. Yahoo Post.

I guess I should clarify that there is no title or keys on top of the condition, so seriously debating on a V8 swap race car but leave the paint and body completely untouched (with the exception of floor patches)

It appeared again (same VIN) in January of 2005 with this text: “1976 COSWORTH VEGA.. I have driven this car
and it runs and drives fine. It has 22000 + miles on the odometer. When I bought it the title said actual miles, the Mi
title does not show the miles. I see no reason that it is not actual miles. The interior is in good condition, the drivers
seat has a seam that came apart on the bottom, other than that it is nice. The car has had paint work done. The roof
has a spot that a dent was filled, the size of approximately 1in round. I removed filler that cracked and there is no
rust there. The back hatch has small rust on right corner. See pics. The tires are new. The exhaust was replaced by a
local shop, works but does not look the best. Everything works and car is all and all in good condition. You can
drive it home. The bottom of the car has light rust from storing but no rust holes. If you want to make me an offer I
might sell car for a buy-now price. Email if you have a question.”

Bought by George Campa, arboc2005@yahoo.com off eBay for $3550. It is his second Cosworth. His
first was his first car!
George posted this in mid-April: Hi all: I just purchased a 76 Cosworth that has been sitting in a garage for the last
5 years with only 21600 miles. This is my second Cosworth. My first was also my first car. Anyway this is my
dilemma: Since this has been sitting for so long, what should I do before even attempting to start her? Some guys at
work said to squirt some "mystery oil" into the cylinders, and change the oil in the motor. Also put new plugs, and
new anti-freeze. Any other suggestions or do's or don'ts? I'm also wondering how do I find out if the rear has
posi? Thanks.
