Facebook Post. Owned by T.J. Richards in La Follette, TN. Parts car. No dash plaque, no title. He plans to use the parts from it to help build a Notchback Vega with a 327 V-8. He says car is pretty rusty. 11-25-2020

Ron Heinz of Fair Oaks, CA owns this car in 2003. In 2006 he reports that it has a sunroof, but not a
Skytrends. The car has 106k on the clock, he is the 4th owner, and it has swingouts and the accessory
lighting package. It was repainted bright red shortly after it was purchased in Arizona because a black
car and the heat just didn’t work. He is now trying to get it running, after it was sitting for about 4 years.
Ron has owned 28 Vegas in his time. He is an automotive machinist.

HI John, I just bought one yesterday at the Scottsdale Barrett Jackson. I see it is already in the register.
Dash number #549
I have always wanted a Cosworth Vega. In fact I have seen this car sold before at the 2019 Mecum auction in Glendale AZ.
#549 look like it has traded hands 3 or 4 times in the last decade at car auctions. I think #549 has now found a permanent home. I am not a dealer like the last few owners and I will get it caught up on years of maintenance neglect and attempt to correct a few parts. The gas smells very old. That will be project #1.
I am a fan of odd Chevy collaborations. I own 2 1989 Corvette ZR-1s #004 pilot car and #74 pre-production car. Lotus-Chevy-Mercury Marine. Now the Cosworth. Looking at the CVOA site I have already learned a lot in a very short time.

The Cosworth Vega came out of left field and showed the world that, indeed, Chevrolet could build a quality small car with a performance pedigree. A mere 2,061 were produced in 1975, and this one is number 549. Unrestored, it has only traveled 15,300 miles since it rolled out of the showroom and retains most of its original paint. The black and white interior is original, and an 8,000 RPM Sun tachometer keeps drivers informed of critical engine speeds. Outside, the black paint is complemented by gold trim—a signature item for the Cosworth Vega—including the wheels. The twin-cam, 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine is fed by a Bendix electronic fuel-injection system and breathes out of a stainless-steel header, while a 4-speed manual transmission ushers power to the rear wheels with ease. A torque-arm rear suspension offers a compliant ride and stable handling, and the entire package truly turned the mild-mannered Vega into a world-class machine. Passengers will enjoy the AM/FM radio and bucket seats. Cosworth Vegas are prized today for their blend of rarity and ‘70s small-car performance.

In August of 2010 he posted on Yahoo: I just got Cos #0554 running again. I took it for a drive
yesterday. First time on the road in 15 years. Ran like a dream, but on the way home it started to
sputter/misfire. I have previously cleaned the fuel tank; I replaced the fuel pump and sock, and replaced
the fuel injectors. I flushed the fuel lines and replaced all rubber fuel hoses and clamps. Next are a
compression check, a fuel pressure check, and an inspection of tune up parts.
