This ad appeared much later in the national magazine: 75 Black / black/ vinyl, swingouts, high miles.
Very streetable and in good condition. Can easily be a daily driver! Typical rust at the battery tray and
driver’s side rear fender well in trunk. Both could easily be repaired. Will send pictures of all areas upon
request. Mike Malone

I bought it in 1984. It was sold in 1999 and re‐badged as 1959 and is currently near austin Tx. My understanding is that 1959 was hit and totaled. I bought 4 parts cars that were from the Lafayette, LA area. I don't know the numbers. One of those cars was #2303 ‐ I still have that dash plaque. These were bought in 1985.
I bought 1 parts car from Zachary, LA in 1986
I bought 1 parts car from New Braunsfel TX in 1990
The car I am picking up is 0814 from Stan Wells in Luling, LA
I hope this helps. Thanks

According to a March 2012 Yahoo posting: My name is Tim and I have owned Cosworth Vega(s). I
owned #0531 from 1984 until 2000. It was my first car. I don't know if anyone here knows me but I
recognize many names here. #0531 was a monster. 10.5:1 CR 2.3L, race ported heads, 42DCOE's, BD3's,
V8 Monza brakes, Koni's sway bars, springs, Hurst shifter modified to look stock, etc. 3 piece Astre rear
spoiler blended into the body... Now, 12 years later, I find myself looking to build another Cosworth ‐
this time, a little different. Question: what is the stock EFI good for (HP)? what is the nature of the
limitation? (air flow, injector flow, control logic or execution?) if anyone can point me in the right
direction, I would appreciate it. I am looking to build a motor and would like to ditch the factory EFI and
distributor and go with possibly Megasquirt and coil packs. Also, what is current availability on things
like timing belts and water pumps? Fyi, the project is a restomod using a CV that is past it's useful life. ‐
donor car ‐ 75 CV ‐ suspension upgrades, 15x8" Minilite style wheels ‐ metal fender flares (circa late 70's
early 80's IECO look) and slightly lower ‐ CV engine with power manual mods + target 8k+rpm ‐ trying to
retain factory EFI hardware ‐ replace all engine controls with modern engine management ‐ would like
to stay NA but would like 240+ flywheel hp ‐ 5‐speed ‐ target 150+mph ‐ retro part ‐ 72 front and rear
sheet metal. The Cosworth was developed in that time frame. If done the way I am picturing it, the car
should have significant elements of the last 40 years present. I hope no one hates me for not being a
purist. When I was 16, a very nice man by the name of Bob Maloy told me I had to make a choice in
what I was going to do with my Cosworth: preserve it, or drive it. I chose drive it. Thanks. Tim
My brothers car was 2438 ‐ Black, black vinyl, 5 spd, no other options.
My original car was 0531.

The previous owner past away so I don't have any information on it. It has 24000 miles. Its number 0536. Look what I found on my way back from Green Bay. Cosworth 0537. The car is in Lafayette Indiana. I got
two fast pictures for you. The VIN Tag and dash number. The VIN was hard to read looks like the last six

The car is a 100% parts car. Rust rust rust. Not even sure it could be loaded on a trailer or not. Been
setting outside since the 82‐83 when he pulled the motor. He has the short block rebuilt with 20
over pistons and that is as far as he got and lost interested in the car. He told me $2,000 will buy it‐‐he
"knows" there is a market somewhere for the car!!! He also said he could do eBay and sell the parts to
get his money that he needs for the car. I offered $500 for the engine and he was not interested.
Thought about asking him to pay me $100 and I would haul to car off for him but I didn't go there. Dave

Bought at an Arizona auction by Alain Rondeau, rondeau3@hotmail.com . VIN is 1V77E5U214880.
1975 #0539 black/black all original, 32,000 miles, lots of work done, excellent shape, the old lacquer
looking like 25 year old paint, but the car was never hit or rusted. $3,500 US, car is located in Alberta,
Canada. Al
The car was from Arizona. I bought it at Barrett Jackson's auction, it was a one owner car, (I have the
original title) and has 33,200 miles, it is complete, I removed the PAIR but have every pieces in a box and
it takes about 1 hour to put it all back to original. The hood and roof were repainted, must have faded
under the AZ sun, the sides are original paint. That car starts every time, even after sitting for 6 months
with the battery left in it, plugged in and all, I turn the key it runs as if I had used it the previous day. I've
owned it since Jan 2000, drove it home from the auction about 1900 miles without any problem other
than a flat tire. You can build anything not even close for that price and it will be a better value than any
mixed up car you will ever build. I bought it on impulse and have no need for it, my maximum bid was
$4250 and the previous bid was $4100, I didn't think I would end up with it, $4300 would have gone to
the next bidder. Al

Got used from Chev Dealer; 12-1977; 39,121 miles. First owner was a Vet; took very long for Cat smell to end. My Cosworth Vega is not driven at this time. Has been in the garage and not licensed for the road since the state of Ohio said that used cars must be tested for emissions --- I think with a Dyno and tail pipe sniffer were used (but they change the rules every now and then) until the auto gets to an age of about 25. I am working to get it to run. It will fire and run in an odd fashion. I did one on #0541 intake years back!! I had a little problem with the EFI and was thinking there could be more in coming months and I was not competent nor had the needed equipment to work on it. I took the EFI and Intake off and bought an Offenhauser intake and a junk yard 4 BBL. I then made (with steel and pipe brazed together-about 1984) an interface to mate the Offy to the CV Head ... was driven in a few AutoX events.
