#2031 I am planning on making CV #2031 roadworthy again. It has been sitting since 1988. In 1988, the previous owner was in the process of rebuilding the engine when a terrible thing called work started to dominate his life. CV #2031 sat for 13.5-years. #2032 This car was recently purchased by Randy who lives in the Rochester, NY area. It does not have a title and has passed through several owners before reaching him. The VIN is 1V77E5U274079. It does not have a motor or a transmission and their whereabouts is unknown. All he has is the distributor. Nor does it have any front seats. Other than that, the body is solid and the interior is decent. Randy is contemplating the installation of a V8 and an automatic rather than a Cosworth drivetrain because money is an issue and he already has a V8 motor. He currently owns a 1977 Vega with a V8 conversion.

#2035 According to Robert Bowen’s January, 1978 Registry, this car then belonged to Edward D. Votaw of 4380 N Clubhouse Dr., Camarillo, CA 93010. Black/ ? VIN- 274279 This car was listed on eBay in March of 2008. “1975 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega, 2 door black exterior / black interior. manual transmission , if there is any questions you need to ask , feel free to call me at (805) 271-4675 ask for Ron or email to youknowthedeals@aol.com.
The condition of this vehicle engine and trans wise: this car has been sitting since 1990, when it was last driven. There has never been an attempt to start the car since then. The body and paint are original, and it is in decent “original” condition for a 33 year old car. The paint is faded; there are some rust spots on the hood and on the trunk, which appear to be minor. The body appears to be straight as an arrow. The tires are in decent shape for their age. The glass seems to be in good original shape. The interior, meaning headliner, doorpanels, and back seat, seem to be in good shape. Driver’s side seat appears in good shape for its age. Has a tiny little opening in a seam, just starting, and no big deal. Carpet is in decent shape. This car is sold in as is--where is condition. And I am not a paint and body man, I just sell cars, and mention in the ad what I can see to my eye to the best of my knowledge. VIN #1V77E5U274279
This car appeared on eBay in August of 2011. It is located in Avondale, AZ (Phoenix). It has 62,319 miles. From the pictures, the hood is rusted through in the RF corner, there is surface rust on the tops of the fenders, hood and top. The hatch is badly rusted through on the trailing edge and by the glass. The dash is cracked. It has swingout windows with the vertical trim missing on both sides. The tailpipe has been replaced, and presumably the muffler as well. No defogger. It is one of a pair, the other being a blue 76 with a VIN of 1V77O6U198054.
Relisted. VIN is 1V7735U274279. Listing now reads: “1975 Cosworth 2door black exterior/black interior 4 cylinder 4-speed manual transmission. The Cosworth logos are intact. Glass is in good condition. The interior is in good condition for its age, you will see in pictures. The pictures speak for themselves. This car is 33 years old. #2037 My son and I just purchased CV #2037 last month. We're having fun so far getting her fixed up. #2037 is pretty much all original and drivable. The body is fairly straight and all there, except the emergency exit in back where most cars store the spare tire. We don't know how far we'll go with her but we know we couldn't do it without a group like this (Yahoo) to help. Wendell Rhynsburger, cv2037
March, 2003. We just put 2037 back on the road. I thought that the steering was terribly stiff when I first drove it but now that we (my son & I) have been driving it for about one month the steering seems a lot better. I'm sure we are getting used to it a little but we both think that the steering is getting looser and easier the more we drive it. Wendell
Offered for sale in June of 2004: Am adding CV2037 to my for sale list. 2037 is a daily driver and runs great. CV2037@aol.com Offered on eBay in October of 2006: This is a 1975 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega. Dash Plaque #2037. It has about 50,600 original miles. Mechanically and structurally it is excellent. There is no rust on this car except for a few spots where the original lacquer paint has worn/faded away. The windshield, the bottoms of the fenders and the battery tray area are excellent. The previous owner damaged the left side, and replaced the LF fender and left door with used parts from another Cosworth Vega. As the pictures show, the left rear quarter panel still shows damage that can easily be repaired. The car starts and runs very well and has good power. The clutch, shifter, and brakes work great. It rides and steers nicely. I recently completed a valve job as it had some burnt valves when I purchased it 2 years ago. The original old-fashioned electronic fuel injection and ignition still work fine, and it sounds wonderful when it is running. That said, all bidders should understand this is a 30 year old American car that may leak a little oil, have some wind noise, and drive like the ancient thing that it is. It is not transportation. My background is in European cars, and I have found that I will never get around to completing a restoration on this car. I just do not have the time anymore. Along with this car, the winning bidder will get a 2nd, complete Cosworth Vega engine that currently is disassembled. The 2nd block has steel sleeves and is in good condition. In addition to the car and the extra engine, I will include a large collection of Chevrolet factory manuals, vintage Vega brochures and such, and a few miscellaneous early (71-73) Vega parts like grilles, taillights, and a front bumper. I am getting all the Vega stuff I have out of my garage. Winning bidder takes all. All the car needs is some minor body work and some paint to be nice. If you've ever wanted a Cosworth Vega, don't waste your time on one that has shiny paint, doesn't run, and has big rust holes in the chassis like so many do. This one is the real deal. If additional pictures are wanted, just ask. Buyer is responsible for shipping charges. I am willing to facilitate shipping by transport from the Salt Lake City area. The car does run and drive so that should help.” The VIN is 1V77E5U274332. From the pictures, it has swingouts, door edge guards, and a black vinyl interior.

Here are some quotes that Wikipedia lifted from the major car magazines of the day. They say it better than we ever could.
Car and Driver said in August 1973: "Cosworth Vega 16-Valve. More than an engine. A taut-muscled GT coupe to devastate the smugness of BMW 2002tii's and 5-speed Alfa GTV's. A limited run of 4000 machines, each one built away from the tumult of the assembly line to precision tolerances, as a show of technical force by Chevrolet. All of them will be collector's items." The magazine's History of 0-60 article said a 1974 pre-production Cosworth Vega's time of 7.7 seconds was the fastest that year. Testing a 1975 model, the magazine said: "The outstanding feature of the Cosworth Vega is its excellent balance. Roll-stiffness distribution is ideal, with little understeer entering a turn, and just the right amount of drift from the tail as you put your foot down to exit . . . Through the woods or down a mountain, the Cosworth is a feisty aggressor willing, if not altogether able to take on the world's best GT cars."
Motor Trend magazine's test of a 1975 version said it "goes like the proverbial bat out of Carlsburg Caverns [...] At moderate speeds, the car is as close to neutral handling as any American car I have ever driven..."
The Cosworth Vega The Road & Track test of a 1976 model said: "The Cosworth Vega's handling is very good [...] All the drivers agreed that it is a far better handling car than those Vega derivatives such as the Monza that have been fitted out with V6 or V8 engines [...] We can't resist saying that with the Cosworth Vega engine, the Vega now runs the way it should have run all the time-easy, smooth, good response, good handling: a nice balance between performance and economy. Sweet as it is however, the Cosworth Vega is still way down the excitement ladder from what it would be with another 30 or 40 bhp. Then it would really be something.
" Road Test magazine, in its "Supercoupe Shootout"-Alfa vs. Mazda vs. Lancia vs. Saab vs. Cosworth Vega-said: "The results are in Figure 2. Read 'em and weep, all you foreign-is-better nuts, because right there at the top, and by a long way at that, is the Cosworth Vega. It had the fastest 0-60 time, the fastest quarter-mile time, and tied with the Saab for the shortest braking distance".9 #fn9"The Cosworth is American, and a collector's item, and it came close, damn close to winning the whole thing."10 #fn10
Car and Driver chose the Cosworth Vega as one of the "10 Best Collectible Cars" in its fourth annual Ten Best issue, saying: "We're talking about historical significance here."
