This green Cos with saddle interior was offered on eBay in January of 2007. The ad read, “This is an all
original untouched 1976 Cosworth Vega. The car is originally from Virginia. I have the Virginia title from
1985. The paint, pinstripe, wheels and interior are all original. The driver seat has two small tears. The
carpets are good. The only rust is on the front edge of the hood. The paint still has a very good shine to
it. The rest of the car is solid. There is No rust in the floors, trunk, or under the hood either. It’s missing
the shifter knob and the reverse lever is broken, but that’s an easy fix. All of the gears work in the
transmission so that is not the problem. The tires would need to be replaced because they are cracked.
The car has been in storage and not driven since 1985. All of the lights work and the brakes are good.
The motor runs good, but the fuel injection could be a little dirty, because of the old gas. I had
to change the plug wires to get it running because they were cracked. It just needs to be driven awhile
to clean it out. If you’re looking for an original car and a excellent investment, this is the perfect car.”
The mileage is 53, 541, and the VIN is 1V77O6U219040.

I purchased the car "sight unsceen" from Jason Waters, as the car was in Oklahoma and I am in Maryland. I had just flown out to Fort Worth Texas to purchase my 73 GT, I wasn't up to flying again 2 months later. He appraised the paint as being good, but not perfect. .The lacquer paint was severely cracked and discolored and needed to be completely stripped to bare metal. Jason never told me there was any serious issues with the engine. When I first started the car after it was unloaded from the transporter, it was obliviously not running on 4 cylinders. I hoped it was something simple, like a fouled spark plug. When i got it home 1/4 mile from the transporter I took a compression test to find number2 cylinder with ZERO compression. once I removed the cylinder head, I discovered a rather large chip missing on the @2 exhaust valve. The cylinder head was treated to all new stainless steel valves and new bronze guides. Soon the car will be painted the original Medium Saddle Metallic and the engine reassembled and tuned. I will keep you posted.

I know the car and the owner. It's been at least ten years since I talked to him, but I recall his name is
Ron Miller. The car is highly modified, but very well done. Ron also has a big Lamborghini collection
(He's not kidding about the museum bit) that I saw when I visited him while passing through Oklahoma.

Unknown Date. That is Ron Miller's old car but it has been in the hands of Ted Rudloff for the last few years. I remember seeing that car at the Reno CVOA Roundup in 88. It inspired me to do a lot of things to #1977. I would
love to have it but I would have to sell off some stuff first. My only concern is the condition of the motor. The car has a 150 hp NOS kit that was done 15 or more years ago. It was pretty, though. Chris

As of the October 1989 issue of Cosworth Vega Magazine, this was a Saddle metallic with fiberglass bumpers. Under the hood lurks a HME engine, Webers and a Nitrous fogger system. Ron Miller’s beauty.

I don't have any info on 1179 but 3179 I show as an Orange Cosworth that Bob Chin parted out. John do you realize that the 4 digit # stamped on the back of the head block...block and that was the engine # for that dash #. I was just curious how you came up with thinking you have the cam carrier for # 3179 without having the block to match it. If there is a VIN stamp on the block with engine # 1179 on it, email it to me and I will try and match the dash # for that engine #. Later, Chris cswrth1 May 10, 2002

This firethorn car with red interior appeared on eBay in December of 2006 as a project car. The ad read,
“Up for auction is a 1976 Chevy Vega Cosworth #3180. This car is all original. A very easy restoration
project. All parts are there. The car is currently not running. The cam box on top of the motor was
removed and not put back on. It ran and drove before it was removed. The intentions of the previous
owner were to have a valve job done and put it back together. I guess they never got to it. I placed the
cam box on top of the motor for the pictures. The interior needs a little work. The front seats need
recovered & the trunk area and the rear of the back seat needs carpet. After that it’s in good shape. The
underneath has some normal surface rust & there are some tiny rust spots. Nothing major at all. The
tires are in new condition. Once again a very easy restoration project, or put the motor back together
and drive. Contact me with any further questions. The car has 85k and is located in Garrett, IN.

March, 2011. He sold the car to Paul Chicky of North Carolina.
That same day Paul posted: OK all you Cosworth guys, be on the lookout for #3183....it was stolen last
night, at it was in my enclosed car hauler being pulled by a 1988 restored Suburban that were ALL stolen
from the Motel 6 parking lot in Knoxville TN....sometime between 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. I had just
purchased the vehicle the night before from a super nice guy from Kansas and was on my way home and
stopped because of the heavy rain. The Cosworth is Firethorn Red, with custom spoiler on the front and
rear, and with the side marker lights filled in....it's unmistakable if you see it. Keep your eyes open for
any publications where they may be trying to sell it, or parts off of it.
