Sold as is. Come look at it, bring CASH and a trailer.
Offered for sale, 1975 Chevy Cosworth Vega with 18747 original miles (mileage is documented through the CVOA). It is one of 3508 ever built (for sale) and one of 330 with white interior. All the parts come with it except the radiator. The engine ran in January of 2026 in my garage on an external fuel pump and gas can. It's well past due for a timing belt which is available on the CVOA website. I didn't try to run it on the tank as I have no idea how long it's been since it was used. The trans does shift as it should. New tank and pumps are available. I think almost every part is available for this car.
What I do know is the brakes need fixed (pedal goes to the floor) and the clutch cable is rusted so it hardly moves. Obviously it has some rust but nothing I can find that is a huge problem.
I bought it last fall with intentions to fix it, but I also bought another boat so this has pretty much sat in the garage unloved.
I will entertain a reasonable offer, but I'm not giving it away so don't even ask.

He is offering it on eBay in 12/2004: This is a 1975 Cosworth Vega #1087. The car's engine has been
rebuilt and currently has about 3000 miles on the rebuild. I have all of the old engine parts that came
out of the engine when it was rebuilt. The car itself has around 110,000 miles on it. I have driven it for
about 3000 miles in the last 3 years that I have owned it. The prior owner had rebuilt the engine,
replaced the shocks, and replaced the alternator before I bought it. During the last 3 years, I have
replaced the battery, tires, rear coil springs, water pump, exhaust and cat, pvc valve, some rubber
vacuum lines, and some of the fuel injection rubber lines. This car was one of about 3300 Cosworth
Vegas that were hand built by GM. Most all of the rare parts for this car can be found through the
Cosworth Vega Owners association club. The engine runs great with 1 exception. After the engine is
warmed up, it will run a little rough and slow (probably too rich) for the first 30 seconds after it is re‐
started. Once the computer re‐adjusts itself, it runs fine. Some of the interior plastic has paint peeling
off of it in the rear of the car and the white seats could use some more scrubbing to get them whiter,
but they look good to me. There are no rips in the seats. The brakes have plenty of life left, but it does
pull a little to the right when braking hard at high speeds. The pulse air tubes were removed by the prior
owner, but I still have them. I have many extra parts and books that go with this car including a free
1975 parts Vega hatchback if you want it. I've had this car in many shows and 2 parades. This has been a
fun car for me, but I'm moving on to other toys. I hope the next owner will have fun with it. I reserve the
right to cancel the auction due to private sale. If you have any questions, feel free to e‐mail me. You can
learn more about this kind of car at www.cosworthvega.com. Sold as is, as seen ‐ no warrantees.
She has 110,000 miles on it with around 3000 mile on rebuilt motor. She has new tires and exhaust
(including a 2 1/2" cat). She has some rust bubbling up here and there and it could use a new paint job,
especially if you want to make it look new again.

Mon Nov 15 2004 05:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)

Offered it for sale in the Yahoo! Forum in November of 2004: I'm selling my 1975 Cosworth Vega #1087
located in southern NH. It is currently registered and inspected. It has about 110,000 miles on it with
about 3000 miles on the rebuilt engine (original block and head). The engine was rebuilt by the prior
owner. It is black with white interior with a 4 speed manual. It runs great with the exception of one bug,
when the engine is re‐started after it is all warmed up, it tends to run too rich for the first 30 to 60
seconds until the computer adjusts itself, then it runs fine. The prior owner gave me all of the original
parts (rings, bearings, belts, etc.) that came out of the engine when he rebuilt it. Since I've had it for the
last 3 years, I've replaced the exhaust and 2 1/2" cat, battery, rear springs, some fuel and vacuum hoses,
water pump, tires, rear coil springs, and PCV valve. The body could use a new paint job due to some
minor rust spots bubbling up here and there. The white seats could use some more scrubbing to make
them whiter, but they have no rips in them. This car would make a great Christmas present. The only
other issues that I have with the car is it gets starved for fuel for a few seconds when you take a hard
right hand turn at high speeds (haven’t figured out why) and the brakes pull a little to the left when
braking hard at high speeds. The pulse air tubes have been removed from the engine from the prior
owner, but I still have them. There are a bunch of spare parts and repair documents that go with the car
as well as a spare 1975 Vega hatchback (non Cosworth) and a spare Vega GT engine that has only
around 3000 miles on it. I'm asking only $3500 with or without the parts and parts car. You can e‐mail
me at bratford at fcgnetworks dot net, or call me at 603‐588‐4152. By the way, if anyone has a 1996
Blazer S‐10, 4.3 l V6 engine nearby, I'm looking for one. Thanks. Brad Fyfe

Now, in July of 2012, the car is offered for sale by RK Motors of Charlotte, NC. According to the listing
(at $34,900):
When many of us think of the seventies, we're reminded of government regulation, scarce fuel and poor
performing cars. Despite the general consensus that everything coming out of Detroit was a gaudy
stripes package, the 1975 ‐76 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega was a formidable performance machine which
could be considered a forerunner for today's wave of compact performance cars. This all original 1975
Cosworth is one of 2,061 cars produced for the '75 model year, has only 291 actual miles, and has all of
the rare and difficult to find Cosworth Vega parts right where the factory installed them. It is, without a
doubt, one of the lowest mile survivor Cosworths in existence; and it's the perfect car for any enthusiast
who wants something that's both unique and cool!
According to the original build sheet included with this Vegas sale, it arrived at Huffmans Chevrolet in
Farmington, Illinois with the following equipment:

AN6: Adjustable seat backs
A01: Tinted glass
BY1: Z09 decal
B37: Floor mats
B39: Load floor carpet
B80: Roof drip moldings
B90: Window reveal moldings
C18: Black windshield wipers
C80: Right hand door jam switch
D31: Inside tilt mirror
D35: Sport mirrors
D90: Sport stripe
D92: Door handle tape decor
F41: Heavy duty suspension
GT4: 3.73 axle
LY3: Twin cam engine
M20: 4‐speed manual transmission
N31: Custom steering wheel
N98: Cosworth wheels
QLA: BR70 black wall radials
T63: Headlamp buzzer
UA1: Heavy duty battery
U14: Tachometer and gauge package
U26: Engine compartment lamp
U27: Instrument compartment lamp
U76: Windshield antenna
VE5: Bumper pad
VK3: Front license plate
V01: Heavy duty radiator
V31: Bumper guards
Y02: Custom front seats
Y03: Custom rear seat
Y10: Custom door and quarter trim
ZJ1: Custom interior
ZJ9: Auxiliary lighting group
Z09: Twin cam engine
19L: Black
19Y: Black vinyl trim
Assembled at GMs historic Lordstown, Ohio manufacturing facility, and finished in standard issue 1975
Cosworth Vega code 19 black acrylic lacquer, CV number 1094 is every bit as clean today as when it left
the showroom floor. The car has remained in all original, non‐repaired condition thanks in small part to
GMs anti‐rust improvements, and in large part to immaculate maintenance and care given by loving
owners throughout its life. Today, it features an old school factory appeal that you just can't find in its
restored peers and serves as a refreshing reminder that not every American hot rod needs to be a bright
colored V8 muscle car.
At the front of the car, like‐new halogen headlights are recessed inside of satin black buckets which
border pristine parking lights and a Camaro‐esque pointed grille. Below that grille, an original free
standing bumper hangs an optional tag bracket above a contoured air intake; and above that grille, a
"Vega by Chevrolet" emblem sits at the leading edge of a domed hood which is lined with spear‐like gold
pin striping. At the top of the car, original factory tinted glass is framed by Vega Cosworth exclusive
black windshield wipers, excellent looking ridged stainless trim and bright chrome drip rails. And at the
sides of the car, simplistic and smooth 70s panels are decorated with bright gold pin stripes which
incorporate the words "Cosworth Twin Cam" into the car's front fenders. At the back of the car, a
pinstriped rear valence centers a "Cosworth Twin Cam" call out, a like‐new "Vega by Chevrolet" emblem
and showroom fresh tail lights above a second free standing chrome bumper. And the cars entire jet
black profile is highlighted by small details like rear window louvers, body colored sport mirrors, chrome
door handles and clear square marker lights.
Flip up the hood and check out the cars original limited production twin‐cam engine which features an
aluminum block designed by Chevrolet and 16 valve aluminum cylinder heads developed by Cosworth
Engineering of England. With 110 horsepower and a 6,500 RPM redline, the Cosworth Vega was one of
the hottest performing cars available in 1975 and featured a hand‐built mill from GM's Tonawanda
engine plant that was individually signed by its builder on a sticker that occupies the cam cover.
Measuring in at 122 cubic inches, and wearing a correct partial VIN of 40392, this Vegas DOHC inline‐
four features sturdy forged aluminum pistons, a heat‐treated forged steel crankshaft and forged
connecting rods that both reveal the engines racing ancestry and assure high performance durability. To
meet ever increasing US emissions standards, a custom designed stainless steel exhaust header and
Bendix electronic fuel injection with pulse‐time manifold injection, four injector valves, an electronic
control unit (ECU), five independent sensors and two fuel pumps were installed. Thanks to this
revolutionary engine, the Vega was the first Chevrolet car to feature electronic fuel injection which
warranted an HEI distributor for increased spark and a heavy duty radiator for increased cooling. Under
this car's hood you'll find a completely correct engine bay that looks as good as the day it left the
showroom. Everything is here, everything is as new and I'd even venture to say that the block has never
been fully disassembled.
At the bottom of this sophisticated Chevrolet, an original Saginaw 4‐speed manual transmission, which
wears a correct 338835 casting number and a correct 15U240392 partial VIN, sends power to an original
10 bolt rear end that's packed full of stout 3.73 gears. Holding that sports car drivetrain off the ground is
an original F41 heavy duty suspension which includes a 'torque arm' rear end for optimum rear axle
power control, larger rear stabilizer bars, Vega GT springs and shocks, provisions for the Vega's "fast
Steer" option and front disc brakes. At the center of the car, an original single pipe exhaust system
snakes spent gases along the floorpan to a factory replacement muffler which barks an exotic four
cylinder growl through two polished stainless tips. And at the corners of the car, 13 inch British‐made,
gold‐painted cast aluminum wheels spin correct BR70‐13 Goodyear Custom Steelgard Radials around
chrome lug nuts and satin finished Chevrolet center caps. Still dressed in most of its factory satin black
paint, and spot detailed with a small amount of weather beating undercoating, this Vega is a fully
sorted, exceptionally clean survivor that's ready to hit the road as soon as it rolls out of our showroom!
Take a look inside this pristine Cosworth Vega and you'll find the typical all business/no compromises
black interior that these cars have built a reputation for. The custom bucket seats, which are completely
fresh and display no signs of wear at all, nicely complement a 100% straight and crack‐free dash. Inside
that dash, an engine‐turned gold bezel houses a Cosworth exclusive 8,000 RPM tachometer between a
120 MPH speedometer, gauges for the engines vitals and a gold‐plated plaque which is branded with the
cars 1094 build sequence number. Below those gauges, a correct radio delete sits next to the cars
original heater/defroster; and in front of those gauges, a familiar black steering wheel is centered
behind a blue Cosworth Vega horn button emblem. At the floor, the booted shifter for the Borg Warner
T10 transmission springs up from like‐new black carpet which is protected by color‐keyed floor mats.
And at the roof, the cars original mouse fur headliner stretches tightly around vinyl sun visors and a
bright courtesy lamp. The door panels, which look as good as new, are decorated with attractive
stainless trim and chrome handles for both the doors and windows. And the hatch, which is lined with
the same black carpet as the floor boards, appears to have never been used.
Documentation for cool Cosworth includes the cars original build sheet, two original window stickers,
the cars original owner's manuals and warranty information, a factory flier, a service and overhaul
manual, and a print out of a tech article which discusses the Cosworth, and its engine, in detail.
When introduced in 1975, this exotic Cosworth Vega was a bright spot in a decade of mostly bland cars.
Today, it's a road ready classic which combines proven European racing technology with classic all‐
American style. If you're a serious collector who's been searching for something rare and unique, here's
your opportunity to own one of the nicest and most underappreciated cars on the planet!
According to a March 4, 2000 Yahoo Post #1314, " COSWORTH VEGA: 1975, #1094, all documentation,
still in the factory wrap, 216, original miles, $9,500 or best offer. Ask for Dennis, 217‐540‐4370, IL."
According to post #15256, " WOW. Another new 1975 Cosworth sold at auction Saturday the 16th by
Mecum Collector Car Auction. The car was part of a 350 car collection that Bob McDorman Chevrolet
had amassed. He sold off 100 of those cars Saturday. This car's data; Original condition, only 218 miles.
Well, i had to print out the results to make sure of what i was reading. The print out said the car sold for

According to a Feedback in April of 2011, this car now belongs to Ron Busch, who says he has contacted
the builder of his engine. "I did buy my Cosworth at an auction in Kissimmee, Fla. I couldn't believe the
great shape of this car. I also could not understand why there was not as much action as I thought there
would be on this car. Seems everyone wanted to spend too much money on beat‐up muscle cars. Some
full ofBondo and rust. Oh well! I have traced the owners back to a collector in Kansas, who bought it
from a guy in Scottsdale, AZ. That is where the trail goes cold. I have not been able to get a name for the
person in AZ. I will keep searching.Other than the typical paint job of the 70's, there is no damage to the
paint. Shines like new. I do have to replace the headliner as it is coming down. I know of a upholsterer
here that worked on a car of mine in the 80's, so I am going have him do the job. It would be nice to
reuse the original liner, but he said that might not be possible. We shall see..."
