This car appeared on eBay in November of 2006.  The ad read, “This is a 1975 Chevy Cosworth #0100.
The previous owner has removed the original motor and tranny and replaced it with a SBC 350 & a
Turbo 350 tranny. (I DO NOT KNOW THE LOCATION OF THE ORIGINAL MOTOR OR TRANNY). This car
does not run yet, The motor and tranny were rebuilt and sat in the car approx. 8 years ago & has sat
since. I cannot verify anything about the motor or tranny, except that they were rebuilt and have never
ran. The paint is in very good condition. A few nicks from normal use. The body is very straight & rust
free. There is some surface rust on the bottom of the car. Other than that it shines nicely. The interior is
in very good condition, except for the headliner. It is starting to fall, an easy fix in this car. The factory
wiring under the hood appears to be in excellent shape and unmolested. Here is a short list of what
needs to be finished:

Radiator
Alternator
Distributor
Exhaust
Belts & Hoses
Upgrade front springs from original to V8 springs
Front shocks
Run electrical
Rear brakes (Backing plates are all that’s their on the rear.)
Shifter
The rear‐end is the original 10 bolt with 3.73 posi, and the tires still have the stickers on them. I believe
the paint to be original. Glass is in excellent condition. Delivery is available nationwide. I reserve the

An engine was offered for sale on eBay in December of 2003.  It purportedly came from “#0106”, but

Posted link on CVOA Facebook page: For sale on Quad Cities Craigslist:
For sale is my 1975 Cosworth Vega.

Originally, the car was from the Detroit area and I purchased the car with under 25k miles on it in 2003/2004. The car has just over 28k today as it sits and the car portrays as a 40+ year old car with low miles.

This is the first year of this collectible model, number #0108 of 3508 total Cosworth Vegas produced in 1975-1976.

Zero option, close to original car with anodized gold trim. Only a hand full had this treatment done and all were dealer add-ons, not a factory option.

The only option is an AM/FM radio. The car is a 4-speed with black vinyl interior.

The car retains it's original GM black lacquer paint and decals, both very presentable for a car with patina. I would call it a survivor. When new, someone had the foresight to have the entire car undercoated and rust-proofed from the dealer, the yellow GM Rusty Jones plugs are prevalent throughout the car. None are missing or exposing the inner, hard to reach areas to the elements. The body is mostly straight, with a few love taps on the front apron and 1 on the rear hatch. The under carriage is very clean and does not have any rot, the floor pans are clean, and the doors are clean and free of rust and scale. There is a small spot on the rear passenger fender approx. the size of a grape that has been blistered for many years. The hood, roof, and the flat area of the rear hatch have paint that is started to 'scale' like alligator skin, typical of lacquer paint and especially of the era. The aluminum bumpers are in excellent shape without any major nicks, bumps, or bruises. The rubber trim is good shape and does not appear to be peeling or cracking. The car also sports a GM add-on rear spoiler in nice shape. All lenses and glass is complete, unbroken, and near perfect. Somewhere along the way, one piece of windshield trim went missing on I-80 when the car was on a trailer. I am sure a state mower made hash of it by now.

The interior shows very well and is very clean. The carpeting and perforated board headliner shows little to no wear. The front and rear seats are complete without separation or severally flattened foam. The vinyl grain is clean and shines without effort. The pleats and buttons are complete throughout. The door panels are clean and solid, they show no signs of peeling as well as the map pockets have close to perfect elastic. The arm rest/door handles are in excellent condition, however the upper connection to the doors have pulled through. The dash pad is in as new condition and have been covered for most it's life. The gold engine-turned dash is clean and bright, with the dash number prominently displayed. The rear side panels were cut before I purchased the car for small 4 inch speakers, but they blend well into the car. The hatch carpeting appears as new, as well as the aluminum cover for the spare tire. The cover retains its factory decals. The spare tire well and smuggler's box area are clean and as new, having been Rusty Jones rust proofed from the dealer. The car has all 5 gold Cosworth wheels, the gold paint is original from 1975. Trim rings and center caps are present and are clean and shiny.

Under the forward opening hood, the original 1,999cc '2.0 liter' twin can 16 valve engine and 4-speed Saginaw transmission remain in place. I purchased the car from a gent who was a technician at a higher-end restoration and body shop and being a car guy, he simply couldn't leave the car alone. The original 9.0:1 pistons were replaced with 11.0:1 versions with new chrome rings and the original cams were replaced with Crane's Compu-Cam grind for the Cosworth engine. At idle, the car has a slight lope; through the factory header and fab'd rear muffler and twin tail-pipes, it sounds the part of the sporty compact it was intended to be. The rear-end is a factory 3.73 with limited slip differential.

Some facts...

...1975 all were black.
...1975 all were 4-speed.
...all were 4 cylinder, twin-cam, 16 valve cars.
...this was the first electronic fuel-injected Chevrolet passenger car (1960s Rochester injection was electro-mechanical). These were also the first mass produced multi-valve and twin cam GM engines.
...these engine have zero interchangeability with the 2300 versions that most are familiar with and were prone to shelling out after only 10 or 20k miles.

If you are interested in this car and want to genuinely come and look, please feel free to contact me.

I can banter Vega and Cosworth Vega items all day, but please do not regale me with stories of Cousin Jeff's 454 LS7 factory 4-speed Vega he specially ordered from Warren Chevrolet when he knew how to order PRO ZL2. I heard them all and then some.

I am open to serious folks who genuinely appreciate these vintage sport compact cars. This is an easier winter restestifciation if you are looking for something to keep you busy in the garage. Parts and knowledge are abundant when joining the Cosworth Vega Owners Association. https://www.cosworthvega.com/

Feel free to call or text and we can find the time to meet up and look at the car.

I WILL NOT answer calls that are Google or masking-type phone numbers, use your phone and call or text me.

No Scams, No Nigerian princes or Romanian fraudsters, No $10,000 checks for refunds, No Payments, No Trades (unless it's something semi-special, you can always ask), and No, I do not need help selling the car.

And, if you would want to put a V-8 in this car, well, I can't stop you. If you buy it, it's your property. If you want to go that route, I can assist with resources that way as well.

I'm open to talking about the car, please don't hesitate to contact me if you are serious.

Thanks!

bar, Bilstein shocks, and some trick rear trailing arms.  Britt is in the process of converting it to an SCCA
ITA racecar.

He offered it for sale in February of 2004 saying, “CV body #0109, no motor, four‐speed with Hurst
shifter, 3.73: posi, needs quarter panel replaced, was hit in corner, I have the parts to fix. Nice rust free
chassis from so cal.”   In March, having not sold it, planned to make it “an experiment in modernization”.

Offered for sale in CV magazine November, 2003‐March 2005:  4‐speed that has been stored inside for
19 years.  The body has no rust, just a few minor dings, interior is near perfect.  Engine is out and apart,
when I got it.  This car is very restorable, and at the least has numerous parts including good glass.  I
wound up with this jewel as repayment of a debt and only want what I am out, $500.  It would be nice
to find this car a good home.  Mike Pardo, Lagrange, IN.  260 463‐3869
